    I’ve been advised by Furitek that this motor was an early test model and that the actual production motor will be much better than the ox. I’ll make an update video as soon as I receive the latest motor and test it. I didn’t want to remove this video (even though it may be a bit of a mistake as far as results go) because it’s my results. I never want to be dishonest with anyone so I’m leaving the video up. Just know this is not the finished product on this Furitek motor.

      @@2fmrc so far it's decent, other than the lower cg, it's take it or leave it.. I mean it's not bad. . The motor mount is a good design, however there is slack in the mesh with the mount which overtime will wear the brass gears out. I would suggest running a all metal tyranny gears so you don't have to fiddle with it after installation.
      The motor has about the same torque as the .50 motors, but not as much as the komodo which makes sense. In that regard its good , in the aspect you won't be snapping as many dog bones or axel shafts.
      The motor is very slow, but has good modulation with furitek FOC.
      So I would say if you have a really technical course with tight turns and needs slow crawl for the obstacles, then this is a great option. But if you need some wheel speed to get you over the obstacles that are one truck length, then not going to happen.
      Good all arounder , yes!! Worth 100 with a brushless esc, yes if it's your only scx24. I have the komodo, surpass closed can and mofos outrunner and two other 24s running on brushed motors, and you really just can't beat a brushed motor. I have 4 24s and my .50 which is not the funnest to drive is the best all around crawler, in regards to weight, power, torque, wheel speed , and modulation. Sure other set ups do better but the brushed set up does everything good. Idk just my thoughts.
      Oh the motor runs super hot.. too hot to even want to touch after 10 min., which is not a good thing.. and yes my wheels are free of bind and links , no chassis run, and only modest weight, it just runs hot.. so running a course .. it's fine.. running a battery , well probably not so fine..

I get that its quieter and you can use the awesome ESC but just wondering if there is any other reasons, I am just starting in this fun hobby so I might be missing something

    • @TrichbeeT
      @TrichbeeT Před 2 lety +1

      You missing some key points. He had to change the voltage up for the chameleon setup to keep up with the ox setup. 2s and 3s on crawlers is a BIG power difference. Also Speed is just a personal preferences. Secondly, a motor with more torque will generally have slower rpm rate due to the larger turns/mass. What you gotta ask yourself is how smooth do you want to crawl? The smoother you want, the higher torque motor you'll prob. need (Volt up and gear down). Lastly with niose, that depends on the frequency of the ESC and or the gearing of your setup. Imo, if you arent going brushless or your motor isnt burnt out or you just want to go up a size, then save the money for other areas to upgrade.
