    Great tutorial! I'm worried that air roots of my young plants are too short to reach the pole. Even though I attached the plant with wire there is still around 5mm gap between roots and moss pole. It is probably becouse not all my plants are perfectly straight or are a little bit twisted. Will they find their way or I should try something else?

    A question I hear differing answers depending on who I ask- how long after getting a new plant do you repot? If for example you buy a starter plant with decent roots, do you still wait to avoid shock/acclimate it to your environment, or immediately repot?

    • @sydneyplantguy
      @sydneyplantguy  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Reason you get different answers because it's never the same process - it really depends on the plant, how many roots it has, how healthy it is, how it ended up at yours (post or pick up), the existing mix (if it even has any), the conditions the plant was grown in and the conditions you got to offer etc. The principle is the same - you don't want the plant to experience shock or mitigate shock where possible. So for example a plant that was posted bare-rooted already went through shock by being bare rooted & by being shipped - i would propagate her in water for a while till I pot her up. A plant I picked up locally that is already potted up going into similar conditions I would report as the plant isn't experiencing any other shock. Growing plants is all about trying to understand the plant & acting accordingly, not follow a pre-determined timeline :)

    • @sydneyplantguy

      Technically at any stage, but the pole won't take advantage of the pole in hindsight, so to me it makes most sense to give them a pole as soon as possible :)
