First off, welcome back Krayzie!! I know this video was pre-recorded, but I'm so grateful and appreciative that you fought your way back to us! The world needs you! Your voice, your words, your soul... They're all so unique and special, and I am so grateful that you're here with us, and with your family! I know it just comes across as random words from a fan, but I've listened to you for many years. I love you and your music, and I will always remain a fan! Always! As for the conversation at hand: Freedom is subjective in that absolute freedom for one human being always holds the potential of obliterating it for another. I've lived my entire life bound by a neuromuscular disease which has now left me wheelchair bound, so in that sense I am a prisoner of my own body in that I can't run, I can't jump, I can't swim, I can't drive, etc... I can't do virtually all of the things which others use to express their freedom, so does that make me less free than the next person? In some sense, yes, but in other ways it has allowed me to go inward and express other aspects of myself which have made me more liberated than others, in that I can express myself more openly than most, I have more patience than most, I have a greater appreciation for the simple things in life than most, all of which lead me to feel a deeper sense of freedom than most. While the pandemic felt imprisoning to others, it didn't for me because I've developed the tools necessary for surviving (mostly) in solitude in ways that others just have not. All because I was born with a radically debilitating disease. That doesn't mean that there aren't circumstances in which freedom can objectively be taken from an individual. Incarceration, for example, or an abusive relationship, a kidnapping, a hostage situation, even human enslavement. There are people who've suffered a complete loss in freedom, and for them I have the greatest sympathy -- truly -- but for most of us freedom is just a concept. An idea that lives in the abstract, that's neither appreciated nor fully conceivable, and that's before we ever impart our own morality upon it. But I say all that to say: True freedom does exist. We have it. The ceiling to that freedom is always capped by how negatively your freedom impacts another's freedom, but within that circle still exists an unfathomable amount of freedom. That's something we should appreciate, that we should thank God for every day, because it isn't guaranteed throughout the world. We're more imprisoned by our own nature as human beings then we could ever be by outside forces, and we should always aim to use that freedom for expanding the circle of freedom for others in the world less fortunate than we are (IMO).
