Today’s show is like sitting on the back porch in New Orleans just chopping it up with your uncles and reminiscing about the journey through the untold stories except we are in LA and it’s after midnight, but any chance to sit with Lil Wayne is one we make happen.
Reconnecting with his Louisiana roots, Ryan is excited to have Weezy join him, Fred and Channing to talk about life, lessons, losses and making music along the way.
Becoming one of music’s biggest icons over three decades, Lil Wayne says he’s never worked a day in his life because everything he’s done in music is for the love of it.
Storying his journey from starting at 7 yrs old to now, talking about the highs and lows of his career, sharing the untold stories, the ins and outs of life changing experiences, his time in prison, the night an off duty police officer saved his life and how he’s maintained and sustained success at the highest level in the industry all the while earning the praise and accolades from fans and his peers.
Never for the money and always for the respect, Lil Wayne Flashes back to childhood days of when he first started in music and reflecting back on how his mom and grandma supported him from day one not just to pursue music but more importantly to always be a good man and one he could be proud of.
This conversation is a side of Lil Wayne we don’t get to see very often as he let down his walls and opened up like never before.

Perfect energy, comfortability with Wayne and perfect questions.

Good morning and you know that
Nice
Nice
I don't think people understand. Lil Wayne is raps first true child prodigy. He's been in the game at a star level since 13, then developed into a super star and the best in the game.
Cool j dropped his first album at 16. Weezy is great but let’s not rewrite history please. Thank you!
@@larrynicolas5167 Wayne’s better and had more longevity than cool j. Not even comparable.
@@ryan2865exactly
What about Nas? Didn't start as young as Wayne though, I guess
@larrynicolas5167 I actually thought about LL and Will Smith when making my statement. The difference is Wayne was a pre-teen, and he turned into the best rapper in the game. LL (although popular) was never the best in the game.
Wayne has gotten so much better at interviewing and actually sounding coherent I love this interview
The new 53:37
Yes yess I just said.... heyy baby look like he clean these days lol we getting old and that extra high s*** getting old too 😆✊🖤💯
He always been good. He just didn’t like interviews asking bullshit 😂
😂
As a cash money super fan since 98. This is one of Wayne’s best interviews. Ryan Clark is on it!
I agree…
No its not 😂😂😂
Man I’ve never seen RC so excited for a episode ever! 😂 look like a kid in a candy store asking Wayne question he’s been waiting to ask for 20 years. Love it
I grew up with RC and his love for wayne, ths hot boys and new orleans music in general is crazy
If you from the south wayne been a legend
@@Tri.dawg1 I’m from The west coast (Phoenix) and Wayne get the most love out this way too. He been my favorite rapper for 20 years counting.
@theproblem326 I said the same thing... I love it
I really don't care for Wayne music like that...
These men got Wayne on the show. What a W.
This podcast is high quality, the best of the best in the game. Salute
All you have to do to get wayne on the show is tell him he can smoke lol
Facts lol
@joe.limbus I mean it's true. Weed is better than meth, heroine, Crack and pills. I'm well aware they all smoke
Men didn’t get him on here , the corporate handlers did
You really just have to appreciate who Wayne, as amazing of a person as we know him to be, would not exist if it wasn’t for the people in his life who steered him in the right direction. From his grandmom, to his mom, to stunna, to the cop that saved his freaking life. We need a lil Wayne biopic.
Man, so glad I got to experience Wayne’s career, and him as a human. Not one interview is a let down. Highly intelligent, raps first prodigy, and an all around awesome human being. It’s hard not to love Wayne. I never comment but I got to give him his flowers.
ok
Good
You think cats are glad they got to experience Wayne’s career, and him as a feline?!? I really want to know
Word. Been following Wayne since a damn kid bc of my brothers. I instantly thought Wayne was peculiar and said bars no one else did. Then I grew up listening to him getting every banger fresh off the press: 500 degreez Carter 1 Carter 2 Carter 3 da droughts da drought is over dedications no ceilings sorry for the waits on and on. He switches his styles, even does rock shit. Wayne is peculiar and even enigmatic.
Being able to say we lived through Wayne's prime!!
Like all teens, even Wayne had it somewhat tough in NOLA, early 2000's. I remember going to college parties @ Dillard, Xavier, and Tulane University, and seeing him rolling up in his purple PT Cruiser, ALONE! The guys in college, envied and criticized him while still bumping his music. Wayne was young, but he just kept it movin' and was ALWAYS kind & courteous to females!
He is easily the coolest person to ever drive a PT Cruiser, & it sounds like he was the coolest dude at those parties too. That is so dope you experienced those parties w/ him back then though, thanks for commenting frfr
You have any other stories from those parties with him? I'm sure i'm not alone in wanting to hear whatever other stories you remember haha
Wayne ignored them and keep courtesy to women.
@@nazrulzl9nh3db4kk Yes; the PLAY here is that those dudes saw how the women liked him so they began to emulate him; buying more of his music/style!
@@von... He dated one of my college roomates! No other comments besides, if they were in the mall/restaurant and Toya was there; he DID NOT allow her/any girl he dated to be within so many YARDS of Toya! He despised female drama. You had to be secure to be with him; even then. Needless to say, my roommate was young and could not deal with the lifestyle; they parted ways. It worked out.
We have to acknowledge how healthy Wayne is looking! Glad he's taking care of himself.
How so? Did he stop doing drugs? Drinking more water?
Compared to his prime he look like shit but if we only talk about blonde locks era yea he getting better
with that vocal fry? damn!
I'm sorry, I love the guy. He's been apart of my entire childhood and adulthood, but let's be real here, wayne does not look or sound healthy at all.
ok
To me, Wayne has been, and will always be, The Best Rapper Alive. He's a true genius lyrically, and all ways 💯 I don't think that there will ever be another like him.
And the fact that he’s been doing it for so long an never fallen off. 🐐
@@AWThePrezident yes definitely the true GOAT 💯
I think for all of us fans he is
I’m from New Orleans, I can’t tell you how important Wayne is to us and when growing up. Literally the 🐐… and not being bias!!
How is he the goat when he literally admits jay z is the goat in this interview lol
@@UptownAlleyFashionour comment is so stupid, it barely deserves to be addressed other than to point this out.
@@UptownAlleyFashionidc what he say Jay Z is the most overrated rapper of all time, Jay Z didn’t set an trends or had the impact on my generation like Wayne did and the generation after me!
@@aaronconners5570 that’s a lie. Wayne just admitted he doesn’t write because of jay, now nobody writes. Jay was the first rapper to put an album on a phone. Music basically wouldn’t exist without jay today lmao
I’m from Cleveland and he was our goat growing up to bro bars on bars
So proud of the growth from the guys. They truly do their research and are invested in every guest they interview
Exactly! Comment is spot on!
This not about them this is about the best rapper ever lil Wayne
Love the Pivot.
Right! The hosts don't display a big ego, and make it about the guests.
Lil Wayne looks healthy
This is the most comfortable I’ve seen Wayne do a interview in a while. You can tell his mind is not clouded. He remembering so much, my dude look like he back in great shape and health 🙏🏾 hoping he continues this path in his life.
I love how excited Ryan is about this guess. You can hear and see the pride he has any time a guess is on from Louisiana or anything concerning Louisiana. I love these guys and I tell Fred’s mom all the time how proud I am of him.
Yea Ryan won't let anyone else ask a question 😂
The word is “guest”. Not “guess”.
Wayne actually answered all the questions even when given 2-3 at a time. Shout out to him for that as most people can’t retain 2 questions at a time.
Yea I loved that part from him 🎉🎉🎉
Yea he really doesn’t get his credit but this dude is an actual SAVANT Genius.

It's that ADHD,a curse and a gift. I see it all the time with my daughter. She's brilliant but can not focus on just one thing at a time.
@@vnewt0422say man, quick question for ya; is it truly ADHD or moreso "an ability" to capture a number of things within thee attention span? Personally I feel mixed thoughts about it. (That's if you don't mind me asking)
This interviewed is a testament that you can’t judge a book by its cover
If u know Wayne this regular. He smart asf

@@dashawntaylor2661 very true. It definitely helps them understand a little more why us Wayne fans rock with him like we do 🙏
That’s a good mama. So many take advantage of their kid’s success.
Right cus thats something I would have done. I can't say the same for my own mother.
Ion think ppl understand what a blessing it is to still have Wayne. We could’ve lost I’m a longgg time ago. Big s/o to him for getting his health together & maintaining this long.. wow, best rapper alive
Their organic feel, the authentic guest, the conversations.. everything that you want in a podcast for sports/music the guys bring it 💯

Nah they ask questions and make this seem like a therapy session.
Lil' Wayne is a universal treasure. We're blessed to be living while the greatest hip-hop artist ever is still doing his thing. LONG LIVE TUNE 🎵💯

Channing was serious 😂😂😂😂😂 when he said “can you please do that again, no ceilings 11”
We love you Wayne. I’m glad you stopped the lean. I’m glad you’re healthy and that skating is your therapy. I’m glad you have always been and still are humble. Regardless of what May have happened with Cash money and the lawsuits, you still honor and speak highly of Slim and Baby and show how real men and brothers are supposed to move and persevere despite bumps along the way. Thank you Pivot for putting this together.
He def looks way more sober and healthy that withdrawal had be crazy
Thank you Pivot
@@mikeleahy1987yep and watching ppl leave closer and closer to home while raising your young smh yeah that'll help sober a mf up without a doubt
Part of my love for Wayne is the respect & love he has for him mom. And being born and raised in Louisiana and transplant to Houston. He has always been my favorite. Every award he won I cried, I was so proud of him. Then he took over the Teen Choice Award for what seems like a decade. When the young people you make music for continuously give you award after award that was proof, and confirmation for me. 💙💙💙
Much LOVE he like a kid in the candy store giving Wayne all his flowers RESPECT need more of this he what he do just like the rest of us but on a higher level again RESPECT!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
The way he made sure he dap everyone up respectfully...that's why Wayne continues to be THE GOAT!!
Love Wayne. I’m 30 and Wayne was my childhood. Bro would hop on anyone’s song and make it his. Drought 3 the best mixtape of all time. Also love how he ain’t with that BLM bullshit. Wayne top 5 of all time
At the 7:50 mark you can see the look in Wayne’s eyes when asked about what he missed. B.G, Juve, Turk and Wayne was a special time, short lived but special. Man has seen a lot. Salute to y’all for this interview! Wayne in my top 5 of all time!
People really need to realize how grounded Wayne is. There are so many young children who become stars who are still struggling. So many of them are fu**ed up. Shoutout to the people that raised this man, you all did a good job.❤️ Stay strong and humble like you are Wayne.
This interview was so heartfelt these guys is on the money they know exactly what questions to ask great work the lighting camera angles nice and when it all comes together this interview radiates motivation

Wayne's charisma, origins, and talent is as authentic as anyone in the game. His grandmother's requirements for him to perform as a youngster was the gift. Black people need to realize their ability to get each other prepared for greatness frfr... Good stuff here!!! Great job fellas!

That's hard
Wayne is a breath of fresh air! I have watched his last few interviews on Club Sha-Sha, Drink Champs, and Colorado University w/Coach Sanders. He's grown as a young man who's now 40yrs!! What a blessing! The Pivot....Phenomenal Show again!
Man Wayne is the ultimate musician. This man needs to be recognized way more than he does. He made it cool to do alot of things, from ppl tatting their face, to black gangsta rappers wearing tight/slim fit clothing when it was frowned upon etc... won't even touch on the influence he has in hip hop, i'd be typing for days. G.o.a.t.
Tattooing the face ain't cool
@mrhoopfan1 for rappers... alotta shit ain't cool but mfs still do it. He's a trendsetter.

This is the best Wayne interview he’s ever done! Nothing else even close. The Pivot on 🔥!!!
The respect he put on Bird Man's name is so honorable and humble, especially after all the allegations. That's real💯
Lil Wayne has surprisingly really good interviewing skills he kept everybody engaged she kept I contact with everyone I love this great questions
Every piece of footage Wayne on should be absolutely cherished, as we do... Bro's energy stay the same always... Love from South Africa Fam!

I love when Ryan geeks out! Thanks for speaking on some things we hadn’t heard Wayne speak before. I loved this interview.
I love how he makes it known how important his Mother is to him. It doesn't matter how old we are. Growing up with a single mother I understand when he said "she taught me to be a man". Much Respect to Wayne and all the Moms out there! ❤
Much respect to this interview. Proud of where Lil Wayne is at this stage of his life. Much luv
Lil Wayne is the BEST RAPPER ALIVE & of All-Time! the GOAT
I grew up with Wayne man. It feels like I’m sitting there with them reminiscing on old times and how UNBELIEVABLE he was.
My cousin played for the steelers and lil Wayne was the soundtrack to my life when I was running around. This is the best interview for me that I never knew I needed
Who is your cousin?
Lil Wayne definitely a living legend. One of my top 10 of all time. And definitely top 5 of the South! Blessings
Man I am so proud of you guys. I met you when you were in highschool and you received your scholarship to LSU. I was with your dad's cousin Darrell. You were so respectful. It was yes sir and no sir. I accidentally found you and your interview with Shaq. Here I am watching you and Lil Wayne. I have watched your career through LSU, Pittsburgh and ESPN. Now you are doing your own thing. Best of luck in your life and career. A true fan from agiers.
Has to arrive with the blunt in mouth 😂🤣😂🤣 Wayne will always be one of the goats… Also, this podcast just keeps getting bigger and bigger
Wayne was the soundtrack to my life in 8th grade man. 07-09 was some special years. That grind i saw him have for the music. I told myself whatever career I get into if I don’t love it and do it 24/7 like Wayne treated music I won’t do it.Wayne inspired me most with his work ethic like non other. I just want to find my passion and work like that. He doesn’t have a retirement date because he loves it so much that’s the only thing I want for myself fuck the money

Dedication 2 was when I really got into Wayne . Crazy thing is he said he was the best rapper alive early on , and nobody said a damn thing cause he was right !
Once again another Fire episode. Maddd respect to Pivot and Lil Wayne.
You can see how much Wayne love his Momma by how he talk about her. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
On the song 10,000 bars YOU CAN HEAR HIM RIPPING THE PAPER AS HE RAPS OFF THE PAGES. It really was the last time he wrote. Pure artistry 🔥💯😤
This will be the best interview. The 3 goats called the three headed goat & made it happen.
There isn’t one goat in this interview
I love Wayne! Was listening to The Drought 3 yesterday, he is the GOAT!

I just commented how the drought 3 is the best mixtape of all time!!!
I see no lies that u told..Wayne's mixtapes go harder than most of them wack rappers' albums..He started at the age of 11 and now is 40.Thats dam near 3 decades of being 🐐 status..🔥🔥🔥
My favorite mixtape is The Drought Is Over
I love how ORGANIC this show is. Great chemistry. Nothing is forced! You can tell they care about making their guest feel comfortable and not looking for the guest to praise them for validation. Favorite podcast

I personally feel like Wayne has had the overall best rap career ever! To start at such a young age and to fight all the way to the top is amazing! THE BOOT
Being that I'm from New Orleans and I'm older than Wayne I can say not all of us consider him the Goat but I can't take away what he's done and what he's given back to the city. He's grown so much and plenty of mistakes were made I'm just glad he alive to tell the tale. I guess in that respect, he's no different than the rest of us who got out and made good, and we talk about it
Him doing the 10,000 bars, took him to the level that nobody else was on, not even Jay. Read and write 10,000 bars is super great for your conscious and subconscious. His mental dictionary grew tremendously doing that. His ability to pull the most right words out of the ether, just to make our heads bop. That mother fucker spit fr
