The stock, barrel shroud and outer drum look pretty much identical to the war game version. The thingI like the least about the APS version is how horrible the grip is on the thing. I’m planning on stripping the gun down and making a printable body that takes AEG grips and a different stock system.
Looks absolutely beatiful. Im back into airsoft after some years break I was looking alot carefully for a new airsoft gun. You inspired me. I have ordered now a striker for my own. Cant wait to get it in a couple weeks.
Im considering getting into the hobby and while the APS 870 looked, really impressive power and accuracy wise for a toy gun with the higher power shells, the working with shell catchers thing just seemed troublesome, so i thought "i wonder if anyone makes a striker? that would be perfect!" about 12 seconds later low and behold, you mention this thing. My question is in the 870 review you mentioned barrel length had a mild degree of effect on spread and power, do you think for outdoor use the barrel on the Striker compromises effectiveness over the longer barreled 870s to bother with the inconvenience?
Interestingly, while the barrel length does have an effect, the APS Mk3 870s deliver substantially higher power due to the use of a hammer-fired system rather than a direct push-pin like the Striker. This puts the guns in an uncomfortable situation of the 870 having higher power and thus more usable range, while the Striker has the advantage of shell retention. However, APS is actually making a Striker of their own- on both gas-in-gun Mk2 and gas-in-shell Mk3 flavors- and chances are those will be hammer-fired like the 870. You might be best off waiting a couple months (Spring 2024 release) to see how those pan out.
@@murlinthomas9858 Grab that thing, they will not get cheaper unless they're broken. These things are rare and will become very valuable in the future. There's furniture kits on octagon /hat are black instead of orange and they have the barrels as well, but there are no builders kits if thats what you're after

I would like a suppressed flamethrower, but I don't know how to build a decent one so I wouldn't be able to test it. Also, do you think it would be worth cutting an R-hop patch and a window in the barrel to apply hop to the BBs? I would expect that a window and patch pretty close to the entrance with a tight fitting tube, or even tape would be fine, as long as you could shim it for downwards pressure.

What kind of machining capabilities do you have? It seems like there's a really obvious shotgun mechanism that hasn't been explored. Store co2 in the gun, release it through a rubber nozzle seated at the back of the shell. No more expensive shells. Could probably make conversation kits for real shotguns
The valve knocker bumps harmlessly against the primer. If you were to sharpen the valve knocker and give it a good whack, you would experience firsthand what happens when you try to contain 11,500 PSI in a plastic cylinder.

I feel like this is the best use of shell ejecting as you just simply angle the drum into a dump pouch when reloading.

There is new " Beretta 1301 " AEG ebb Shell ejecting shotgun made for 7-8mm gelball , but easy convertable for asg. Mayby next project?

this was tried before in the MK2 APS guns, while it did let the shells basically be plastic tubes it absolutely murdered the velocity
Is the orange wargames striker and tye FCW striker the exact same product?
Yes- FCW is Octagon Airsoft's in-house brand, which they use for the Strikers that have been upgraded with black furniture and/or metal barrels.
