This comes to show that so called closing the gap conversation is a far stretch from the truth. Especially when it comes to basketball! US men's best players only care for gold medals in the Olympics. Other countries can take that FIBA crap.
Free throw % for the USA is appalling. Not sure if the dominance is down to skill and fundamentals or just sheer size and athleticism.
It’s combo of both. These kids are highly skilled and super athletic
One team didn’t even belong in the same gym as the other team fundamentally crushed what kubthink steals blocks box outs rebounds and 1’s controlling tempo.. skill hard work talent determination grit… USA had more in 1 shoe then the rest of the world combined so they literally crushed the worlds best athletes their own age

Where are you at World? What happened to all fundamental crap you guys were talking about, saying all the Americans do is shoot 3 and dunks, a whole lot of dunks and a whole lot of 3 and blowouts. What happened world?
These guys are too good to play high school basketball. They all need to sign contracts with OTE , the NBA Academy, or one of the academies in Europe.
International play basketball officials are the worst on every level. Thank God the US is just that much better at this age group than they are or they would be in trouble. They allow Italy to push the hell out of the big men, reach through them, and they missed several out of bounds calls when it was clearly out by Italy. I don't know where this international basketball crap comes from in the first place. The US has gone everywhere to make this sport better in other countries. Since we are the leaders in the sport they should be using OUR official because they sure in the hell miss to many calls at this level, never the less when the men play. The official is worse the varsity basketball. Why are we playing their rules when we rule that sport. These other countries rule at soccer and the international group can run that. But, basketball should not be govern internationally. Or either thy need training from the US.
That’s what makes it great. Fouls are only called when they are fouls, not the tic tac shit we have in the US.
Meh let them govern it gives us a challenge and makes them feel like they are catching up.

The athletic gap was too big but technically wise I would say US team is not that crazy. They played bully ball the whole time but there was not a single player with a mind-blowing playing style. Apart from that congrats for the gold medal!!

Mamma mia che brutta figura, da italiano per niente sono orgoglioso di questa giovane nazionale, un allenatore che all'ennesimo pressing alto non caccia neanche un urlo dando una sveglia ai suoi ragazzi, dicendo che sono pochi addirittura gli errori commessi, gli errori commessi sono di testa non sapere come affrontare un pressing alto vuol dire non averlo provato mai in allenamento, loro non hanno fatto uno schema perché si divertono quando giocano in attacco, noi pensiamo troppo alla tattica anziché divertirci facendo anche troppi passaggi, insomma siamo indietro anni luce confronto agli Usa, e purtroppo sembra essere un gap ancora troppo elevato tra noi e loro, si vede che loro ci vivono per il basket noi no!!!!
