  • Hello everyone! Welcome to my new version of a guide to the current V/Line passenger carriages as of July 2024, due to the fact that the remaining H type carriages were all withdrawn from service on February 2024.
Two kinds of passenger carriages are provided in the video, with all of them are being part of long-distance passenger services hauled by N Class locomotives currently. Anyways, please enjoy my new version of a guide video of V/Line’s passenger carriages I made for my channel!

    Z cars can be marshalled like Z-Z-N-N-N. An example is VN5 which is formed of: < West end BZN273 (Z), BZN266 (Z), BN13 (N) BRN40 (N) and ACN15 (N) East End >
    N sets have different variations:
    N (3 car set)
    FN (4 car set)
    VN (5 car set)
SN (Standard gauge set for Albury trains, SN1, SN8 and SN15 are 4 cars while SN16 is 5 cars)
All the SN sets have been split up for preservation
A lot of coaches from N sets have been swapped and taken out, hence why FN9 and FN4 in the video has 5 cars instead of 4. However, FN4 is under restoration and is down to 3 cars.

Edit: N coaches were part of the New Deal in 1981, along with the N class.
