I love the movement u did wif your hand @6:50 minutes into the video. 😂😊
Awesome just what I'm looking for. I'll be doing a winterized Crafter camper and don't want roof ventilation due to heat loss so this will be the option I go for.
How did it go?
@@soulfinderz i ended up putting a small roof vent and leave the door slightly open for incoming air. I actually forgot about this thing. Never too late. Thanks for the reminder.
This is great. I wanted massive storage on the roof and needed another option for ventilation.
I'm glad it helped. Mark
Also positioned to avoid sucking exhaust gases onto your van
Good point.
Would this approach still work with wool insulation installed in the floor or would there be an issue because of the gap where the insulation is located? Maybe there is an additional piece I could use to make this possible.
Just go under the van and find your spot for the vent and drill a tiny reference hole from underneath the van, then go inside and cut using your hole saw.
Much easier than going in and out and measuring shit over and over. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I like to be sure its in the right place. You only have one chance of getting it right.
Hello, how was the floor vent practically working, meaning from your camping experience? Have you shut the floor vent while driving? Does it have any air filter? Where did you buy it?
Great informative video. Just 2 questions. What sealant do you use? and What rustproofing do you use? Thanks!
Thank you. I would recommend using a flexible body sealant or flange sealant, it sticks really well and stays flexible. For the rust proofing I would use either a Hammerite or Wax oil product. Hope this helps. Mark.
Maybe a dumb question... but why not drill a pilot hole from underneath the van?
Just as a thought right up through the wood floor to
Its quite difficult to drill from underneath due to the crossmembers and suspension components. But whatever works for you, this is just my way of doing it. Mark
Why do the vents have to be diagonal from one another? Just wondering.
Its for maximum air flow through the van. So corner to corner is the longest distance. If you have them too close the air will just go up and out of the van and not through it.
Just to clarify, is this used for colder climates or are there other reasons for this type of vent product?
Hi Tim. It is used in conjunction with roof vent in order to get a good flow of air through the van. This helps with the ventilation and can help reduce condensation.
@@WhiteboxUK Thank You. That clarify's it
What's the difference between this guy and a manager at Barclays in a fist fight? One's a warring banker... Seriously, though, nice job showing how to install a vent.
Wow thanks Tom, really appreciate you comment. Mark. x x
@@WhiteboxUK I'm planning my campervan conversion and I'm going to use floor vents as well because it's a great idea to get cool, fresh air that vents the entire van.
