There is an empty lot next street over from me. It's always been mowed. This year, no one has mowed it, grass it up to your knees. I just happen to notice a lawn care company pull up to it a few days ago, they sat there and looked it it for a while, then left. Today, a fella with a farm tractor came and mowed it.

Here is another trick for you 🎉 anytime you cut a limb from a tree it opens a spot for bugs to attack it. Get a spray can of flexseal clear and and give it a light cover. Stop the chance of killing more of the tree 😊❤ back in the day we use roofing tar but this is much easier 🎉

Yeah I was dicing pine branches in the bed one time during g a hot summer day and when I was done I set the chainsaw down on my knee. I ended up needing about 20 stitches right across my kneecap but praise God I only cut skin. Be VERY CAREFUL!

I didnt have that problem. The grasd was over a foot high in her back yard. We settled on a price per week and she wanted it bagged. The problem i couldnt use any zeroes couldnt get thorough the gate. So using a 21 inch mow znd bagging wind up with a full pickup load of grass. So i took a little beating i figured ill make it up mowing it every week. When it was time to leave i said ill see you next wedbesday she said ill hive you a call. A mo th later she calls saying to come. When i get there it ovsr a foot high i told her i cant mow it what you want to pay doing it one time a month. Dhe didnt want to pay the pricr one time month other lawncare guys said she got me like she did with them. Lesson well learned !!
Maybe have a travel trailer at the property so yall can have a place to clean up or rest after a busy day until yall build it up the way yall plain to

That customer should've given at least a heads up that the backyard was not mowed instead of you guys walking into a surprise like that. Totally unfair of said customer but you guys kocked it out like always !!!! Great work

Great work you think about putting ratchet straps along fhe side of the bed of the truck to strap down braches and logs??
Unfortunately you can't force customers to cut there lawn regularly. As a result they could easily change there mind and drop you altogether or goes weeks before it gets mowed. Always price is has to be spot on on the first cut keep it up high. I normally charge $1.00 per minute when I'm mowing. So min you should be at least $60.00 per hr. I'm in Australia
you should have backed the lawn truck in the garage and put the racks on it.

Hello
When operating a chainsaw, operator must be wearing proper PPE equipment. Hard hat, glasses,chainsaw chaps of the operator is on the ground in Ohio per ansi tree regulations . Also most landscaping companies nationwide don't even have the required insurance needed for tree work, so might wanna make sure your covered. Also why walk backwards with the string trimmer? You sell a product that shouldn't make a mess yet your worries about the string trimmer making a mess.? Your Asking for a broken ankle man! Talk about about a workman's comp claim. Be safe man! Fellow Ohio landscaper.

That's when a grass catcher and removal of the clippings in jobs like this make a huge difference IMHO. Rather then leaving the clippings on The yard. Of course, they have to pay !! You probably had more time messing with that back yard then you would have cutting the entire yard on the regular cut. Customers have to realize. That's some BS! .
Build some walls for the dump truck. You can fit more and do less trips, be more efficient, etc.

How do you compensate having to cut a tall yard after an act of god situation like all this rain we’ve been having and you can’t get on the lawn because it’s soaking wet and standing water in some places
You need a chipper shreader to turn it to mulch for the woods on your property
if it gets to tall when they do that i always just charge double on the lawn cut price for 2 cuts

i understand them having someone else mow but that grass isnt that tall ive seen far worse you where able to clean it up nicely on the first pass even lol

How would you handle this problem. I have a customer I been mowing for over a year now. I had them on schedule for Monday but Saturday I seen they had someone else mowing their property. I have mowed it twice this years already. How should I handle this. I have never had any complaints about my service. So I Don t know how to handle this.

Honestly. I would’ve just let them go. The neighbor cut it ? Cool let them cut it again next week then. Especially after not cutting the back. Ask the neighbor to do that too
I lost a customer from last year because the neighbor just decided to start mowing it when he does his. My first time there last year while I was doing the front yard I looked in the back and there he is just mowing away. lol like um ok, less work I guess (Not really because he left a big mess that needed mulched up)She don't even know him or talk to him lol.
