“ In a country where people are more influenced by Bollywood then education.” What should we be questioning Bollywood or our Education System?
Very well said
Actually neither. Although I know there are flaws in the education system, the real problem lies with human stupid who are unable of critical thinking and logical reasoning. Just triggered by opinions that differs from their own.
How about questioning ones parent and their upbringing? Doesn't make sense right. Let me explain.
If someone's rape someone, that doesn't mean their parent or Bollywood taught them. Upbringing does matter but ultimately one's fault is their own.
@@wowrajan but one is not independent of the surroundings.

Correcy .i agree
The jist of what Manoj said - "if one group of moralists with a set of morals are allowed to ban Kabir Singh, there would be no excuse to not allow another group of moralists with a different set of morals to ban Padmavat."
Bulls eye...
Absolutely true. That's why banning any film is not the solution, but criticising the movies are solution, because constructive criticism can help the directors if they had shown in the movie is right or wrong,
My only problem with Kabir singh was they romanticised the toxic relationship,
Reality me aisi relationships jyada din nhi chalti ye nibba nibbi wali,
Koi character development nhi tha movie me, Kabir did not become a better person, Kabir did not realised where he was wrong and how he treated was wrong. And Preeti ye sab hone ke baad bhi self respect nhi laa payi apne lie stand nhi le payi,
Imo ending should have been better, Preeti not choosing Kabir and having a spine and choosing to be a single mother rather than choosing him as a father, that would have been a better ending
This movie for me was just a glorification of toxic masculinity and toxic Femininity,
Just imagine pyar ka punchnama ka ending me teeno ladko ka breakup nhi hota but they continue to be in those relationships, that would have been glorification of toxic relationship right, same thing with Kabir singh,
Because of this people don't like this film, and criticism should be there, but I don't think banning any film is good

@2:26 the moment when you realize actually you aren't that smart you were trying so hard to be. Should Anurag Kashyap have been responsible in showing a man killing his own sister and brother-in-law brutally in front of his nephew? No one would dare ask him this stupid question? Have these women ever criticized Kareena Kappor for calling women "Tandoori chicken"? NO (by the way that line of the song is Kareena Kapoor's favourite, watch the making of the song if you don't believe me) ....When a man is shown to be a rapist in a movie that's okay but when a guy makes Pyar ka Punchanama he becomes misogynist why? Coz he showed female characters that are morally corrupt, who use men. Aren't there women like that in real world? Are all women saints? Are there no female prisons in the world? When you use logic with these liberal privileged English speaking bimbos (like Manoj Ji did here) the first word that comes out of their mouths is "BUT".....I mean they don't have brains but "BUTT" up there....
Very well said. These femenazis and libtards are hypocrites to the core.
What's Anurag Kashyap's movie that you are talking about!
Kind sir, first of all song 'fevicol' is considered as misogynist as the movie Kabir Singh. May be if you haven't run into such an opinion earlier then you have a little myopic company. Secondly, it's not the rape scenes, or violence or murder or harrasment as long this is not what the movie glorifies. In the movie Kabir Singh, it's not the hatred against a particular sex or more particularly the slaps, the domination or the overpowering of a woman's will that has been in question. This happens to be the reality in the Indian society. However, it's the glorification of these scenes. Where the Kabir Singh still remains to be the hero of the movie and in the end gets the girl. Where he insults a girl and her family and in the end blames all the fuss on her. And as conclusion gets the girl. Who, since preganent, had to be relying on a man for sustenance. This message that has been propagated for the young India, not just males but all sexes is problematic. I don't really mean to attack you but the discrimination on the basis of sex is not primordial. It has been strategically infused over the years by diverse institutional means. Movies now a days happen to be one such means. If movies only influence hairstyles then why they are censored or pg rated at times. Because it is only a dialogue and not reality. Movies influence us in great deal and as far as one may go to oppose this, implicitly they will all acknowledge it.

This same thing amjad khan saab told in his old interview
People missed the point with Kabir Singh. Kabir Singh's character was shown as a flawed one. It wasn't meant to be liked. It was a story of a character who was pathetic in dealing with his life and regretful of the decisions he made. It isn't meant to be replicated.
And the same people appreciated Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal of Joker, who was actually a psychopath and whose fans made a ruckus in US. Again, Joker's character isn't meant to be replicated. And if you still do it, you are nuts, unless it's a cosplay then go on. But the hypocrisy is bewildering. People fathom Hollywood movies and it's villainous characters like Marlon's or Pacino's portrayal of a kingpin. But they fail to realise even if some people copy it, they aren't the majority. Majority people don't have the luxury with time/money to imitate characters they see on screen.

What does it even mean? Some elements of society will always pick up the bad characters irrespective of what the creator's intention was. That shouldn't stop the creation of such characters that do exist in society. Cinema is a reflection of society and it does mildly portray such characters. Yes mildly.

Edit : I see a lot of conversation going on in the reply section. Adding something more here
Let me interpret a version of "Kabir Singh" as a movie for you.
The main protagonist here is a flawed character.
He has anger management issues and thats a real mental problem with many people. He wasn't glorified for his actions in the movie.
In first 20 mins
- He has been thrown out of his house
- He was trying to have sex threatening on a knife point
- In hospital he is sipping alcohol before operation.
Cut to flashback,
- He has a fight during football match
- Dean introduces him with Anger Management '0', compares him with a murderer for being a surgeon with such issues.
The first 20 mins itself sets the character of the protagonist It depicts how big of a moron and psycho he was.
And sorry to break this to you but there are many women who have fanatasy for such alpha males with such charectirsitic flaws.
At the end it was a movie, not everyone will like it. No one is forcing anyone to watch it, nor asking anyone to watch and say postive words about it. But the rampant hate aginst the Actor and the Director for presenting such a character and his actions, is bizzare.
In Raanjhanaa movie Dhanush the protagonist keeps on chasing Sonam Kapoor, gets slapped 16 times, cut his wrist to make her fall in love with him. Is it okay for everyone? After 8 years when she returns from Delhi things are changed, but the protagonist gooes to the extent to destroy her marriage and her life. Is this okay too? If you apply the same moral compass here, things are as pathetic here too. Dhanush's character was also a flawed one. People went bonkers on the movie and acting of Dhanush.
Personally I have a list of bollywood songs which are vulgar with it's lyrics objectifying women as just fucking sex subjects.
Has anyone stopped making them ? No
Do I watch or listen them ? No, I just hate them. I just ignore them. Plain and simple.
Most movies and TV series are fiction and are made for entertainment. They are not here to give you a social message nor change the society. @P S It never glorifies or normalise the act.It portrays as such.Just like Cersei and Jaime relation. It is not trying to glorify incest,it shows incest between them ,because that is necessary for the story. We viewers can definitely say it's a wrong thing from their side after watching that. The show focuses on her character development from a weak woman who fell in love with her rapist to a strong woman who conquered the entire world. Those scenes where necessary for her character development. And at the end she never ends up with her rapist. If she ended up with him, then your point of glorification would have made sense.

If I dislike a piece of art, I don't tell the artist not to make it. I simply say, "I didn't like it" and move on with my life. An artist should be free to express themselves however they want. It's up to us to critique it, but it's not up to us to ban something.
Very well expressed sir....To the point.
Speechless
He is so intelligent......And what a smart answer....He nailed it
bold n genius 👏👏
Yeah. . Take it the way it is
What a mature way of replying. Loved it, Manoj Vajpayee.
Manoj is a genuine bloody man. He knows the truth. Choose your battles wisely.
I'm seriously tired of this PSEUDO-FEMINISM! 😏
Time & again, it was shown that Kabir or Arjun were flawed characters!
They didn't justify the slapping!
The female character also slapped Kabir, even before Kabir!
Good time to ask this question, when pseudo's like Neha, Sonam, Loudies have been exposed!
Massive Respect For *MANOJ* *BAJPAI* 🙌🙏
How many against such pseudo's? 👇👍
But they did romanticise the whole fiasco in Kabir Singh. People are comparing Gangs of wasseypur and Joker with Kabir Singh in the comments and rightly so. But the major difference is they didn't glorify the flaws of the characters with stupid hunky-dory slow music and definitely not love songs.
@@ankita7342as per ur logic u just don't want humans.. better make a robot and start living with it which acts as per ur instructions without any emotion and brain..If we want to live with humans embrace the flaws figure out , rectify and move on ...else we end up in a place where world is place of humans with no emotions and disconnected to each other...we are not running business or contract to abide by code of conduct in personal life..we react and emote what our heart says it can be at times right and at times wrong ..spur of the moment aggression will not have so long term analysis of what could be consequences and repercussions..
Kabir Singh was such an entertaining movie why so much fuss about it
If any movie is certified as A means above 18years of age I.e. everyone is grown enough to have their on mind
If they still don't have no one can help them
@killer miller that was U/A certified propaganda film😁
True,
South indians didnt make fuss like hindi people
That’s why I love him, he is has always been very clear in his thoughts and never change his personal opinions conveniently like so called mainstream super stars, movies are business to some and to some it’s a life long passion which they don’t confuse with bloody morality, If I am a good hearted person then no movie/star/actor, can change this trait of my personality and that’s the bottom line.
"Creative work is being burdened with people's moralities"
Sounds like Aristotle to me!!
Finally someone giving a fair answer on Kabir Singh. He is a part of society. Not a character newly created
Wow!! I always supported Kabir Singh and even fought with my close friends. I am really happy to know that the dopest actor in our country supporting my opinion.😊
Very good reply !!!
What a clarity in his thoughts! 👏🏻
India : degrading community. Communalisam riots. Fake feminism
Also india: kabir ne priti ko thappad kyu mera bencho
😂😂😂
I agree that kabir slapping preeti was completely wrong.
But In Starting when preeti slapped Kabir then why it is considered as a form of love and cute???
In many movies when women slaps men then why it is considered as cute and love but opposite is abuse??
Example - ending scene of 3 idiots, thor 2 mid scene.
Violence against both genders is wrong and both should be criticised.
Wow
Claps claps claps!
An answer that shuts all mouth!
Manoj bajpey says it all
Society is not changed by a film
But film a depicts the scenarios of the society
Beautifully explained!
Manoj Sir, Earlier you made us your Fan with your acting and now we are falling in Love your interviews. You are simply Fabulous !! Your every interview is like Thug Life 👍👍
Wtf dude everyone notices bad quality of Kabir singh. Why they can't see the good quality of him.
Exactly, kisi ko yeh nahi dikha ki woh ek football champion, University topper aur ek brilliant surgeon tha.
@@banishreemohanta4588 jab ye sab cheezein ek-ek minute ke liye dikhayenge to kya ghanta dikhega audience ko

Films don’t change society, but they surely influence it. Specially in India. At the end of day I wouldn’t wish anyone be trapped in the toxic relationship that they showed in Arjun Reddy. Man or woman. The fact that so many people loved the character and related to the portrayal of love in the film speaks more about our society than it does of the presence or lack thereof of any artistic merit in the creators of the film.
Movies influence society but you know what else does:
Ceiling fans: ceilings fans might influence people to hang themselves increasing suicide rates in the country
Swimming pools: people might be influenced to jump in pools and later end up drowning
Fire: Some people might play with fire not understanding its consequences, leading to burns and possibly death,
Cars: Cars influence people to drive which leads to some people getting into accidents and possibly death,
Moral of the story: Everything is an influence in the world, hence god has given us a brain to decide what is right and wrong for us 😊

We watches movies about murder, no one wants to die either 😊
Excelent stand and view of manoj sir!!!👌👌
Changed my perception....thanks bhai and didi ji for that sawal
4:37 best quote by manoj Bajpayee👌👌👌
I think Manoj was perfectly on point on this matter
Jst awesome answer... Kudos sirji
Beautiful answer by Manoj Sir.
If gangs of waseypur was a masterpiece
Then Kabir singh is a great movie too
Not actually, unlike in Kabir singh there is no character worshipping in GOW
@Vali ya and women filing false cases to extract money is more nauseating.
@Vali ya right. Women women women women and their victim syndrome. Men are victim too and society doesn't agree. That's the question. You want to impose your side of things on cinema then how is right wing wrong in imposing their side of things.
@Vali hahaha. See it hurt you. My job is done. You are trying to impose your thoughts on cinema and rest all are wrong. Manoj has given a tight slap to you through his intelligent response. Now cry as Kabir Singh was a super hit blockbuster
@Vali miiiiissssooooogynistoc... Hahahaha. Yesss. I was waiting for words like these to corner me.. your cycle is complete. Agree with me or you are misogynistic.. hahahaha. Predictable. A loser who will file false cases in future to extract money
What a brain he has, I don't think anyone can answer this question so realistically
Very well said... great answer 👏👏👏👏
Wow. Wonderful Explanation.
