    @Joellebee_ Před 3 měsíci +125

    I believe it’s been analyzed that the siblings are meant to represent the F trauma responses. Connor(Flight), Kendall (Fight), Shiv(Freeze), Roman(Fawn). Although they all can sometimes exhibit all of these at different times it seems the assigned ones of each of these is the most dominant in the characterization. And yes, Roman was most definitely abused in childhood.

    I think Ken’s reaction to Logan hitting Roman is a very big sign that this isn’t the first time it’s happened. There have been a lot of signs in the show so far that Roman is Logan’s punching bag. Even in the first episode of season 2, Shiv says something about Logan beating Rome for ordering lobster when they were kids while Kendall always gets off easy.

      Thats because it wasn't written into the show... they just retconned it. And not even really, an HBO character page mistakenly (at that point) described Shiv as the youngest but it was literally never decided in the writers room. Jesse Armstrong then kind of half-heartedly agreed in an interview because Kieran Culkin is older than Sarah Snook.

It triggers him to see that his kids could replace him and they might actually do a good job saving the company and taking it further. A sane father would put the kids in place in key positions and not make them compete like this. I'd put Ken as ceo, Shiv in pr and Roman in finances. Yes it's nepotism, but they are actually decent at their jobs and when they actually work together they accomplish things. The best part about Kendall defending Roman is that Jeremy Strong improvised that bit. It made the character that much more complex for me; even as Logan’s lapdog, he steps to him with aggression to defend his brother. Something that’s clearly happened when they were kids

  • @zeetuslupeedus
    @zeetuslupeedus Před 3 měsíci +28

    The response to Mickey's points is always so weird to me. He's allowed to have a perspective. Given that this show is inspired by real-life people, it makes sense that he would apply his real-world perspective to his takes. I dont always agree with him, but his opinion is his opinion, and that's okay. It's really fine.

    • @barryaran6147
      @barryaran6147 Před 3 měsíci +22

      Personally, I think he has a hard time separating his beliefs on the real world from the show. I'm pretty sure that Chris also has similar beliefs, but he only brings them up when the discussion naturally flows there. That being said, I don't think he was that bad in this reaction. It was last episode where he just went on a tangent and started soapboxing for no reason.

    • @Quzga
      @Quzga Před měsícem +11

      @barryaran6147 Well said, Chris understands it's mainly a comedy and doesn't take it that seriously.
      I'm left leaning and would describe myself as quite progressive, so I do agree with most of their views, but I simply don't wanna watch someone turn succession into a political analysis..
      When he pretty much exclusively talks about politics and not the other amazingly written/acted emotional aspects of the show it tends to feel quite preachy.
      Also I feel like he doesn't understand the characters in the show and tries to make everything black or white, his comment about Logan not being anything without his wealth shows that tbh.

      Honestly it’s just kind of random, and a lot of it is somewhat shallow.
      It’s a lot of blanket statements that can just be applied to any show with rich people.

      It’s because they’re hardly his opinions. They’re trite, vague political statements you could find by randomly opening twitter or turning on a Hasan Piker stream. They’re not insightful or interesting. And I say this as a very left leaning person.

    Believe the truth of gospel 1 Corinthians 15-3 that Jesus shed his blood, dying for your sins, he was buried and rose again on the third day. Once you believe this you are sealed unto the day of redemption Ephesians 4:30, which means you cannot lose your salvation. We do good works out of love for what Jesus has done for us because out of love he died for our sins We don't do good works out of fear because we fear we might not get to heaven or out of fear we aren't saved. This is the difference between a religion and a relationship.
