EMC VNX Storage Allocation - Initiator Registration, LUN Creation, Storage Group Creation

In this video I have been talking about Storage allocation using EMC VNX - Unified box to a server.
Step 1 - Zoning of host with VNX

• Storage (SAN) Zoning
Step 2 - Initiator Registration
Install Path management software such as Unisphere host agent etc.
If above is not done, then manual initiator registration is done
Step 3 - LUN Creation
For this you need to decide whether you are going to use a storage pool or RAID Group. You need to create Storage pools manually depending upon your account needs and add different drives depending on RAID requirements too ( You can select Scheduled auto tiering for storage pools from Advanced section to allow auto tiering to take place). Step 4 - Storage Group Creation
This is basically mapping of LUNs to hosts.
Step 5 - Scan Storage on Host
This needs to be done by scanning disk management of hosts
There you go!! You should now see LUN visible to server/host.
