Kamakura is the old political capital and sometimes called as the Kyoto of eastern Japan. As it takes less than 1 hour from Tokyo, it is a popular day trip destination. The area is famous for its temples, nature, Zen gardens, history, street food, and beach.
The symbol of the Kamakura is the approximately 11-meter tall bronze statue of Buddha in Kotoku-in Temple. Enoden Line, that links the historical city Kamakura to stations like Hase, Enoshima and Fujisawa, is also very popular as it was shown in various animes, movies and video games. In this video, we visited top places of Kamakura such as Hachimangu Shrine, Hokokuji Temple, Genjiyama Park, Zeniarai Benten Shrine, Hasedera Temple, Kotoku-in Temple and Komachi Street. Among street foods, we tried Buddha-shaped cake, Sakura Dango and then ate Turkish kebab in Hase.
