"In Los Angeles all of the guys used to meet at one place, one bar every night, the Rainbow Bar - and we drank all night. That was our drinking club. Jim Morrison passed away, Jimi Hendrix passed away, John Lennon, Keith Moon, Harry Nilsson, T. Rex, I mean all of these guys were Hollywood vampires and they called us that because nobody ever saw us during the day (Iaughs). They only saw us at night and all we ever did was drink so they kind of deemed us the Hollywood vampires and then I talked to Johnny Depp then, I did a movie with Johnny and I told him about this and Johnny is a great guitar player and he said, "Well, why don't we put a band together and honor all of our dead, drunk friends?' So we did and it worked and we connected up with, you know, with Bill Austin and it just seems to be a great partnership. We'll be doing many, many more of these."

STORYLINE:
While Johnny Depp's estranged wife Amber Heard was filing a restraining order against him, he and his Hollywood Vampires bandmates were in Lisbon Friday (27 MAY 2016) attending a Starkey Hearing Foundation event ahead of a performance.
"You know if you can make somebody smile in some way and help somebody that's everything, you know?" said Depp.
Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry helped fit hearing impaired patients with free hearing devices at the event, where they laughed and joked with patients.

That was prob the hardest week of his entire life: his mother died of cancer, Amber filed for divorce, he found out that he lost millions of dollars, and the day this was filmed was the day Amber filed for a restraining order against Johnny falsely accusing him of domestic abuse. All of this and he still finds time to think of others.
I know this comment is old but I must respond..BRAVO 👏👏👏 I’m so SICK of these twisted people trying to make this very GENEROUS KIND man a evil person..it’s not the case and they need to wake up and realize JD WON his case against AH because he was telling the TRUTH!

At least, he wasn't alone when he found out about AH filing the TRO. I'm glad he had such ample and strong support amongst friends.
