Unfortunately Shakur showed us he is unwilling to exchange or even get within spitting distance of a puncher. Edwin De Los Santos would be a better match up for Tank since he pressed the action.

Under standard Las Vegas conditions (large 22 by 22 ft ring, judges that are looking to break up any holding whatsoever), Shakur outboxes Tank Davis EASILY, from start to finish. Tim Bradley explained this well in a recently posted video. Not that I'm a Shakur fan, really. It would be better to see Tank box Shakur in an 18 by 18 ft ring (the kind of ring that Canelo fought John Ryder in), and force Shakur to SURVIVE for 12 rounds to see if his boxing could save him then, but otherwise as explained above, EASY win for Shakur.

In a typical Las Vegas ring (22 by 22 ft), and with typical Las Vegas scoring (where clean punches landing to the head are much more valuable than simply "pressing the fight"), Shakur wins an easy unanimous decision. Imagine Frank Martin landing cleanly on Tank for the first 5 rounds (which more or less did happen). Shakur does that for 12 rounds, not that it will be effortless, but it would still happen. As far as Shakur Stevenson's next fight, even if he doesn't beat his opposition as as overwhelmingly as people expect (but in this case, he probably will), it does NOT change how the fight goes with Tank. It's a "styles make fights" situation.
If Shakur ran for 12 rounds against De Los Santos, do you really think anything will be different against Tank? No thanks, not interested. Shakur should rematch de Los Santos first

Shakur has more interviews than fights. He’s not an exciting fighter… AT ALL. NO ONE watches shakur fights and after his latest one, people said it was the most boring fight ever and he was running all over the ring from someone that’s nowhere near the level of a Tank. There’s a reason that Garcia, Haney, Davis and MANY others have zero interest in fighting Shakur.
