Michael Keaton has an extremely diverse filmography. Different genres, different types of characters, and he nails every single one of them. Hard to believe it's the same guy in all of them. From wacky comedies to gut wrenching dramas to thrillers.
_Pacific Heights_ was incredible, and creepy!

This was such a fun film back in the day. I remember my 19 year old self leaving the movie theater completely smitten with Winona Ryder.
34 years later & this is still a fantastic film & I still love Winona!🤣
Tim Burton did 1989's Batman, with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Danny Elfman did the orchestral soundtrack and Prince did a pop soundtrack.

It's funny how Beetlejuice's iconic outfit is that black and white suit. But, he's only in it for a few seconds.
I think you might like a scary movie called The Others and if you're looking for another ghost movie that's scary, but has funny parts, you might try The Frighteners. Michael J. Fox is in that one.
Such a fun movie to watch. Even all these years later.

A Definite Must See
One of Tim Burton's greatest movies of all time! It was his second film after directing Pee Wee's Big Adventure, so while that film was Tim learning to walk, Beetlejuice was DEFINATELY Tim Burton running!
BeetleJuice 2 is in production.
Before Micheal Keaton did movies, he was a stand-up comic, then he did a sit-com on television. Not to different from Jim Carrey's path. Keaton's first two movies were great; Night Shift and Mr. Mom.
Another one that I like is an assemble cast called The Dream Team with Michael, Christopher Lloyd, Peter Boil. It's about 4 mental patients who go out for a day at the ballpark but get separated from the one caring for them. Pretty good
One of Burton's best with an iconic Keaton having a field day (he won The NY Film Critics Award for Best Actor for this & CLEAN AND SOBER - a drama you s/see just to see his versatility. Knew you'd dig this.

Miriam Flynn played in another hilarious comedy, 1983's National Lampoon's Vacation with Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Eugene Levy, and Christie Brinkley, among others. In another note, Mr. Mom was another Michael Keaton role about 6 movies (5 years) before Beetlejuice. It was also a comedy, but very different from this one. I'll bet they'll have you quoting a bunch of lines for the forever.
Such a weird movie with a wonderful charm and atmosphere. One of my favorite Burton movies

I love this movie immeasurably; grew up watching it with my brothers countless times. But there are some parts of it that are so hard to explain why it's funny, but it's just so darn funny.
An absolute gem of a movie!
I love the waiting room in the afterlife. The makeup is so unique and each person died under different circumstances. The case worker and the blue woman behind the desk committed suicide. Now they have to work in civil service jobs.

I love this movie. The red haired woman is Catherine O'Hara a great Canadian-American comedic actress that started out on a comedy series called Second City TV, She has been in many films and TV productions, and still is.
What a great idea! Beetlejuice meets the Mask! I'd love to see that movie! They might have to do it animated though.

Never got how they died when both of their windows were open when the car fell off the bridge and I doubt the water was that deep.
Michael Keaton apparently improvised a lot of his scenes.

There's suppose to be a part 2 coming out . Although I don't know when . One thing I do like in this movie , is the catch phases from Beetle Juice .
I wish they would make a sequel or prequel just as good if not better as the first Beetlejuice. It would be great to Michael Keaton come back as Beetlejuice cause his performance was completely flawless. Also if you want another classic movie about ghosts, check out Ghost (1990) staring Patrick Swayze.
Hopefully the sequel Bettlejuice Bettlejuice, doesn’t disappoint. 🦾

Actually, I did think of a movie where the ghosts are scared. A Stephen King movie called "The Frighteners", stars Michael Fox. Some of the ghosts are scared of other ghosts...but it's less of a comedy and more paranormal/action/thriller I think.
It’s a fun film. The excellent use of special effects on the ghosts one of the reasons Peter Jackson was given the freedom to go ahead & direct the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
You 2 are a very unique couple and I enjoy your reactions because they're so genuine and not forced at all, I'm surprised you're not married yet. The only comedy movies I can suggest are the Monty Python movies or the original "Bedazzled" movie from the 1960's with Dudley Moore and Peter Cook, when a man tries to cheat life by asking the devil to help him but things keep going in the wrong direction than what he expects.
This is a family favorite.

If you like Jim Carrey, I challenge you to watch THE CABLE GUY; that's his creepiest piece of work. Give it a go.

I hear that Johnny Depp is joining the cast and that would be cool. Johnny and Wynona were a couple for about 4 years in the early 90's. They were even engaged, and she vouched for him during that Amber Heard fiasco
This was a fun one for your reactions Marian and Joy. I can't think of any movies where the ghost is the one scared...but there is an older movie that I think you would both find funny called "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" a 1966 American comedy horror film...not much really for horror now a days though.
The cartoon of Beetlejuice was really popular too.

I used to work armed security at a haunted mill. got ambushed by the shadow on the 3rd floor and came too close to emptying a mag of hollow points rounds. That area was the one place my hand was ever on the holster waiting to see what kind of prank the shadow figure would pull. I think his goal was getting me to shoot mine was to not get into a situation where that might happen.

@@0okamino It was a long hallway where in one section it was completely dark every guard got jump scared there at least once because turning around there would sometimes be a shadow like someone was standing right at the edge between the light or darkness or a figure would run across the hall and looked real enough to be a person.
