Did anyone else catch that Theodore had a near death experience? “Yes”, he said, “someone does love me. I met him.” Awesome.
Unsung heroes, the people who do the cleanup after the trauma is over. It goes without saying the medical and nursing staff are awesome.
But thise who clean up are also important members of the larger team in A&E.
Huge smile on my face seeing Theodore alive, then standing up, and able to walk. Great job of the hospital staff and Theodore's loving family.
That was an absolutely stunning story! To not only save a man with injuries that extensive, but to also get him to a state where not only his broken, flayed, and degloved limbs were not just saved but functional and his pelvis was put back together so that he is able to walk again?! Bravo doctors, surgeons, and all medical professionals involved. Everyone who played a part was important, from person collecting dressings, the people securing lines and shunting off torn open and gushing vessels to get the bleeding under control, to the humble and rarely mentioned clean up crew with their mops, disinfectant, fresh bedding, and biohazard bags of linens for the laundry. All of those are equally important. We appreciate all of you.
I legitimately gasped. Absolutely incredible, he must have worked so hard for it.
Malcolm is a great superior. Actually praising his team, being on top of things and selfcritical.
I so agree when I grow up i really want to be a consultant like malcom
Yes! Lots of times you get leaders who degrade their teams, can't keep on task, and are overly critical of their team members' actions, which is exactly the wrong combination. Anyone lucky enough to get a superior like Malcolm, regardless of what the job is will certainly have the opportunity to do their best work.
Juicy 🧃
I'm very impressed by the organisation they all did. To see the recovery makes me astonished, never even thought they all make it through. At least Theodore has a new birthday.
@@niksuch4169 it's organization not organisation. Just saying
"Will you stop him from going up any more ladders?" "No, I wouldn't do that. I'll just make sure I'm there holding it!" This is what support looks like. What a beautiful couple ; o;
The team that worked on Theodore are absolutely amazing. It was an honour watching them. 🙏🏻🇨🇦
It's amazing that they can put these people back together. Not only save their lives, but make them whole again.
Malcolm is one top-tier Doc!! Has a heart of freakin gold & loves his patients & is so thorough in his job💯👌🏻
So Much Respect For Malcolm & His Team Frm Aussieland
And from Minnesota, USA
This is my favorite British docu-series.❤ Thank you for uploading.
Yeah, unless you’re in the UK where the uploader has blocked it from being seen!
We need more caring and thorough Doctors like Malcolm! Oh, my days! Quite often we see Doctors that just don't care enough or not at all. They do as minimal as possible, write out scripts not needed, and only car about the money coming in. Malcolm is a Superhero! Even when not at work he is still checking into see how patients are and checking to make sure he has done the right thing and everything he can for his patients. As well as cheering his team on by thanking them and giving them praise. Respectful to both staff and patients. Go Malcolm!!
Amazing team. This Consultant is excellent, well prepared, and caring, Speaking as an ex NHS worker who has been in that work situation. Respectful of his team members.....just a dream to work alongside. Bravo!!!!
So many consultants are the polar opposite of this guy, he's amazing and reminds me of my old neurosurgeon 💜
It seemed to me that Theodore was hinting at a Near Death Experience. When the interviewer said "Someone up there loves you," he said "I know, I met him . . ." Very interesting!
Yep, that's what I commented too. I like to know his experience.
Yes! As soon as he said, "I know, I met Him"...I knew he had an NDE.
@@mjblue84 Wonderful!
What a absolutely stunning episode they way they showed Theodore at the end - better than a million movies. Amazing staff, amazing producers - just amazing.
A million times better than most of the trash Hollywood is coming out with!
The doctors and paramedics and nurses on the series are so great! Very compassionate and caring! So glad Theodore did well. ❤❤
Malcolm was right. Superb care by all involved when handling Theodore's case.
Nurses are not just human beings. They are angels.
Wow! What an exceptional human being Malcolm is!!
The nurse at 37:53 is amazing
I know these episodes are few years old. But definitely love watching them. Especially since being a retired paramedic. The staff work very well together, I truly respect the sisters Claire N. Jen D. And Abbi plus the rest of the staff.
Best part of my morning today when I watched Theodore get up out of that wheelchair and walk off frame!
Deep, deep respect for all of you. Your love, knowledge, professionalism, and your sense of humor. Cheers! 🧡
This Dr. Was so Amazing as were the Entire staff. Bravo!
The teamwork and precision of this team is awesome. Thank you for what you do from. USA 🇺🇸
WoW just WoW, I'm impressed. What a brilliant documentary.. I only discovered the existence of this channel a few hours ago. This is a real, uncensored, unvarnished and honest look, at the heroes and heroines of emergency medicine. I finished the "Extreme A&E" series and am going through their other medical based documentary videos.
I hope this channel's incredible medical documentaries, inspire you and the next generation to study medicine. If you can watch this, while feeling you want to be in the room helping, in any capacity, and are clever enough. Then you CAN be among those who save lives, every single work day. From the nurses, to the doctors, to the EMTs, or be it an orderly or administrator. There are plenty of opportunities and skillsets, that come together to orchestrate a symphony of saving lives.
Ooh, I sure did tear up when reading in the end that Theodor survived and that they somehow put him together again well enogh that he can walk, and walk without support at that, ooh that made me so happy.
I were also very happy the others got well as well.
Fantastic people at this hospital.
I just love his wife the man who fell from a ladder . What he don't remember she will tell him lol .Bless there hearts 60 Year's.May you have many more .✝️☮️💜🙏
He reminds me of my father. You couldn't stop him from doing all those things so I would be there to watch out for him when he was older. I miss him so much!
@@autodogdact3313 And his wife reminds me of my grandmother. She seems so sweet.
@@jwalt8019 It is a wonderful thing that we see those we loved so much in others. My dad was named Tom as well and was one of those people who was always ready to help others. I remember when I was little (I was always his shadow) he took me to help out people who had been victims of a hurricane. He taught me so much.
The way she said “Are you hungry?” As he had a oxygen mask over his mouth, like he could eat even if he was hungry 😂
I have tears in my eyes, watching these remarkable, dedicated people carry out their jobs to save peoples lives.
Absolute incredible teamwork!!! I am amazed!!!!
I loved the nurse telling the doctor to come back tomorrow 😂
I love how he praises his crew! Most bosses don’t even do that! All they have to say is what is wrong
I liked Tom's wife. Her humor kept her together but you could see she really cared.
These are the kind of people that do medicine proud. There are many like them who are represented by Dr. Malcolm, Sister Jen, and Dr. Firas - who wasn't in this episode but is often seen in these programs. I think we could all point to one or more dedicated physicians who has made an enormous difference in our own lives. I'm grateful to them all.
I love Malcolm. His superiority is great. I wish all authorities were like him. But sadly, that is not how this world works
Amazing show! Please upload more
The fact that the one doctor near the end thought a severely concussed William was going to remember his instructions is concerning.
Theodore truly had a guardian angel looking over him 💙
It is as true as it is said.
One minute one of your loved ones is there, and the next minute they are gone. It happened to me when I lost my father, who was only 49 years old. ❤️😢
43:15 Holy shh.... That looks BAD. How is that mess even possible to fix...
45:22 Holy shh... HOW???
Mind-blowing. Amazing job Doctors.
The Dr. was so excited about the guy being folded in half :)
You’re not joking! He really was.
Yes. It was a little disconcerting how excited he got and had to keep sharing the news
He was like a school kid gossiping 🤨
@@jenijanewilliams6033 Well, at least it's nice to see doctors passionate
I was okay with his first instance saying "juicy."
But then he said, "juicy, juicy, juicy!"
Yuck.
At the end "oh bumholes" before she answers the phone lol
Malcolm was really in high spirits telling people about that guy with the broken pelvis. That guy had a NDE if I'm not mistaken.
You are not mistaken! He did experience an NDE!!!!
Malcolm is a gem. ❤
Malcolm, wonderful Dr, great leader..he makes the team feel that they belong.
So much Respect for this people
Watching this makes you ask: Who looks after the rescue crews? They deal with trauma, seeing things that no one should see. They are so kind, dedicated, I can’t watch any more but they have no choice😢😢😢😢😢😢😢❤ to them😢😢😢😢😢😢
The Team leaders always have an eye on the first responder teams and after heavy cases they always have a debriefing.
usually they also have people who are trained in mental health to whom the first responders can talk to.
Leanne, you don't just know 'a bit about everything!'
Yoy know a lot about a lot of stuff. That's why you are such an amazing team there at Kings.
I find the comparison of people who "comment" about waiting an hour to be treated in the ER vs the same situation in a metropolitan US Emergency Room interesting.
The last time I went to the ER I was triaged within an hour, but then had an 8 hour wait to be taken back to a bed. I think it was about an hour after that when a doctor was available to see me. (It was a legit ER visit - I'd developed a large infection following a surgery and came in with a fever of 102.7°F. Just in case anyone's wondering or thinking I was there for a hang-nail ...lol)
All told I was in the hospital for about 30 hours (had to have IV antibiotics, which took several more hours to administer) and I think the total bill after my insurance "paid" their portion was around $6,500.
These Londoners get seen in less than 4 hours (per NHS guidelines), and it's all covered by the NHS.
I know they pay HUGE taxes, comparatively, and there can be tremendous waits for surgeries and specialist doctors, BUT it certainly sounds like it might be worth it to get this level of care ...
The grass always "seems" greener, though .... Doesn't it?
😊
The taxes aren't even that much higher when you consider the cost of health insurance premiums and deductible and even the cost of stuff that Americans buy out of pocket without even thinking about it- wheelchairs, home helps etc
I could watch Malcom work everyday.
That made me kind of mad that that nurse waited 3 days to take her limping kid to get his foot checked
3 year old boys are crazy, so if they’re limping you know something is legitimately wrong
Lol you have no idea my kids use to get up to all types of mischief to get out of school, sports etc.
Likely the best as satisfying episode of this series
I would love to me Sister Jen she seems like a genuinely sweet lady and how well she deals with patients.
Countrecoup injury. What is a Contrecoup concussion?
Contrecoup occurs when a force or blow causes the brain to strike the side of the skull opposite from the point of impact. These injuries often occur in motor vehicle rollover accidents and motorcycle crashes.17 June 2022
Aka ricochet injury.
I found this show a few days ago and I just love it.
Love this series
So Selfless of Dr. Malcolm. Bravo 🎉❤
Amazing that the guy run over by the bus survived.
It's almost kind of sad how excited this doctor is to walk around and explain that this man was folded in half and has a shattered pelvis but then I have to remember doctors have a passion for their job and it's like exciting to see things
Wow, Theodore, it was awesome to see you lookung so well, and then for yoy to stand and walk away!
Srat safe and well.
The wife 😂😂 “are you hungry”
I know where I am. I died and gone to heaven, and you two are the beautiful angels sent to greet me.
I love this show! I just wish i could understand what they are saying! 😊 What's hurting turns into I'm starting in the closed captions.
This is a great series.... and the music is excellent also
Malcolm I salute you
Amazing. People. All of them
Tom is so silly, I just want to hug him to bits.😼
If you don't care about what you doing what's the point doing it
What's a beautiful words
Leanne is a great nurse
This is epic
Tom's daughter just floored me she had her dad climb a ladder because she can't do heights, what the heck is wrong with her! Hire someone and don't mention those kind of jobs to your dad, think about it!
this is so dramatic. like you’ve never asked your parent to do something for you? accidents can happen at anytime, doing anything. don’t blame her for something that could have happened to him either way.
" We got a quite a juicy one coming in " - Malcom MD
You do not need a red cape to be a Super Hero... you just have to work in a hospital..
What year were these filmed? Totally addicted.
November 18th, 2010 is the date on Theo's CT scan. 43:15.
He’s thinking of every possible outcome he may have
Based on these different shows, I can tell that UK-based A&E departments are superior to the world
Wow the have Angel with this side ❤ ❤ thank you doktors and nurses ❤
Am I the only one who is a little shocked that Tom lies there for ages, without being really helped and that even though he flew off the ladder. 17:56
Music is too loud! Cannot hear the stories!
William:" ... that I'm at King's Cross..."
Doc: *gives up*
William: *zzzzz*
My Continuous Ongoing Thoughts Prayers Going Up Always 💟🛐🙏🏾
43:15- Whoa! That CT scan!!!
Like an anthill that got kicked...uff da. I was happiest doing geriatrics & oncology, and after 52 1/2 years, I retired as a Hospice nurse. It was hard to hear compliments from those that are helped, because nursing was my job, one that I'd always wanted since I was 12 y/o. Even with all the ups and downs, multiple demands from changing laws & various facility administrations rules, it was still a wonderful career. There just wasn't an appropriate come-back to those folks who said thank-you. And often, I wished we had a better response than thank-you for major events in our lives.
Barbara looks like Mrs. Brown
Our ER is slow
Why would you expect your 77 year old Father to help paint?????? Seniors lose balance easily. No ladders!!!!!
Yeah I hope his daughter feels really guilty.
Dear Merciful Goddess, please don't let me be a juicy one. Egad.
They put that bandage on not knowing how very painful it is when it has to be removed, doctor’s and nurses should put it on themselves and see how it feels when they pull it off. I just had my 18th surgery and I made sure that nobody uses it anymore on me.
Do we have to have the music?.
77 yo man painting on a ladder over a staircase. I think it's time to leave it to the professionals mate. Nice try though. Anything for family
Theodore, why did you step out in front of the bus ?
Her face when they they had cut his pants 😂😂😂😂 28:13
Θεοδωρε αν το διαβαζεις σιδερενιος !!! Καλη συνεχεια
What's up with the disturbing music all through the upload
Re blood in bag for emergency, how do they know what blood type the patient has?
O + is universal. Any blood type can take it.
They use the universal type in those sitiations
Love the RN that took splinters out with the needle. Have done that many times!😂😂. ICU nurses aren’t sympathetic to family and friends medical issues either!😅😅
40:00 lolol they’re numbed by the experiences.
💜💜💜💜
Why have so many people standing around just watching?
I have a question. I'm American and I don't understand what does sister mean? Is that a nurse? Or maybe nursing aid.
Its a nurse. There used to be nuns as nurses. After that changed they just kept on calling nurses sister.
@@pegs1659 thank you. Makes sense now.
They still have nuns in some places in the USA.
This guy really thinks ahead
I can't stop laughing how this dr never stopped talking about thr Greek guy with smashed hip
