  • Intervista di Kobe Bryant in Italiano andata in onda su sportitalia l'8/04/07 durante la partita Lakers-Suns. Prima Parte
    Translation :
    Well, first this is a bit embarrassing for me because I'd started elementary school in
    Italy but I speak italian for many years and it was remained on me but few few so I did this
    interview in italian and in english...so can you ask me another time the question ?
    what's remained on you about the years passed in italy ?
    the passion, the passion for the life the passion to play basketball , the thing that you love
    to do for the whole life , always the passion. In italy there's the passion for the family , with
    the son with the whole important things for you...italy will have always a pieces of my heart
    where the lakers can go ?
    I don't know depends because we had many injured players during the season , they didn't played or only
    20-5 games ,so we didn't played much games all togheter but now we are here and I hope that at the end of
    season 'surprise some people' .
    what or who miss the lakers to win a championship ?
    the things that miss .. we don't miss much , we are very near to be a team taht can win a championship
    maybe a player there or here ... but not much
    scorer or assistman, how born the choice ?
    it's only basketball , I think that when I play I watch only the things that happen during the game. I don't think to score
    or to pass the ball , I'm only watching the defense and watch the things that they are doing and if they give me a shot
    I shot the ball or if there's an open player , I pass the ball. I don't begin/enter in a game thinking
    about to score 50 or 65 points or have 13 assists I don't think that I go only to play the game and reading the defense.
    did you have something to avoid bad luck?
    (yes..ahahah)
    I don't think that's a thing that I do ... eh when I go to throw a free throw I do always that ... I don't know why , I don't
    know where it was began , I haven't idea but it's a thing that I need to do every free throw. I have to do at every free throw.
    what's the best moment of your career ?
    I think the first championship because the first championship it's always more special and..it's the first time...because the first time
    will have ever -... very special place in my memory
    The relationship with phil jackson it's getting better than he wrote 'Last Season' ?
    He did 180°are like it, we talk about all, if it's about the team , the game or also things outside the game , like life,family,son..
    we talk about all
    will you wear the shirt of the USA team at the Pechino olimpycs ?
    Yes, absolutly , and it's a big honour for me to play for the USA team , it's a dream for me I would play also last season
    but I couldn't play for my knee but this summer I hope to play and also for teh olympics ... I'm ready
    Which player did you vote for the MVP this season ?
    It's difficult this year , every years it's always diffficult ...maybe nowitzki bacause dalls had a special season beacuse they
    are winning 62-63 games ..it's historic..maybe nowitzki
    value and fault of andrea bargnani ?
    I like much andrea bargnani because when you have a player tall like him but can shoot from 3 it's more difficult defend on him
    he's young he have to improve but I hear that he works hard , like playing basketball...and when you have this 2 things the future
    is very bright for him.
    who's the opponent that you much respect ?
    there's a lot...because the NBA is special because every day you need to be ready because there's the better player of the world so
    every team that we meet every night ..I have much respect for them.
    Who's the best player you ever seen ?
    Well...directly I'd seen much players Jordan, Magic Johnson Larry Bird...on movie I'd seen Wirl Chamberlain Oscar Robertson
    Jerry West Bill Russell...well for me the best are Jordan and Magic....(and kobe? ) Nooo I have many years ..thans a lot but
    Jordan and Magic are my idols
    HI Sportitalia and Hi to all the italian fans

    Speaks better Italian than most of these Italians in New York and New Jersey

    • @suerte03211978
      @suerte03211978 Před 9 lety +83

      Because Italians in New York mostly come from the South. They speak in dialects, not exactly Italian.

    • @Vylkeer
      @Vylkeer Před 9 lety +21

      Mr. Wolfgang That's also because if you are referring to people born in the State of NY with some Italian ancestries that doesn't make them Italian Americans, as your statement demonstrate. If you were referring to real Italian Americans, so people born and grown up in Italy and then moved to Jersey or Brooklyn etc ... then it's weird as they should be able to fluently speak Italian. Unless they speak in dialect so it's not really Italian.

    • @Vylkeer
      @Vylkeer Před 9 lety +9

      ***** That's totally untrue. Ignorants generally speak exclusively dialects but if a person speaks both the national language and some dialects of their city/region every now and then, is not that big of a deal.

    • @Vylkeer
      @Vylkeer Před 9 lety +12

      ***** I'm sorry man, I forgot to tell you: I'm Italian. I come from Naples and I know how ignorant people behave. The Italian Americans (so people born and grown up in Italy and then moved to the States) generally don't know English that well but indeed know Italian more than well, as it is their native languages, even though they might speak in almost only in dialect and you can feel it when they try to speak English. Italian is the official launguage of Italy and spoken by, I think, the 95% of people or around there but every region and every town/city has their own 'local' language and in some cases it's even more important than the National language. Even I speak Neapolitan sometimes but not because I'm ignorant but because I like it and it's my City's official language. Italy is known for having hundreds of different accents and dialects throughout the country. It's normal that every Italian, other than the official language, speaks their own native dialect. Ignorant people are the ones that can only speak their dialects and not Italian. A lot of people living in America with Spanish/Mexican descent can't speak English that well, so you have a similar problem.

    • @corrado
      @corrado Před 9 lety +11

      +suerte03211978 hey genius, allow me to inform you that EVERY single region of Italy has it's own dialect from top to bottom. If you visit any city in Italy they speak pure Italian, especially with strangers. Dialect is something you speak in the house or with close friends/family. The only reason why most tri-state area Italians don't speak fluently is because they've been here for generations and have adapted to English, so generations later of course their Italian will naturally be lacking.

      @corrado Před 9 lety +4

      +CyranoRenato1966 No, it's not about where you're from... It's about how you've lived your life. Some people care about being articulate, and others don't care and stick to dialect. That goes for any region of Italy, not just the south.

    I've just discovered Kobe can speak Italian, and as an Italian, I'm shocked by how well he can do it! Didn't know he spent sometime in Italy when he was little, at elementary school. My admiration for this person just grew by 200% :)
    To those asking how his Italian was: I gotta say that I'm overall impressed but obviously you can tell he doesn't speak Italian on a daily basis and it's not his native language. There were some grammar mistakes and the pronunciation was fairly good, but as I said that's fantastic for an American man.

    • @Vylkeer
      @Vylkeer Před 9 lety +3

      SlickWilly Mhm, not at all. From my experience, the two languages sound alike but if you fluently know one, doesn't guarantee you can understand the other. My native language is Italian and I can only catch a few Spanish words, get the sense of them, but just couldn't hold a fluent conversation.

    • @Shendue
      @Shendue Před 9 lety +3

      SlickWilly: You wouldn't be able to understand everything, as some words are completely different. But you'll probably get the general meaning. I was actually able to conversate with some spanish people when in vacation in Spain about trivial stuff like soccer matches by talking in our respective languages. And with just the help of one of those small dictionaries for tourists as a reference i was able to substain a more complex conversation with a spanish couple and they even complimented on my spanish, which i never studied at all.

      OneSuperfruitNut nooo not at all just cringe that after a tragic death we all start this nostalgic bandwagon of lies. His Italian was good but he admitted many times his Italian was very rusty and could not have complex convos. You can also hear his accent. That’s not taking away from his language abilities - just being honest.
