+piano des your point is exactly the same as mine ..many years ago I gave a lift to a scooter boy to a rally in Morcombe ...on a bike. ..I was a bit concerned for my safety. ..But I never had any trouble and have never met such a great crowd of people as scooter riders. .I made a few new friends and had a bloody good weekend. . would love to attend rallies again. But not sure about turning up on my mp3 500. (even if it IS a piaggio )
After years on a serious motorcycle I had to sell it and now the only option was a chinese scooter! I always loved to ride a scooter one day so that dream came true!!! They only sell chinese scooters here in Chile and with a little more maintanance they offer the same of fun!!! Being welcome with my chinese made scooter gives me a good reason to hop over the atlantic!!! Thanks for the invitation!!
Back in the eighties my scooter club fed up with the bikers throwing shit at us every time we rolled through to Morecambe, pulled over and literally did beat the bikers.
It's a tongue in cheek name for the rally as Matlock has always been a bikers stronghold, so we get in there early to beat them to the parking spaces. it's all good humoured these days.
piano des You've got it all wrong mate, its friendly rivalry ( not like in the past ).Most scooterists and bikers get along fine ( after all we are all on two wheels and suffer from the same legislation,bias etc. )The title is tongue in cheek and refers to getting the parking spaces in Matlock first before the bikers arrive ( as they do in their droves every weekend),thanks for watching .

Was a lot of that back then,we usually had to run the gauntlet through Driffield on our way to Scarborough.
