    Chapters:
    ❤️ What is baklava?
Baklava is a sweet pastry that is made of phyllo dough and various nuts. The most commonly used are walnuts. The baklava also uses cinnamon, sugar, butter and the right amount of pistachios. This cake is very sweet because it is mixed with syrup, which is poured over the finished baking. This syrup consists of sugar, water and rose water or orange blossom water. It is without a doubt a flagship example of Turkish sweetness, which is praised by every person who tasted it.
❤️ Gozleme - a dish for any time of the day
Gozleme is a very popular snack that is served at any time of the day. It is very common in Turkish bars, which are abundant in the streets of cities such as Istanbul and Ankara. Gozleme is a bread that can have various shapes and fillings. Gozleme eaters are delighted that the dough is crisp and full of interesting stuffing at the same time. Both meat and vegetarian versions are served. They are fried in a small amount of rapeseed oil until golden brown. The oil has a very high temperature, which makes the frying process very fast. Without a doubt, when in Turkey, you have to try what the local gozleme taste like.
❤️ Kumpir - Turkish style baked potato
Poles love potatoes, so they will surely be delighted with kumpir, a baked potato. The potatoes are baked in a special oven and then cut in size to add butter, salt and cheese to the inside. It is a dish very similar to the Polish jacket potatoes. In Turkish bars and restaurants, apart from cheese and butter, you can also get other extras, such as ketchup, mayonnaise, corn, peas, olives, slices of Turkish sausage and pickled vegetables. Many bars also serve them with homemade sauces, so the taste experience can be even more subjective and site-specific.
❤️ Kunefe - the queen of Turkish sweets
Despite the fact that Turkey is most often associated with meat dishes, variations of which are also available in Polish bars and kebab restaurants, it is also worth tasting local sweets. Kunefe, a crispy kadayif cake, which is a chewy sheep's or goat's cheese, is definitely a sweetness worth trying. Such a dough is covered with a sweet syrup based on sugar and water, just like in the case of baklava. This dessert is served with milk or bananas. The recipe for the dough is extremely simple, as you only need to put the cheese between two layers of kadayif dough, then fry the whole thing on both sides until golden brown and finish the whole process by dousing the dough with syrup. It is the second most popular Turkish dessert after baklava.
    ❤️ Locma - Turkish donuts
Donuts are a very popular dessert in Poland, although some of us may consider it endemic to Polish cuisine and culture, many countries also prepare more or less similar sweets. Locma is a donut that is deep-fried and then soaked in sugar syrup. As you can see, this type of confectionery process is very popular in Turkey. Often, sweet syrups are used to give the sweet a strong aroma. Turkish donuts are served all year round and are available from street vendors and in front of restaurants. It is worth noting that this dessert is associated with a certain tradition, according to which these donuts should be served at a funeral to people participating in the rituals.
