In different cultures, like mine, people don't take this too seriously. In many cultures, loot boxes in games are seen as normal. If we find a loot box in a game, it's just considered a regular thing, so the whole "gambling" aspect isn't taken as a big deal. (If you ask what a loot box is basically gambling for items)

although I think I remember some cultures take a stance of "if a person is stupid enough to allow themselves to be taken advantage of, just let them until they learn."
The ones taking advantage of another are praised as 'clever' instead of predatory. Interesting perspectives to be sure. Not people I would ever trust, associate with, or enable.
I always thought it was obvious, p2w is the act of buying ingame items for the soul reason to progress faster than others.

As a victim of these P2W servers, I want to thank you for making this video. I've spent a good 70 dollars on the Loverfella servers and after I started watching these types of griefing P2W servers I saw how foolish and vulnerable I was. Thank you so much for creating awareness and helping people who may be affected by these scammers.
Lovercraft is eula compliant now. They’re featured on Microsofts official server list which means they had to go through the process of having microsoft/gamesafer approve everything on their store

My friend owned a Minecraft server called HypeGen that sadly shut down because of someone nuking it. There was no pay to win. You could only buy cosmetics like special particles. Anyway the nuker posted it on CZcams along with a couple other videos of him nuking servers claiming that they are “pay to win” which they weren’t.
ive had an experience like that too, was an admin of a server that got ratted and destroyed by a youtuber who makes his fans put rats in plugins. its why my opinion of antip2w has been tanked heavily
this is why i don't really support vigilante justice, sure, you might be pointing your finger at the right place, but there might be someone inspired on you that will point at innocent bystanders either by lack of good judgement or on bad faith just to be famous, although i do like this content, it's much more of an issue for me when it comes to real life and more serious crimes, but that's something i don't want to go on a deep dive on.
The problem is, some of the servers that said they would "change," go back to the old ways after a few months or years. it doesn't matter if we can change them or should change them, it's if they will keep the changes.
Giving them a chance to change and if they go backwards then going brute force is how it should be done
My own opinion on it is that people focus too much on the PAY aspect of pay-to-win, even including absurd examples like Hypixel skyblock for the gems/booster cookies system. I think that the WIN part should decide whether a server is p2w, as my definition of p2w is "A server where content is locked, either directly or via a near unachievable grind, behind a paywall, or where a competitive advantage can be obtained by monetary methods alone." It doesn't include gambling, although it is harmful, due to the possibility of crates being for cosmetics only.
This definition means that skyblock is NOT p2w, as whilst it is inconvenient to be a non, no actual content is impossible to access, nor is the difficulty of accessing that content meaningfully different for a non vs a ranked player.
Pay to win just means pay to recieve an advantage over someone who hasnt paid, hypixel skyblock is absolutely pay to win as i could just buy anything you have/want with irl money

I think servers should be allowed to have their own rules, but i don't think mojang should ban mods from everywhere, the server owners should get to decide who their servers are for.

Yeah, that idea of listing server in multiplayer tab kinda exist in bedrock edition, where they anounce some servers in the actual game.
that's how things seem to be going, while java edition goes more and more to the bottom of pit, the bedrock edition shines more

As a server owner, I would hate to make my server pay to win, so the only things I sell are cosmetic items and 1 rank for donators I do have crates but you can't buy the keys but if I was forced to make it p2w I would

Do u think it would be a good idea to take a free to play model akin to Warframe's model (u CAN pay for a premium currency that u can trade to other players for in-game currency as an option, or u can just trade any item u want in exchange for any item u want. u can also use the premium currency for like some things u can't buy but u can also as an option grind in the game to earn it, but it itself what ur getting isn't powerful unless u make it powerful.) and use that in a minecraft server?

honestly, as a lot of minecraft's players are children, and they don't care, i don't think the minecraft community trying to do something will do anything. there are very low odds that the children will care, unless one of the kids channels like unspeakable or preston will make their audience do something.

My guy, the money doesn't go to Mojang, all of it goes straight to them, they're the ones that host the website that makes you buy things.

@goldendrake8264 Java servers are mainly hosted by 3rd party organisation's with they own shop from wich Mojang doesn't get a share. Microsoft only profits from bedrock servers cause most of the purchases are made over the minecraft marketplace.
@@Borux0Microsoft profits indirectly, because more money spend on these servers makes enhancements of gameplay experience more likely, which draws in more kids buying licenses for the game, because they want to join their friends on the funny purple prison server.

Their is a pixelmon server SmashMC you can pay to win so easily with crates, lucky blocks etc. They do have a yt Channel. My opinion is neutral abt this server bc you don't need money to win but I can easily get on baltop with money

If a server only sells ranks which are just name tags or cosmetics, leave it alone but anything else is p2w. Anti p2w means only receive money for name tags or cosmetics.
So basically what ur trying to say is that p2w via crates or just selling "things that arent available for a f2p palyer" are bad, but u also say that theres just no fucking way for a minecraft server, especially a big one, to live on without any sorts of payment in the server? For me it sounds hella crazy that its ig basically mojang forces u to add some p2w shit on a server for iy to just live since they give basically no support on the servers. Beyond the normal service costs, any additional costs are entirely arbitrary and because of the decisions of the owner. Not necessity. Cry me a river that the cost of a server goes up due to them desiring server growth.
Which is for what? A larger pool of suckers to put gambling in front of.
They left out the most important part of why the servers cost so much.
Maybe you consider that part of the cost of the server, but I don't.
Technically loot boxes and crates are different from gambling because with loot boxes and crates you always get something whilst with gambling there is a possibility of you getting nothing and I believe that's the reason that in the Mojang guidelines they are separated

The impression I have of you is that you are not part of the anti-p2w movement, but someone who likes to use the same tools to wreak havoc.
In a February video I picked at random, you didn't care at all whether the server is p2w, since "all servers are p2w" even when they don't even have a shop.
A video in April made you look like exactly the way the start of the video describes you, if the server has something over 100 bucks, it's p2w, even when it's 100% cosmetics.
Only in a video in June did you start to look like you have grasped 'de wae' of anti-p2w, since you didn't look at the price, but at what is being sold, and the benefits compared to what's available on the server, and then got to destroy on actual p2w servers.
But in my opinion, you shouldn't get fame anyway, because of your careless mistakes in the past that make you look like what you try to put down now.
You would need to stay clean for half a year to show that you have changed, only then the old you would no longer be associated with your current you.
