@@dadlopes7249 yes, very true 😅
True
Coming from someone who has lived in Cape Town for 24 years and has traveled the world extensively, this place remains magical. Thank you for this great video.
What's your top 3 spots from your travels?
Alux.com Tokyo, Tuscany and New York👍
Thank you for this. I'm from Cape Town, South Africa, born in 1979 and now 39 years as of writing this.
I've emigrated to Russia since 3 years ago and now live in Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, which is most similar to Cape Town in every respect, from climate, to proximity to the sea, to everything
As a lucky 15 years old French guy who visited Cape Town a year ago, I definitely agree that it is a surprising city.
Here's my experience: as you drive from the airport to the downtown, you are sadly greated by the slums and the decaying districts, but it's interesting to see that some of them work on their condition by providing electricity, etc..
When you pass to the other side of table mountain the ambiance is clearly not the same. Colonial buildings, a modern downtown with skyscrapers, luxury restaurants and shops near the marina, colorful stacks of houses, a big park around the stadium.. But a shit ton of traffic.
The view you have from Signal Hill is breathtaking, a perfect photography spot.
On the way to the Cape of good hope you pass through the top neighborhoods of the city full of beautiful luxury modern mansions (Camps Bay..). You can surf, take a boat to see the seals or visit the Cape penguins.
Cape of good hope has a nice natural reserve, but it's not the southern post of Africa nor where the two oceans collide.
Then I had a tour of the colonial towns near the city such as Stellenbosh or Franschoek, and the wineyards as well. Didn't really change from France lol.
Will return in the future for sure.
Hope you enjoyed the story =)
Theo92160 _ I live in Cape Town and I can agree with all you said 100%
Sounds like you had a great time there!
Ay nice I can still remember things correctly. And thanks a lot for your answer Alux, I definitely did and would recommend this place for one of your travel videos!

I am from Georgetown, Guyana and visited Cape Town, South Africa in 2017. It was a lovely the hospitality of the South Africans is immeasurable and thanks to the staff at Garden Court Hotel. I will soon be back.
So you stayed in upper Woodstock?
Undoubtedly Cape Town is a very beautiful city. I feel fortunate enough to be able to live here in Cape Town. It’s quite amazing that Cape Town has been successful in holding its pristine culture even in this jet age.
These facts are actually well known. I've been to Cape town, been to the castle, sampled lots of wine. Good times 😊
It looks very beautiful. The landscape and nature looks stunning. Got to love that view where you can see the sports arena. X)' looks funny. :)
From what I was taught in school the noonday gun was mainly used by ships to set their clocks, accurate timekeeping being fundamental to plotting longitude. The billow of smoke from the cannon allowed ships far out in the harbour to "see" the time without errors being introduced by the having to wait for a boom and then making allowance for the slow speed of sound.
Thanks for talking about my city.
I have been to Cape Town at least twice a year since 2012 and I can confidently say this city has my Heart.
Have been going to cape Town since I was young for holiday
I went to Cape Town in January this year. I wish I could spend more time and visit more places. Hope to visit the city again.
I’ve never been, and I would like to visit one day
I just got back from Cape Town, my first visit, and it is absolutely beautiful. I definitely will be going back. Everyone was very nice and pleasant and laid back.
It's Johannesburg. Not Yohannesburg
Victor L. Siyaya Her pronounciation is technically correct since its an Afrikaans name :-)
Indeed, always gets me that Americans get pronunciation right (more or less) and the Brits get is so wrong!
Lol!!
oooo, you say tomato, I say tomayto, we all live happily ever after. Life is too short to concern yourself with J' and Y', enjoy life.

Update?
Aluxers, For the first time, you came to Africa. Thank you.
Planning to visit in future. Any more sites to visit there?
My hometown😭 Thank you Alux🙇🏿♂️💘
I'm from Cape Town... salute
Im from the usa but spent 2 and a half years on the cape flats and that's my second home i love it so i really appreciate the good side even more so because of first adapting to its worst side although il admit it was really tough but if you can survive in the cape flats and live how the locals live i promise you can survive probably anywhere that place will really show you what your made of perfect for soul searching and fillled with lots of hospitable soft hearted people and some of the best most beautiful women on earth mixed through the bad that goes on and people of all religions coexist with their freedoms and respect eachother i never once been robbed or hurt and felt really comfortable and free personally but perhaps i was just blessed coz lots of people around me all the time weren't always so fortunate il be honest but its also called the mother city and the name suits it because if you have an open heart the place becomes a part of you and. I plan to leave the usa again to move back to the cape flats not for the location but the people lord willing as soon as i can but not all cape flats is high risk there's levels depending on the area for example. Manenberg sherwood park sit side by side but Manenberg is the most dangerous area in all south Africa while sherwood park just next door is relatively quiet in comparison from what i understand so im just using those as examples there's variation through out capeflats like ying yang some good in the bad and some bad in the good

At 9:58. It is pronounced “Na mi bia”. Please don't spoil my country's name like Donald Trump.
yohhh dead by laughter
I also had to rewind to make sure that I heard correctly. Is that "I" in Nam"I"bia so elusive? Otherwise a great little doccie about the great city I live in.
Jesse I am from South Africa and most of us say Nambia without the "i" when we speak of Namibia. I'm afrikaans btw.
Lag. Ek verstaan, dis hoekom ek voel ek moet help.
