  • Until recently, Da Yeon believed that being perfect in every aspect of her life, from family and friendship to academics, was not only possible but would also bring nothing but benefits to her and those around her. In this personal talk, Da Yeon shares a journey of self-realisation, discovering the roots of her perfectionism, its consequences, and a path toward a healthier future. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Da Yeon lived in China for seven years during her childhood and moved to Prague at the age of 16. She has experienced and adapted to new cultures, new school systems, and new relationships. I am also a victim of perfectionism but I also think I was a major procrastinator which is also something that perfectionism deal with so I don't think finishing an assignment a month prior the due date I think is the opposite of the real experience.

Exactly. There is no way of finishing earlier. Perfectionists never feel like they "finished" something.

This video isn't very accurate. I was hoping to hear something about the real roots of perfectionism, for example: being bullied in your youth, having parents who made you feel that anything you did wasn't good enough or who penalized you if one of your school results were bad while all others where good. Stuff like that wasn't mentioned and is part of the reasons that people become (unhealthy) perfectionists.
