Show's the Wyze cam with no recorded sound. Shows the app a few mins later with all the sound features off. No wonder it didn't record with sound. I haven't had any issues with my Wyze cams and sound.

A year late but my thought is a wireless security camera is an invitation to unwelcome “visitors”. They are easily compromised. Never place one in a “private” area and be aware they can detect audio from far away. Personally i have nothing to “hide” but can’t tolerate how some utube videos only stress the happy, happy, joy or wireless products. He did mention that a wired camera system is better but didn’t drive the point home.

I have a Yi and it was a decent camera. It’s the one that screws into a light socket. It has local storage and you can pay for a cloud service as well, but I just used an SD card. That is until I needed to delete the videos on the card. Since I don’t pay for the subscription cloud service, I cannot delete the videos in the app, so I removed the SD, and deleted them through my pc. I was forced to reformat the card after placing it back in the camera, and after formatted, no local storage will show up in the app. The entire listing for “storage” just disappeared. Nothing I do will allow me too start using local storage again, and I am definitely not paying a subscription for literally one of the shittiest security cameras I’ve ever seen. So I don’t recommend Yi. AT ALL

As one more feature for security cameras that may only be implemented currently via a hack is to ensure hacker-proof privacy of cameras [on a local network]. A phone/desktop still should have access to the cameras as long as they are on the private network. To be clear, above setup should be functional with no internet connection - just local wifi router. I have a Ring security system, and on live view the Ring cameras have a digital distortion with a delayed jerky action in the live view only similar to the audio on your Ring, I have no problems with the video on recent recorded events, only live view. I only have this live view problem when viewing on tablets, and some smartphones, I do not have the problem when viewing live over Windows 10 in the desktop computer, and the WiFi connection is excellent on the tablets. To make sure it wasn't a connection problem I unistalled the Ring camera and reinstalled it hard wired ethernet instead of WiFi with no difference. I ordered the WYZE camera and installed their app, and the camera works fine, better color and no digital distortion like the Ring cameras have, and I also did not have the problem with the WYZE camera recording the sound as you did and the sound quality wasn't bad, but I'm, comparing a WYZE 18.95 camera to a Ring stick up poe wired camera that sells for 149.00, that is quite a difference. With all my testing I've come to the conclusion that the Ring cameras are not compatible with some phones or tablets on live view. I have called Ring a number of times, and when my account is shared with the Ring techs some saw the digital delayed distortion, and two others did not, but they were viewing the live feed over Apple Iphones, the others were not, and since I don't have the live view distortion over Windows 10 in the desktop this leads me to believe the problem is the type of device your viewing the live feed on. . I took my tablet over to my neighbors house and signed in on his WiFi which is 1G Google fiber internet, mine is 200 Mbps. and there was no difference in the live view. This all gets a bit complicated, and many of the techs don't have an answer for the problem , and I found it's best to do your own experimenting to find the solution before taking anyone's advise . In my opinion I don't think the WYZE cam can't be beat for the price, someWYZE cameras can be found for less than 15.00. .

1 fact : WYze does not supply manuals or instruction as to how to use and its features. Spoke online with support specialist and stated to me, " we're looking into it for future according to what is stated on forums. If your more of a experienced guy like one speaking on video yes it's ok. Consumer a lot of times isn't security camera experienced. The forums page on your account you get is only way aside from trial and error to figure out what , when and how. The camera itself for price as well as subscription yes, is good, but application and manuals thumbs down and 1 star. Nothing for reference manual and just figure it out yourself.

I hate biased reviews. Pricing can say it all. There are times that camers may have an issue like video and sound because of connectivity with the network or the internet slowing down on cable. I have 8 wyze camers 4v2s 4 pans. I have had them over a year. I have 5 outdoors and 3 indoors. They are performing well. Minor issue with SD card going bad on two but that happens with devices that user SD cards as well.

Hey so I’m looking at getting a GoPro hero 7 but I’m not sure if I should get gray or black which one would you recommend?

Definitely black!!! But hopefully you didn't get it yet and you pick up the _Hero 8 Black_ instead.

I HATE Wyze cams. The motion clips only being 14 seconds is bs and it stops saving to the micro sd card at random times when space gets filled up.

Yeah 100% agree: the Ring business model pushing that monthly subscription is what made me cross them off my list. I'm not paying a monthly fee for a camera that I intend to run for ~10 years x 12 months a year = 120 months. Those monthly fees add up. Sorry Ring.

In enjoy your reviews but for us older adults you talk so FAST like you’re in a race. So putting your review notes or ratings in the notes below would be helpful. Sometimes you talk so fast I”m exhausted after watching even though I do enjoy your reviews. LOL!

Hello, You should be able to click on the 3 dots in the corner of the video and then click playback speed. You can change it to .75 or .50. Hopefully I helped you.
