Clarke Sweetone Tinwhistle: Unboxing & First Play

- This is the first time I've attempted to play a tinwhistle/pennywhistle. I purchased the Sweetone whistle from Clarke Tinwhistle in the UK. It's a simple instrument but I soon realized it's fairly challenging to play. I can see it coming in handy though. This video should give a beginner an idea of what to expect.

I've only 15 tinwhistles, 3 of them are the Sweetones, and I've a LIR whistle "in transit". My fave so far is my John Sindt whistle.
Keep playing - you'll love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And you'll buy more...fair warning...

This is a very timely video! I ordered a Clarke Sweetone a few days ago and expect it to arrive any day now. Similarly, I have never tried playing one of these things, so this gives me a good idea what I'm in for.

Nice job on it Kale. I bet you could play the Quills part of Henry Thomas' Bulldoze Blues, aka Goin Up Country by the end of the week.
It's not an easy instrument to play but I think I could get it if I spent some time with it.
I recently ordered a Tony Dixon D soprano after a bit of research on best ones to start out with. I have no experience but am happy with the ones I bought. I decided to go ahead and get the Low D, also Tony Dixon, non-tunable version as it seemed the best choice given my newbie status. I will focus first on the soprano before even picking up the Low D which is what is recommended by those with advanced skills. I plan to have a lot of fun with the learning process, will be heading to a nearby park to spare the neighbors. 😉🎵🎶

Before I got my tin whistles I watched a lot of reviews. I dont like the Clarke Sweettone. I also got the Woody 2 tinwhistle set and love it. I play flute, oboe, and various bamboo flutes and was disappointed with the Clarke Sweettone. But learning to play my Eastman mandolin currently(in my dreams). Work is wearing me out. You sound good on that Clarke! ❤️
