- EBS troubles this week for one customer, with brake system truck malfunction and can time out from his front axle modulator we need to carry some testing out to get to the bottom of his concern and rectify his issue

Hi mate I’m new to watching you’re videos there absolutely brilliant I was a hgv technician working on daf ,man,Renault,Iveco and hino trucks and the ocassional Scania but got bored of it after 12 years now working on cars and lcv I take it you’re the top man in that workshop in my view you’re way ahead of the crowd you really are a credit to the trade mate keep the videos coming bringing back memories lol 😊

Can't believe you got bored of trucks! I've done a bit on LCV as a workshop controller for fiat professional but I leave anything under 7.5 ton to my girlfriend now 😂.
The trade needs all the publicity and help it can get so fingers crossed I'm helping it along.
Hopefully I should have another video this weekend!

Very good work and useful information, I also had a daf that didn't start, checked the fuel system by changing several components, it didn't have any error codes, but in the end I found out that it was the vtg actuator stuck.

That must of been on hell of a find. The VTG *I think* does a positional sweep before starting. You would of thought you would of got fault codes for that! But well done and a great find!

have you came across many daf engine ecu fails.. everyone i know who owns daf 15 plate up. has had engine ecu total failiure.... on concrete mixers with a full load on.
that takes the £1000 ECU fault to over £20.000 because the concrete went off causing total drum replacment. Daf Should be paying these bills. they need exposing. I really enjoy your vids.
not to mention the amount of time of this causes too.
Hey John, glad you enjoy the videos 😎. I must do a engine ECU once a week. DAF have improved the design but with so many vehicles on the road were still doing them every week.
As for the cost of drum replacement it couldn't of failed at a worse time, you would of thought they would have a spare ECU to throw on it to get it going again to get the load off.
@@TRUCKTECHUK thanks man. i have 2 trucks. my 66 plate ecu went just after i had a new drum. lucky for Me. Ford and slater daf had a ECU on shelf. my 15 plate has same ecu so i was always gonna get out of it. just meant killing the other truck. But the guys that only have 1 truck are screwed because Daf never seem to have them in stock/must provide proof ECU failed. By this time The Egg has boiled. Thanks again. P.s do you know if its possible to remove the security/so that ecu would plug and play without programming on another truck.
just to start/move truck to spin the load out. its a horrible feeling that concrete going hard and nothing can be done. A donky engine for the hydrolics works but means tipping the concrete wherever the truck stopps. wich gets you a big fine.

Ha ha ha I didn't notice ☺️ well spotted...... The silencer was the least of the companies worries as all the sensors had been bypassed on the brake system

You have it in for SAC units ,blaming them for everything lol...I have over 25 years with the product and you are getting faults i have never seen lol,,Though we luckily do not have much to do with tippers ..I have seen that there are now new PSY /PSX sensors out. made of metal..A bit late in my opinion lol...I guess you don't pack your own bags for holidays Have a good holiday and as i said before no PACCAR work

Since helping out down at this other depo the work is definitely more fix it on the spot and with a smaller stores I just don't have the parts I need so end up doing less than ideal repairs 🙈.
Oh I've not seen the new EMAS sensors, suppose people still can't tighten them right 😂.
I did very little packing 🧳 but Id write a blog post on the flight over and watched LinkedIn business development videos on the plane 😂. Just need to find paccar truck over here now

My Jal test licence has expired and I've got a 2009 4x2 CF.
Config warning, engine, transmission,
Neutral is flashing on the IC so I think it thinks it's in gear.
Had it running yesterday after repairing wired behind the step and above the exhaust however ots reverted to not starting.
Could you shed any light on what is the CAN interface, I'm resorting to belling the gearbox harness but like pissing in the wind with no diag kit.

AS-TRONIC runs on V-CAN1 so you're looking for red and yellow wires at 56D:13 AND 14 at the bulkhead to frame connector 101F:5 AND 6. I take it you don't have any comms with EAS? fault in the DMCI for no chassis number for EAS?

Thought I'd eliminate the sacred power and ground's to both engine and gearbox ECU then pin to pin the gearbox harness.
Typical Daf has insulation tape everywhere.
