Good choice using the Tiny esc instead of Sabertooth. Those have a tendency to randomly stop working. I also really like the use of Carbon Rods, reminds me of the old VDD kits that had so much success. Its cool that you bring something a little bit different to the table with your bots.
I got the same TX/RX from HK, but I also bought a cheap HC-06 bluetooth module on ebay ($4-7) and connected it to the +5,RX,TX and GND wires that lead to the programming connector in the TX. Then I bought a $2 program called Digital Radio (easy to find if you google). Now i can program my TX with my tablet with no cable and no laptop and the whole upgrade was < $10.
I am making a 4wd antweight drum, and I had a question. How do you the drill the holes on the drum for the teeth so precisely? It seems like if you were slightly off it would be too of balance. Thanks!
I used a mill at my university, which gave me more precision than a drill press would have, and mine was still slightly off balance. I'm not experienced at balancing spinners. I think a lot of people use the same method as used to balance RC airplane props, and just angle grind material off until their weapon is balanced.
