I love that the robot entered as a joke & for show won by because the other one knocked the crap out of itself beating up on it! That idea of a foam body was 10/10 btw! The BEST part of watching robot fighting is seeing debris flung everywhere & that silly body made for a great show!
3:55 Your spokes are backwards, the higher force from torque is near the inside, not the outside. It also looks halfway hollow there, so you had only 1 perimeter of material making it fail in a very weak area, that's just a design issue and should have been made thicker in that section.
Otherwise its a pretty good bot, I like the design and it looks like the rest was pretty well made. I'd love to go to some of those competitions, looks like a crazy amount of fun, cheers!
sokohilton I highly recommend the Ask Aaron Archives for design advice. It's a good place to start. You can also watch videos, find what robots are highly ranked, and see what they did. No design choice is random :) members.toast.net/joerger/AskAaron/weapon.html
Check out my other videos haha, I have indeed tried carbon fiber. There is a build video, and then the results of that experiment can be seen here: czcams.com/video/NX9vPZiAFpc/video.html
You know what, I have a Taz 5, I have some Alloy 910. I'm going to print myself a 30lb Sportsman bot. And honestly, if you can work with Alloy 910, that's what you should use the next time around. ABS is basically garbage when it comes to durability, you can't even make a quadcopter with it. If you're stuck with either ABS or PLA, though, PLA is the better choice.
+Fancy Raptor Well, the wedge was way heavier than the rest of the robot... without some counter weight at the back it'd tip forward and the one rear wheel that let it turn would lift off of the ground.
altapowderdog Cool I wasn't sure if it was a joke. I'm planning on building a 12 lb battle bot. I have no clue where to fight it near me though but I'll keep an eye out. I go into high school next year and their team has won nationally a few times so they can probably tell me where to look. Your videos have been helpful so thanks
Not a club, anyone can enter a bot or just show up and watch. "The Builders Database" has an event listings page which is a good place to find competitions and register
I watched and loved BattleBots as a kid, and then last year I just looked online to see if there were any smaller and cheaper competitions in the midwest that I could enter
lol that foam based robot
BEST PLAN EVER
Your brothers robot was practically shitpost and it won second place!
"I entered this bot as a joke"
*joke bot wins 2nd*
He said the same about Krave Monster which won first place. Maybe he should just make joke robots
i love the fact so many kids are into this. better than watching shit on mtv
i wish there were battlebots in singapore lol
Glad for the joke bot but radio receiver disconnects are way to common and I hate seeing good bots lose because of it.
I hate that too and I hate it even more when a robot loses when a removable link pops out. (Looking at you UK and AUS.)
ikr but still hilarious when the bot that got turned into dust wins
The best or nothing went pretty well because your brother is a good driver when he baited the bot in his 1st match
I love these mini bot fights, they look so cute when they hit.

I wanna make one of these!
1:42 "Man this guy has got some notable moves. Anybody got a Post-It so I can take notes? Oh. Thanks."
I like that the grudge match is a literal sword fight
Make Danger Zone a full 250lbs Battlebot
Thanks for posting
Your're a creative guy, make a harpoon battle-bot(also btw I'm not a freaky fish guy)

7:20
Announcer: Lunchbox basically dominating.
(5 seconds later)
Danger Zone V1: High-sides Lunchbox on his back.
Nice dude! Hope to see you at a north-east event at some point!
That looks like it was a blast!
Better than the real thing
Nice bots. Try PLA with thick shells, but maybe you know that already! I like the blue drum bot the best. Even though it didn't win.
awesome. How they create blueprints for the robot? Is is random build process or some battle rules?

altapowderdog thank you!
could you make an ant or beetle that looks like pulsar/magnetar just to see if it can be done
I’m currently building one similar to magnet at
Abs might not work... But have you tried Carbon Fiber? It isn't cheap, but it SHOULD certainly fit your needs in something like this.
Carbon fibre is great... until it breaks.
Then you might as well have a robot made of plastic bags.
Check out my other videos haha, I have indeed tried carbon fiber. There is a build video, and then the results of that experiment can be seen here: czcams.com/video/NX9vPZiAFpc/video.html
What are the rules like size and weight
You know what, I have a Taz 5, I have some Alloy 910. I'm going to print myself a 30lb Sportsman bot.

3d printed is even better!!
I miss watching battlebots on the SyDy channel.
Season 2 of the new Battlebots series is out in less than a month I believe on ABC!
well do I have news for you
3:24 the little girl in pink flips us off lol
I wish there was a community here in belgium/luxembourg/netherland
We started a school competition in Belgium. www.schoolrobotgames.be and there is www.dutchrobotgames.nl
I want the files for bot error!
awesome man,
viswesh713 from LMR
Should have a class that is only PLA or something like that. No metal armor or metal weapons. Make it about the design and driving.
There is a plastic antweight class
I find it hilarious how a joke robot got second place and did better than your serious robot
why was there sticky notes in The Best or Nothing
+Fancy Raptor Well, the wedge was way heavier than the rest of the robot... without some counter weight at the back it'd tip forward and the one rear wheel that let it turn would lift off of the ground.

haha the whole robot was a joke. You're very lucky to have a high school team! Good luck.
+altapowderdog Thanks. I dont think they do combat robots more along the robots that have to complete challenges
+AltaPowderDog You should bring that "best or nothing" back instead of the 2016 one same for danger zone.
This is near to where I live
Where can I enter a bot fighting challenge in northern ny
Here is the list of events that I typically refer to. You might have to drive: www.buildersdb.com/events.asp
that's pretty cool u never said weight how much is it?
+NxAz Clan 1lb is the weight limit for these ones. I've got a build video of "Danger Zone" up as well.
+AltaPowderDog Link please?
Here is the link for the original "Danger Zone" build: czcams.com/video/e8Sn5vZjGPM/video.html
AltaPowderDog Which best or nothing do you like better 2015 or 2016?
Now build a robot that can 3d print and assemble the robots and have a war!
Derpin Bird gonna take 7 hrs
acturally depends on size and infill percentage
Maybe if you would have printed it thicker it wouldn't crack so easily. (3:55)
True, the design also wasn't great: the "spokes" were thin in the direction of the impact force. I didn't use spokes for danger zone 2.
I like robot
is it in a club or can I just enter a bot or wach?
Not a club, anyone can enter a bot or just show up and watch. "The Builders Database" has an event listings page which is a good place to find competitions and register
when is the fight?
The dates are listed for the different competitions, the Illinois Bot Brawl is 8/12
can you do a live steam on the event?
how do you get into this hobby?
I watched and loved BattleBots as a kid, and then last year I just looked online to see if there were any smaller and cheaper competitions in the midwest that I could enter
Thanks:) I definitely want to get into this hobby:)
Hai...
Do you have a 3 Kg robot sumo design, because I like to compete in the 3Kg class, if you have, can I copy your Sumu robot design ... thanks
what about nylon 910 i think it is way better than abs
Nylon is wayyy better, I agree
+AltaPowderDog do they allow Lego ant weight battle bots?
If you meet the weight limit and have 2.4Gz remote control, sure! a lego bot would be fun
+AltaPowderDog Mandy I can glue the Legos together. And cool dude!
+AltaPowderDog also I don't understand the bracket
3d printed bots at botbrawl arent great ideas
trident
Its cute but its not gonna save your life when someone gonna get you
Its not meant to....
