i always felt so guilty getting rid of books i’ve never read but paid for them, but i just didn’t want to read them. once i started watching your videos and saw you unhaul your books, i was like ok i can get rid of books that i don’t wanna read. so thanks to you i finally unhauled some books and it feels like a weight off my shoulder, so thank you! i love your videos and look forward to them!
You can always take them to a place that buys used books (even if yours is “un used” technically) for the most part they will give you a decent amount of money for them especially if they are good quality and “popular”.
Thats what im doing with mine and it makes me feel alot less guilty rather than “throwing them away”. Atleast i know someone will read it and put it to use.
i used to as well, but the feeling of donating them and having them ‘off your tbr/off your mind’ is so nice!! knowing they’re going to a better home always makes me feel better. i’m so glad you like my videos!!🥰🫶🏻
@@bookswithellenyes its a great feeling! i let my best friend take a look if she wants any then i donate them! also i highly recommend the book “thin ice” by nichole greene. It’s ice hockey/ figure skating romance with no third act breakup!
there's just something so satisfying about unhauls. i think it's the fact that it's like clearing out some storage space haha
literally i find them so therapeutic!!
watching unhauls are so cathartic; I get to live vicariously through them because I never unhaul books haha

Nice unhaul. Feeling dread when you think you have to read a book is definitely the sign to let go of it.
When it comes to those multicolor spines, what I do is look at them, and let my eyes unfocus until it is just a blur of color, like it would if you looked at it from across the room. I just go by the dominant color I see.

Omg yesssss, so refreshing for someone to not like Colleen Hoover, i read Verity but it's made me like refuse to read anything further of her's lmao, i just didn't vibe with it🤫 but love your thought process, i have so many books that i haven't read or don't like but i feel guilty like giving up on them, like they have feelings ffs, even though someone else would may love them more! To other commenters, as an eager buyer of used books, please never feel guilty for unhauling your books, because you're sending them on to new homes, not being wasteful.
yes i wholeheartedly agree!! always feels good to have a clear out and know that the books are going to a home where they can be cherished☺️
You unhauled some that I actually enjoyed which is too bad. But of course reading is subjective and not everyone will enjoy everything. Hopefully you’ll find some better books for you!

I unhaul books a lot and then later in the year I think about it and want to read it, but I got rid of it 🥹
i think i’ve only ever regretted like two that i’ve unhauled so i’ve been lucky so far🤭🤣
