    A baffle inside the SnowTrekker might be good to make the interior smaller for one person. Could have an unheated gear area at the back.

      That’s a great idea. A solo pitch would be a chore. But son worth it for a longer outing. Plus, you could get by with a smaller stove. Thanks for watching!

    Question you never answer is where do you get your gear from

      I don’t think I’m ever asked. Haha. Which gear are you referring to?

      @@robpelton well the collapsible sled, next the big stove in your new video. Been trying to find one but no one mentions the maker. Found the trekker tent thanks to you 😍. But mainly the sleds and stoves. Bought a pomoly three stove jack hot tent want to try that out for just encase scenarios. Then move to the snow trekker tents. And the wooden snowshoes…man I haven’t seen shoes like that since I was a kid.
      Thank you and SEMPER FI

      @@pakleader4 gotcha! I do mention them in following videos. The toboggan is from Black River Sleds. I have the One Tigris Roar stove in this video. I’m selling it though. I’ve borrowed a big Kni-Co Alaskan stove from a buddy and I also use a Pomoly T-Brick Mini. The wooden snowshoes are Miyagi’s and he literally got them at a thrift store!! Haha. Thanks for the questions!

      @@robpelton thank you big. For the lesson in below weather camping. There’s a lot of idiots faking the temps of cold weather survival. But having or learning about the new gear that’s out there besides military gear I’m trained for, I can piece together the proper equipment and techniques. Ur a life saver!!!

      It's a 3 man with a stove. 9.5'x9.5' so small for extended stays but perfect for 2-3 day campouts.

    I've never camped in a hot tent, but that looks pretty luxurious. You don't get drafts from under the tent walls that cancel out the heat from the stove though? Love the homemade sled also. I never do any winter camping, at least I haven't since I was a teenager in the scouts, but this seems like the right way to do it.

    • @robpelton
      @robpelton  Před rokem +2

      Hot tents have their place and it is not for everybody. The one in this video is about as good as you can get. Very comfortable and cozy. There is an option to bury flaps around the bottom. If you want to prevent drafts, I have not found this to be an issue as of yet. The sleds, however, was purchased from Black River sleds out of Montana. They do have a DIY kit, but I don’t have the room for that! Thanks for watching Daniel!
