Yeah, people who thought this album was “mid” just didn’t get it mainly because they were looking for bangers. This album is an excellent deconstruction of Kendrick’s personal demons.
mr morale was great, honestly DAMN was the mid one if anything

Slow down . Cut you off and kush and Corinthians both by Kendrick . Go listen to em , your opinion might change.
@@illuminated_ eh... what? I am one of the biggest Eminem fans that listens to all his albums and learns new stuff even after years of constantly studying his lyircs. ANd i can confidently tell you that he is much more of a battle rapper than storyteller. I do think that Darkness is one of his best artworks and by far the best written one but comparing to Kendrick, Em is full of songs where he just praises himself. Yes, he can always twist his tongue and do it special way and his delivery makes it special each time but he doesn't really raise some interesting topics often. Leaving heaven? Great. Stepping Stones? awesome. Headlights? Heck yeah, masterpiece. But he doesn't do it that often. Kendrick though.. he uses almost every opportunity to deliver a message, to help his audience. And so does Em but he odes it much much more rarely. They both do an amazing work but i can't say that Em is a better storyteller than Lamar
@@artemyburakh12 i meant them not em .

Music should never be censored.
bs American censorship. can't curse but can show violent movies on tv
I agree
💯
Not if it can be avoided, but if it can help it reach new audiences its worth it. Someone might discover this incredible song as a result of it being censored
@@camokarzi8491 or just stop being such a "close minded woke"... Words are words, it's how u use them that should matter. The problem is not saying fuck, n***, or whatever you take offense to, is how you use the words. It's much different to sing "fuck you" than to say "fuck you" to someone, the same with bitch and n***.... But well, we live in a world (americans specially) full of people that think censorship is the best way to avoid problems.... kinda ironic since if you truly listen to Kdot you should have learned the opposite lesson
When Kanye got back with Drake i was slightly confused - Kendrick
And now we are here singing 'OV HOOOE' 🔥
Can you elaborate on this for me if that’s cool
@@Larryfishh They're pointing out how Kendrick hasn't liked Drake for a long time now, not just from the recent beef
@@Larryfishhif you're wondering about the Drake/Kanye line, they both had real problems with each other for a while but then started becoming buddy buddy out of nowhere. Kendrick is basically saying the way his father raised him made it so he could never forgive somebody so easily
“When Kanye got back with Drake, I was slightly confused. Guess I’m not as mature as I think, got some healing to do.” This bar hit me because black men always see beef/competition as strength which further damages the community and puts us through a repetitive cycle. Instead, we should be coming together and practicing forgiveness to overcome our circumstances.
Yea then Drake came out and said he only made up with Kanye because of Jay Prince. Shit be fake sometimes.
a year later and I guess he still got some healing to do

Already aged like fine 🍷 it's been on repeat these past few days
Sampha has one of the most unique and angelic voices I’ve ever heard
I love it when the live version is just as good (if not better) than the studio cut. No backing track either. These two are kings.
Saw him live in august. He sounds incredible live, way better than I expected
@@ToddHoward3 I missed his Australian tour. I caught him play the good kid mad city tour when I was working at the venue he played at. I got to listen to his sound check. I think Mr Morale and the Big Steppers in time will be a sleeper classic. I know quite a few people who are Kendrick fans or huge hip hop fans weren't feeling the album much.. but the more you play it the more it grows on you
It’s definitely one of my fav Kendrick albums.
It's his album that has mosty reasonated with me. It's not avant garde like tpab, nor a movie like album as gkmc, but mr morale is such a mature, sensitive album, it talks about stuff you sometimes don't even wanna think about, but need to in order for growing up.
Yup amen to that
The album was fire, he dealt with some real shit on this album. Unfortunately people are so sensitive these days and dont want messenges in their music

Kendrick is an open book when it comes to his music. Nothing is sugar coated, or skipped over. He never has strayed away from talking about his grief, guilt, regrets, hardships, mistakes, triumphs, and everything else in between. He doesn’t talk about it unless he’s lived it. One day there is going to be a movie made about Kendrick’s life and I can’t imagine a world where it wouldn’t win huge awards. He has enough experiences in his life to have lived several lives. He is wise beyond his years. Thank God he decided to pursue music from a young age. Sharing a window into your life through your music thus far has truly been a treat, thank you Kendrick ❤️
Kendrick's live performances always deliver, particularly in set design. It's not obvious in this video until the final moments, but the way the walls literally close into the duo is classic Kendrick shit, really highlights the message.

My first REAL exposure to Kendrick Lamar was on SNL many years ago with "I". I was impressed. His stage presence and lyricism move you. Led me to see him live for his D.A.M.N. tour with Jay Rock and School Boy Q in West Palm Beach then again this year in Tampa for Mr. Morale. This guy will remain one of the most renowned hip-hop artists for years to come. Congrats on the deserved success! His music might not be everyone's cup-o-tea but this 58 year old white dude will continue to support his artistry!

No words can describe this generational talent. We run out of superlatives. He is the best rapper alive. Kendrick is a privilege to witness perform.
One of the best songs on this album 🙏🏾🔥 this song really hit deep for me, even though I couldn’t relate to it, I have seen up close what it looks like for a man/woman to not have their father in their life or have a dysfunctional relationship. From “we cry together” to “crown”, this album really puts a mirror to “the culture” and a lot of people have to realize that they gotta to that inner work like Kenny 💯
This is so true. I have friends who grew up abandoned by their Fathers and see all these unhealthy patterns which Kendrick referenced in this song.
This song needs a Grammy
this was the greatest snl performance of all time and nothing will ever come close
Been watching SNL off an on my whole old ass life, and you are not wrong!

Kendrick and Sampha's aesthetic together is so beautiful😭🖤
He’s an amazing lyricist. His songs have so much meaning and emotion. And only a portion of us could even comprehend what he raps about. Kendrick Lamar is a legend in my book.
"I love my father for telling me to take off the gloves. Cause everything he didn't want was everything I was" that line never fails to fuck me up, man.
Great, now this masterpiece will never be lost.
MASTERPIECE 🔥
Therapy sessions with Kendrick 😌 + the voice of Sampha. this is art...
Sampha doesn’t get enough love. He’s got one of the best voices in the HipHop and R&B world, and I’m super happy to see the collabs in the past, like this and Saint Pablo with Kanye
