Would love to see a video with examples of your Anki cards, that'd be awesome

hi! this actually my first ever CZcams comment :), just wanted to say i really like your channel, you present everything very well. I use paper flash cards, I find they suit my needs just fine for remembering new words. I wanted to say that I first read the word in English and try to translate it to my target language instead of the other way around because I find it easy to remember the meaning of a word just by knowing basically how it looks and not being able to recall it later. Tough i am just a beginner at language learning so i might try to mix it up! thank you very much again!

I thought I was the only one who put their target language on the front of their Anki cards! Glad to hear you do the same haha

What Anki deck did you use for Greek?

I agree that Anki and such options are very efficient but I just do not feel any joy using those. Feels more like a chore. I learn languages, as it is so much fun for me and gives me a lot of joy. In the past, I stopped studying mandarin for about 2 month, as I used Anki and additional things , which I simply not enjoyed. After this experience, I decided to do only, what I enjoy, even if my progress is slower. That gave me motivation and joy to study languages every single day for the past 4+ years. I rather read multiple times through the same Chinese reader, in order to remember words, instead of repeating those, I did read once, in any sort of flashcard revision system. For those who feel joy in using Anki and such things, I also highly recommend using it, as things clearly stick quicker. I for myself, reached an intermediate to advacned level (depending on the langauge) in 5 languages besides my mother tongue, without using such option long term. In Germany we have a quote saying:" Many roads lead to Rome". The reason I really like Aaron's channel is, that he covers multiple different ways of learning languages.

I feel the same, but I'll try to give another try with anki
About the German quote, it's fun because in French we have almost the same quote "tous les chemins mènent à Rome" which means "all paths lead to Rome" i just found that interesting
      Have a good day!

@@louisblavier1400 the quote goes back to the roman road net, as all roads, no matter from which direction, led to rome back then. But I did not know, that it is also used in french 🇫🇷💚. So cool to know! It is possibly then at least a European quote ;). I wish you good luck with Anki. Maybe you can find a way, to make it more interesting for yourself. Fingers crossed! Like I mentioned, it is a very good option, I personally just do not
want my language learning to feel like studying for a test in school or Uni☺. Have a great Sunday.

@@jillaroo1986 thanks for the explanation 😉 and yes, it might as well be a European quote or at least Mediterranean... Should be checked, but it's interesting and possible seeing the expansion of the Roman empire at its largest!
Thank you! Here I found some decks, and I'm building my own ones (I try to combine different ways of studying, with reading, listening, watching movies, different types of flash cards ect...)
That's true, it's a bit dry and too much on the study side, but I feel like I'm plateauing in my English, so I hope it might help me to break it, and why not try to for other languages! Honestly I made it so I wouldn't have to study with anki more than 10 minutes a day, letting me more time for funnier and more interesting ways of learning.
Thank you for your answer, and have a great Sunday too! 😊😊

The best method is whatever you keep doing. If Anki feels boring, it's a bad method.

The saying is also used in English, where it is usually said as: "All roads lead to Rome."

Hey man, great video, quick feedback if it helps... I found the thumbnail with the random girl a bit confusing.
I thought it was someone else's channel. Or that you had a guest in this video.
Hope that helps, not trying to be too critical, hopefully it's helpful feedback, I'm an old time fan of your work! keep it up

      Thanks for the feedback :)
For this video series I've just been grabbing random stock photos for my thumbnails because I'm very short on time right now, which is also why the videos have been short unedited clips of me talking. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things eventually, but for at least the next few months, I just won't have the time, so that's why I'm using stock photos of other people.

After looking at all the thumbnails in this series, I just realized that this one actually does stand out to me as misleading. I'll have to find some other stock photo that doesn't look like a CZcamsr! 😅 Thanks for the suggestion!
