Definitely in D dorian for the most part, but man, that switch up in verse 2 sounds awesome, especially that Dm to C# major, before returning to dorian with the G7. Does anyone have an idea where the song goes there? Like, is there a particular scale or mode that has that feel?
Also verse 4 is crazy. It looks pretty phrygian at first glance, but maybe it also has some double harmonic major elements...? Like that Eb to D major.

@ i think verse 4 uses Phrygian, but also Phrygian Dominant, the fifth mode of the Harmonic Minor Scale, wich is basically the same as the Phrygian mode, but with a major tonic
@ the switch from Dm to C# it's certainly a weird yet interesting progression. The only songs i know that uses it, is "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd, and "If i fell" by The Beatles. Well, now there's Magical Nexus too.
1:59 I've played on and off since around 2013. This feels more like a "final island" then Gold Island, and man...this part is just chefs' kiss.

The major and minor switch ups, the dynamics. This song is so very intricate and then that middle part build up is everything. This is definitely my new favorite island hands down.

I love how it contrasts to amber island so well, with amber island it feels like every monster gets atleast one part where they can shine, and it never gets too crowded, meanwhile with magical nexus, there are like 8+ monsters at a time, its so many at once at it fits with the lore of how the stair shaper wants everyone to contribute together
The reveal that Titans are aliens and the Magicals were created by an alien god was NOT what I expected today but damn is it an amazing lore drop

The way this island is structured genuinely gives off the vibe BBB is taking inspiration from the fan islands, and that’s honestly really great to see. They aren’t fully ripping them off (unless you go to the lengths and say they ripped off Magical Madness) and are instead taking inspiration from them for MSM’s official songs
The way every monster compliments one another is something I had never seen in another Msm island

i cant stop listening to this song. its like walking into a room with someone meditating in the middle and they turn out to be a mini boss. it also reminds me of the legendary theme for the 4 scarlet and violet ruinous pokemon
Strangely enough, this actually DOESN'T remind me of that theme. Magical Nexus reminds me more of a theme you'd hear in Chinese/Japanese temples, or when going out for war in those countries, rather than being a strong but whimsical Egyptian-sounding theme like the Treasures of Ruin battle theme is.

This is one of my favorite islands in msm. (Daring, I know.) But something I don’t see many people talking about down here is how *lovely* the synergies are. It feels like the song was designed for the song, not for the individuals, and the individuals are still great! The sounds flow into, compliment, and bounce off each other in a way I haven’t seen even out of fanmade islands. I love it!

I dont play the game anymore since ive been more focused on my job, but it's nice to come home and find out theres a new island, and its nice to see the fandom alive and well
I was holding high hopes seeing such a big island and MAN was I not disappointed!! This is INCREDIBLE, I gives me vibes of something like Moonlighter with a little extra spice and energy. And the progression of the song having the drums and then having the heavy drum bit and then also having the delayed drop this is SO WELL DONE. Absolute props to whatever people on the team worked on this song, this might beat Ethereal Workshop and Bone Island and those are hard to beat for me.

You people say we praise every "new" island in the game, but for Magical Nexus we mean it. The song, the aesthetic, the story, the animations... BBB really outdid themselves on this one.
Who ever said that was lying. The only new islands that i see get praise are Bone, Sanctum, Mythical & Nexus. And that's just four of them.

Talk about a bombshell of an update. Came out of NOWHERE and it slaps. Also, I find it kinda crazy how FEW vocalists there are! Only 5 here, with Peckidna not vocalizing on this island.

In the trailer, we see the monsters start playing before they even reach the Nexus. Because of this, I like to think that upon shared grounds, the Magicals banded together to create this song to celebrate their arrival to the Magical Nexus.

It's the only island with a large amount of monsters that manages to not overcrowd the song. Every sound mixes well with one another, and every monster is audible. Absolutely goated island.

I think cantorell played the shortest on an island a monster has played. He only played one verse for 5 seconds and that's it. (AND HE STILL SOUNDS GREAT) EDIT: I timed him and he plays closer to 4 seconds, also I'm saying how long they play in the song so even if their sound playing once is shorter than cantorell (like hippittyhop) some actually play more than once.

Phenomenal. THIS is magical! I was a bit worried, but the second it began I knew it will be good. They definitely redeemed themselves from Amber woth this one and showed what the Magicals can do. The animations feel so alive as well. I feel now with the Magical Islands, Sanctum, and Nexus to their name, the Magicals have proven to be the best Class in the game. My only critique is I feel some of the verse transitions are abrupt, but that's about it.
