i dont know.... Zelda has been really popular the past 7 years, with the release of Breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom. In my opinion this is a perfect time for lego with the release of the newer game last year.
I’ve shown this to a few gamers I know and they are….STOKED! I was surprised by their reactions, actually.
But are they going to buy the set?
I was really looking forward to this set coming out, but $300 is way too much. If I can get it for 40% off with all discounts, I would get a few. I do remember playing it with my brother over Christmas break 30 years ago
The mini figs is the ONLY thing I want from this set. Way too pricey for just mini figs when sitting next to bara dur!!

Gamers seem very excited for this. I think a new zelda will be released soon. And a second new game within the next two years.
But we just got tears of the kingdom?
I'm going to preface this by saying I'm a big Zelda fan, and this isn't some butthurt comment.
BUT you are wrong about it being way past its peak. I would argue the true peak was around 1998 in the Ocarina of Time days, but the two latest games in the Breath of the Wild series has reinvigorated the series, are some of Nintendo's top selling games and might be the best ever in the series.
I will concede they dont sell as well as Animal Crossing or Mario games, but Zelda is still very much alive and well.
Now that I've got that out, I dont think its a great investment set because its grossly overpriced. It should have been $200 to $225 max, so if you get it for $200, or 33% off, it won't really seem like a deal, because it seems that SHOULD have been the retail price. And will someone pay close to $500 so you can double your money after fees? I dont think so for this set.
Also hoping for Brickheadz and other sets.

This might be the most overpriced set of the last 2-3 years. It's also wildly underwhelming aside from the swords. They should have waited to release this specific set AFTER an Ocarina of Time remake (if there is one). No ones going to buy this - it's just too expensive.
Nobody that knows anything should pay regular price for lego.
