Hope you guys can chip after this!
Now I can chip thx
Looks like your shoulders are very level, is that a thing you recommend when chipping?
Thank you Grant, hard to have confidence when you know your technique is bad
@@robertshawnmitchellyes! Level is good
@@robertshawnmitchell shoulders should always be level unless ur hitting the driver
I’d love to see more in-depth videos that get into different lies and types of chip shots. Also what lofts you would recommend for different types of shots.
me too go a little more in depth...there are a million videos out there going over the basics..it really is no secret as he claims
It would interesting to hear more about how to play chip/pitch shots off a severe down/up slope
Exactly…the only real problem I have is when the ball is sitting on top of a fluffy grass lie and my club has enough room to basically go underneath it or maybe maybe make contact with the top 3 grooves
Hi Grant, since driving ranges don't simulate uphill and downhill lies can you make a video on where the ball needs to be in the stance, how your aim point changes, clubbing up/down, and overall on the course tips since its near impossible to practice? Keep up the great content and even better golf!
thankyou so much for this video!!! all your coaching videos have been spot on!!!!! everysingle one has helped my game so much!!! the chipping feels so good now, and even the bad shots come out good
The sweep/bounce concept was a game changer. Chipping is about the only thing I have confidence in now. Would like to see a video on ball striking especially with 7-9 & P irons including common pitfalls and their solutions (low hard slice, chunking, weak distance)
For the more advanced players - it would be interesting to hear about how to THINK properly on the course. How to bounce back after a bad hole/round.
You can't teach a personality trait. I never get upset on the golf course, and am in a good mood. Some people break clubs. Not much he can say to make you "think properly" just relax and move on.
Try smoking you one
You’re not getting paid to play a game. Who cares what you shoot?
.... Go se a therapist
@@pt9373 I find some of my playing partners who are scratch players have a different mindset when it comes to playing the game.
They putt differently (the mindset seems to be more of "make it" rather than "don't three putt") - of course this is just one example.
The reason I ask for Grant's input is when I watch his videos - he always seems to be on the positive side of things (ie: I will get this up and down for an eagle).
Obviously a very talented player - I would like to hear more about his insights, partly to get a glimpse as well of how he thinks when he plays - and hopefully I can learn and apply some of it on my own game.
Your demeanor and knowledge make you an ideal teacher. I'm impressed with your presentation. Big muscles and a sweeping motion are the keys to chipping. Keep it simple!
How about an episode on the adjustments senior golfers should make to enhance their golfing experience?
Great thanks, more lessons please. Putting, fundamentals of setup and swing for driving and irons. Cheers
Great video. I’ve actually gotten a lot better around the greens because of your videos on your channel and the Good Good extras you used to do. One important point in chipping is that you have to have confidence in yourself to pull off the shot. I keep telling myself that I am good around the greens no matter how bad I am doing:setting myself up for success not failure.
Thanks for the lesson Grant! Hope to see a lesson on how to stop bottoming out behind the golf ball, ball position across different clubs, and swing differences / similarities across clubs
Super helpful! Would love to see different chip scenarios (e.g. out of rough, etc)
man im loving these lessons. simple and to the point. no beating aorund the bush. so many other channels videos its a sea non sense. thanks for keeping it straight foward
So timely Grant. I've been losing several strokes with chips lately and this is perfect to help me work on it. Great video!
Thanks for making my morning interesting. I would love to see lessons on shallowing/keeping driver swing on the inside, and low point with irons.
New golfer here! Really like your technique when it comes to explaining things, a putting vid for beginners would be awesome! From the grip to the technique!
Great tips Grant, loving the steady uploads and content. Keep Rockin Brother
Love this teaching channel. Walk us through the most effective way to hit a bucket of balls at the range. Thanks for the lesson!
Single digit handicap Canadian here. Great video man, I've been thinking about chipping a lot lately...
After playing for 20+ years I think chipping may be one of the hardest parts of golf for new players. You can accidently hit good shots and even fluke putts in, but it's pretty dang hard to fake a chip shot. Especially if you have to put some air under it.
Growing up in Canada I was lucky my Dad let me cut a makeshift green in the backyard. Couldn't putt on it but great for chipping. I can't say how many but I probably hit tens of thousands of chips over a few years. Chipping and pitching is the best part of my game now surprise surprise.
Here's a tip for newer golfers. If you want to really lower your scores learn to chip and putt better.
Get them reps in!
Cheers
I wanted to personally thank you for putting out this video! I am a perpetual 16-17 handicapper that has struggled with chipping/pitching for years. I took this advice to the range and the course and today, for the first time EVER, shot even par over 9 holes. I am still having trouble processing this. TBH, I figured out a couple of things with my driver as well, but the chipping/pitching has seen by far the largest improvement. Single digits, here I come! Thanks again.
If you've been golfing for years and you're stuck at 16 HC - this stuff here is probably where you're losing strokes. 70% of golf is within 140 yards. Like you said, you shot even par on front 9.
You're probably a true 6 HC if you stop losing strokes around the green.
More bunker play, please!!! Great videos so far... ! Thanks so much....
Great video Grant! Would love to see chipping from different lies, and how to gauge different distances using the chipping technique
Great video Grant. Some of the things that I would like to see are:
1) Full swing and how to move away from the ball and not sway
2) Compare the modern versus traditional bunker techniques
3) Setup and alignment with ball position for driver versus irons
4) Tee height for fairway finder
5) Putting philosophy, being a feel player versus mechanical
6) How to hit irons high, low, fade or draw
7) Course management, how to score and think around the course
Loving the videos, getting closer to breaking 90! There's plenty videos on how to hit irons and drivers all over youtube, but I would love to see a video on how to set up and hit 3 wood and hybrid clubs. Thanks, keep up the good work!
I love these teaching videos grant really helps, i’d love to see a video for those who struggle keeping they’re front foot planted, I have a tendency especially when hitting drives of almost jumping at contact, I’ve been working on it a bit but would love some drills to try help that. Great vids on the channel keep grinding, all love man 👍🏼⛳️
Would love to see a video on early extension! As a someone who is struggling to shallow and get the right rotation it would be really helpful
Awesome. I went home and tried this. Helped a great amount. Cant wait todo this on the course.
It’s the little things that make you so great, Grant! Like at 0:45 your shoe has “GOAT” on the bottom, but I don’t think it was coincidence that you blurred it out…humble and helpful! I appreciate your videos man
Great video! Would love to see a vid on releasing the club/clearing hips, and having good impact through the ball
Awesome!!!! You have a natural ability for teaching Grant, great stuff!!!
Thanks so much for that lesson! Very helpful
Great content Grant! I really enjoy all your videos. Like the positive vibes. Would like to see a video around how to be more consistent with hitting wedges.
Pitch shots or anything 65yrd-20yrds from the green would be great. Awesome lesson today!
Hi Grant, good stuff! I would like to hear more about chipping, in addition from doing it from the rough, on doing it with the ball above/below one's feet and on a downslope/upslope. I find most people I play with generally do a good job when chipping from a flat, good lie such as the one in the video, but struggle with bad lies.
Great job grant. Really like the way you explain everything. Can’t wait to try it out
Thanks Grant for another great lesson. You summed up my chiping game definitely going to try those few things .
Thanks for the awesome video, Grant! Super helpful around the green!
As a beginner, I think short game is one of my weakest areas, especially putting. I'll play a round and often have around 44-49 putts, which feels terrible when I think "If I just got closer to 36, I'd be breaking 90". So personally, I'd like to see you cover putting in a video, specifically the following:
- Properly gripping a putter
- Putting technique
- How to/drills to practice putting
Thanks for the insight. Next time out will try. Would like to see hard pan or minimal grass chip shots.
I like how you explained everything. It was easy to understand how everything worked and why.
As far as what I'm struggling with, my 3wood is one club I have absolutely zero confidence in. It'd be cool for you to do a video on setup and tips with a fairway wood.
Nice video. I live in Ireland and the Golf courses are absolutely saturated here at the moment with all the rain. I feel the shot at 5:04 where if you hit behind the ball, it would end up up as a chunk shot here because the ground is so wet and muddy the club will go through it like a hot knife through butter. Where as during the summer it would work like a charm. We need different types of chip shots for different times of year over here lol
Grant, love both your teaching channel and your regular CZcams channel. Best of luck.
Hey Grant! Huge fan. I watch all your videos. Would love to see you explain your iron striking technique. Stance at address, ball positions, shoulder turn, wrist angles, shallowing, follow through, swing thoughts etc. As you have such a flawless swing, I think there is something in that video for beginners to advanced students.
Also, I know you’ve done bunkers before, but more of a deep dive on bunkers in the future would be ideal. How hard to swing, high faced bunkers, width of your stance, finish positions etc.
Hi Grant. Would love some help with wrist setting in the back swing to help get pure/solid strikes. Tendency is having a "cupped" lead wrist rather than it being straight or bowed.
Great video here, can't wait to practice this. Look forward to your next one!
Great video, Grant! I’d love to see some videos on putting routines.
This small amount of info has helped tremendously my issues. Thanks.😊
Brother can I just say you’re a great teacher! Every one always shows the correct way to chip or hit but they never explain why you hit bad shots. And you explain it completely. Thank you
Hey Grant, great video on chipping. Would love a video on how to hit flop shots and when its best to use them like maybe when short sided around the green. Thanks and keep up the quality videos.
Great videos Grant. Could you make a video on transition? How to start backswing and downswing with your lower body? Thanks!
Love the vid grant! I’ll try this next time I’m on the course. For a vid I would find it useful for a form video. I find myself struggling with my form and keeping it consistent (take away, down swing, etc) Therefore I end up toping the ball a lot. Would love to see a vid on basic form and how to keep it consistent! Ether way love the teaching videos and keep up the great work!
awesome content as always grant! we wanna see the putting video! mindset, drills, whatever you have to offer would be much appreciated!
great video !!
could you make a video of how to keep the angle to the perfect moment in downswing :)
Played last week and could not chip to save my life, these instructions were a good refresher and I look forward to putting them into practice tomorrow. Thank you!
Great video! I’d love to see your method for hitting higher shots with mid and long irons. I learned to play golf in Texas where low flighted shots are a must in the windy conditions. However, now that I live in Arizona, I really need to hit my 5-9 irons higher so the ball lands softer. Thanks!
Awesome as always, thanks Grant & good luck 🍀 in your PGA qualifying event in S.C.
thanks brotha, fan for a couple years and love what you are doing and helping folks like me who badly need it lol
What a great lesson 👏 ❤ straight to the point really simple will be doing this on my next round 👏 👍
Great video! Would love to see one on fairway woods and hybrids too.
Good stuff! Would love to see a similar video chipping out of the rough around the green. Would you introduce wrist hinge in those situations to pop it out?
great video...thanks! very helpful! explain the difference in bounce in a wedge please
Thanks Grant. This was really helpful. When selecting new wedges I see so many options for bounce and grind. Is there a happy middle ground to select? A video explaining this would really help
Good lesson!
I would like for you to talk more about the golf swing and weather you should pull with left arm.
I have no distance with my irons, and I fell like I have tried everything.
Thanks for this awesome lesson! I would love to see a video on how to read greens
Great video Grant! Thank you!
Great video Grant. I been trying to use Phil’s hinge & hold but it is really hard to master without a lot of practice. This makes it a lot easier and forgiving. I would love to see some videos on how to hit it out of the Bermuda rough. Thanks
Putting lesson! I really struggle with tempo, speed and distance control. Considering the putter is the most used club definitely would be a great video! Keep up the good work Grant.
No one can fix your putting for you except for you. Putting is just 100% repetition and practice.
Good instruction thanks
I appreciate you taking the time to demonstrate what a bad shot looks like and the results of a bad shot. A lot of times j cthese videos we get “don’t do this” but we don’t get why not todo it.
great lesson cant wait to try your techniqe TY!
U drive the ball so well !! So the full swing with the driver would b great keep up the good work many thanks from the UK
Excellent job Grant in explaining the cause of "chunk" shots around the green. I use to never have trouble with this shot, but here lately, it is plaguing me. After viewing this video, I think my main problem was weight distribution and hand position. I will definitely be making your recommended corrections! Well Done Grant! I've also become a new subscriber!
it will be great if you can explain and demonstrate what is pressure shift versus weight shift. thanks G!
Great video. This has helped me chip well way more consistently. Would love to see how to chip when on a steep incline and decline.
Hi Grant love your videos ! I would have loved you to speak about the bounce degree and recommendations
Great video! Would love to see a video on releasing the club
Great video. I would like to see your thoughts on a good swing for all types of iron shots.
Grant: In addition to a great golfer, you are a very good teacher! Glad you started this Channel to share your knowledge in an easy-to-understand and apply way. I would be interested in a lesson on downhill and uphill chips that we sometimes face just off elevate greens.
Very useful. Thank you!
Would love to see content on developing a swing that produces your dead straight ball flight. It’s a thing of beauty.
Thanks for the tips!!!
Nice and simple! Good lesson.
Thanks for the bottom of the arc tip! I am lost in bunkers and I know you've done videos on bunker technique, but it would be nice to compare this chipping video technique to bunker technique and the similarities vs differences between them. I guess I struggle with bottoming out the arc in sand...
Thanks grant! Definitely needed some tips
Learned A LOT, Thank you!!!
Great video love all ur stuff grant!! I would love to see how to set up and hit a hybrid and wood ty!
I appreciate the drill with the focus on using the big muscles. How about greenside bunker shots? Straight alignment versus open stance.
Amazing to give such great free content good sir!
Amazing video as always, i’d like a video on how to hit the driver, not only that but specifically getting a buttery tempo like you or max homa
Would love to see a lesson on hitting a Hybrid vs Wood. Always seem to be tricky clubs for me to hit out on the course and the range. Love the channel!
Me too, seems like you always hit flush with the ground
Your videos have really helped my swing I'm still a terrible golfer but I'm hitting the ball straighter keep the videos comin
Love this. Very helpful and simple.
My biggest struggle is on what I perceive to be tight lies (like little to nothing between the ball and hard ground). Would there be any different tips/technique for that?
Super helpful lesson, would love to see you make a video on slicing a driver
Very good explanation of thinning and chunking chips. I’d like to hear about the 12 math concept of chipping.
Awesome video, very helpful. Could you use that same technique from the tall grass around the greens as well?
Good tips! Subbed!
Great ! would like one about the Flop shot, and also the ratio between the landing point and the total distance to the pin according to different lofts
The low left exit/release that I see even you have Grant. Definitely would love a lesson on how you achieve that! Thanks for the lessons Brotha 🙌🏾
Hi Grant this was very useful. Thanks. Please could you talk about how to chip/pitch from different lies, uphill, downhill etc? Plus perhaps out of different types of rough. Thanks!
Would love to see a good video on tempo! Love these, they are so helpful!
Great and simple video!
Please also add how to chip out of the rough.
Thx G! Love to see a bunker 101, including distance control. So hard!
Love the video. Can you give us a part two for uphill and downhill chips? How should you judge distance differently? Should I club down on a downhill lie? When should I expect check versus roll-out?
Great lesson G . How about a video lesson on distance control up to 70 yards, types of shots and proper wedge selection.. Thank you
