    I’m so glad we get to see this matchup again this year. Rodgers is statistically better then Brady during most seasons. But due to poor management Rodgers has had to deal with weaker defenses and an inconsistent running game. Brady has usually had a middle of the pack to top 10 defense in his career and has been coached by the best in history in my opinion.

    • @robbietroyer2123
      @robbietroyer2123 Před 6 lety +1

      Michael Murphy Brady has also had a better defense (except this year) and a more solid running game to balance it out, Rodgers has had a mediocre defense and a lack luster running game

    • @fenner1986
      @fenner1986 Před 5 lety

      @Michael Murphy So I'll argue the Brady aspect of it and the O line, and we'll even give him the benefit of the doubt and do from 10-16 (discounting last year because Rodgers was out hurt)
      In this time frame AR played 5 less games. Had a slightly better completion percentage, only 1300 less yards, but 7 more TD's, 2 less interceptions, was sacked 50 more times (What was that about O-Lines being better?), had a better overall QB rating and AR also had almost 1600 more rushing yards and 5 more rushing TD's than Brady. So yea, no, Brady was not statistically better in that time frame. Especially when you compare something stupid like the last 3 seasons, in which the sample size is too small for a proper comparison (and benefits Brady due to AR being out a lot of last season)

    • @fenner1986
      @fenner1986 Před 5 lety

      Lol you're adorable. First and foremost, if we're gonna do comparisons, let's at least make them fair. If you're gonna include AR's first years as a QB, then do the exact same thing for Tom Brady, excluding someone's beginning years vs another QB is idiotic, there is a learning curve to the NFL and you cannot cherry pick to make one or the other look better. So AR started at QB in 08 and Tom Brady started at QB in 01, both taking over for their previous starters (Favre and Bledsoe respectively). I'm not cherry picking years here, nor frames of years, I'm simply taking the first 10 years of each QB's career (because that is the max Rodgers can go at the moment) and comparing the two using a non biased website that purely pulls stats - www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=1&player_id1_hint=Tom+Brady&player_id1_select=Tom+Brady&fromyear_1=2001&toyear_1=2011&player_id1=BradTo00&idx=players&player_id2_hint=Aaron+Rodgers&player_id2_select=Aaron+Rodgers&fromyear_2=2008&toyear_2=2018&player_id2=RodgAa00&idx=players
      In that time frame, it's very very easy to see who's the more talented QB and who's the more accomplished (there are differences between the 2 distinctions and if you need me to link definitions I can)
      AR 08-18 TB 01-11
      TD Passes - AR 312 TB 300 Winner AR
      Yards total - AR 38173 TB 39973 This could be considered a wash/tie, considering TB only has 180 yds more per year than AR, but Winner TB
      Comp% - AR 65.2% TB 63.9% Winner AR
      Int's - AR 77 TB 115 (lower is better) Winner AR
      QB Rating - AR 104.2 TB 96.4 Winner AR
      Sacked - AR 354 TB 276 Winner TB
      Yards per Attempt - AR 7.9 Brady 7.5 Winner AR
      Adjusted Y/A - AR 8.47 TB 7.67 Winner AR
      Rushing Yards - AR 2623 TB 716 Winner AR
      Rushing TD's - AR 25 TB 10 Winner AR
      Now, the stats above are a result of AR playing 142 games and TB playing 160. AR did more with less.....All regular season games as well
      OK, so people say that TB is a better playoff QB, lets look at that shall we?
      Playoffs
      TD Passes - AR 36 TB 38 Winner TB
      Yards - AR 4458 TB 5285 Winner TB
      Comp% - AR 63.5 TB 62.9 Winner AR
      Int's - AR 10 TB 20 Winner AR
      QB Rating - AR 99.4 TB 87.8 Winner AR
      Sacked - AR 39 TB 39 Winner - Tie/Wash
      Yards Per Attempt - AR 7.5 TB 6.7 Winner AR
      Adjusted Y/A - AR 7.95 TB 6.49 Winner AR
      Rushing Yards - AR 274 TB 80 Winner AR
      Rushing TDs - AR 3 TB 3 Winner Wash/Tie
      Playoff games played - AR 16 TB 22 (Again, AR did more with less....)
      These are purely statistical numbers here bud, no bias needed. I respect Tom Brady for who he is and what he does, and when he comes to my home stadium, he strikes fear into you because you respect what the man has done and could do. But he is NOT the most talented. So quit putting up on a pedestal.
      Superbowls - AR 1 TB 5 Winner TB
      Now, all that being said, yes, Tom Brady is by far and away the more "accomplished" QB. Make all the statements you want about him, but it is not just him that won those super bowls (or even got there), teams win super bowls, not individual players. Now they sure help a lot, but if it was just a single player doing all the work, he'd be throwing the ball to himself. Also I'd point out that if individual players were solely responsible for winning playoff games and super bowls, what's your excuse for someone like Dan Marino? Jim Kelly? Tarkenton? Fouts? Moon? All players with exceptional talent, but they didn't have a proper system in place to push them the rest of the way. Having a head coach as sly and cunning as Belichick certainly helps out as well.
      Now as far as the O-line, you do realize every one of those links you put out are someone's personal opinion and rating right? I mean if you're gonna refute things, at least provide numbers bruh....I at least pointed out that sacks on Rodgers were way up compared to Brady, if you think getting the ball out quick is the only thing that matters, then I'm not even gonna continue this conversation because I'll just be beating you down a little too much
      Buuuuuuuuttttt it's the internet and that's what people do, so here we go.
      I think we can both agree that O-lines have two important jobs, protecting the QB and providing proper blocks and holes for your rushing offense.
      So, lets take a look at the last 3 years of each team eh?
      2017 -
      Rushing Yards - GB 1724 NE 1889 - Winner NE
      Rushing TD's - GB 13 NE 16 Winner NE
      Sacks Allowed - GB 51 NE 35 Winner NE
      2016 -
      Rushing Yards - GB 1701 NE 1872 Winner NE
      Rushing TD's - GB 11 NE 19 Winner NE
      Sacks Allowed - GB 35 NE 24 Winner NE
      2015 -
      Rushing Yards - GB 1850 NE 1404 Winner GB (OMG we beat them in 1!!!!)
      Rushing TDs - GB 8 NE 14 Winner NE
      Sacks Allowed - GB 47 NE 38 Winner NE
      So it would seem that while Green Bay had a monster yardage year in 2015, they just couldn't punch the ball into the end zone and they allowed more sacks than NE that year. Overall it would certain appear, by the numbers that NE has a far more effective O-line eh? Now that's not an opinion, it's a numerically proven fact.
      So yea, I would say that the statistical analysis ended for me very well :)

    • @fenner1986
      @fenner1986 Před 5 lety

      Hahahaha, 2 things really quick, first, welcome to the internet, you're sitting here commenting on a youtube page dedicated to WI sports and acting surprised when the defense of their most beloved player comes into question. Second, I love when you start getting butthurt about someone throwing numbers back at you (hardly cherry picked, literally making them the exact same from one QB to another, but hey, go ahead, make half hearted excuses....) disproving something you initially started you immediately go into subjective opinions rather than raw numbers when you still don't seem to grasp the concept of accomplished vs talent, so let me go ahead and get those definitions I offered in the above post here really quick.
      Accomplished - achieve or complete successfully.
      Talent - natural aptitude or skill.
      As I said before, and as I'll say again, one does not equal another. Tom Brady is the more accomplished QB, AR is the more talented one.
      Buuuuut I can see it really truly doesn't matter whatsoever what I say to you man, it's easy to see you're fanboying for Brady the moment you start ragging on where people live and direct insults themselves. Or maybe it's not so much that you love Brady but that you hate Rodgers? Could your Sox statement indicate you're from Chicago? We wouldn't have a Bears fan in the house would we? Oh lord....that would explain why you're so vehemently against Rodgers......sorry about your team man.....you'll get back into the Super Bowl in another 20 years or so.....
