Gary the Aprilia Tuono V4 Riding Naughty Boy Presents Cake Stands to Old Farts!

- Well what an eventful evening this ride out to Willersey turned out to be! Thursday 20th June 2024 and an evening ride out to Willersey, sees Paul (Yamaha Tenere 700), Paul (Honda 400 Four), myself (Royals Enfield Hunter 350) meeting up and heading to meet Joe (Triumph Trident 660) on route to Willersey and for a Picnic by the pond. On route we meet up with our friend Gary on his very very naughty Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory bike, wow what a machine!
A chance for Paul to add some more run in miles to his Yamaha Tenere 700 which he has recently part exchanged his Suzuki V Strom for. It wasn't look before the first of the mishaps occurring as y right hand bar end mirror fell off whilst I was adjusting, transpired it was a screw had worked its way loose and had fallen out at some stage, anyway mirror retrieved and a full repair subsequently completed. Next incident, not shown in the video was Paul's Honda 400 Four dying on him, total failure, no systems operational at all. Approximately 30 minutes fault finding traced to a 15A glass fuse which had become so degraded that the metallic cap had become loose and detached. Spare fitted and we were back on our way. Paul has now replaced all of the fuses on the bike as a precaution.
Having picked up our mate Gary on the way we continue the final few miles to Willersey. On arriving at Willersey, we were in for another unexpected surprise when Paul had arranged for our special guest Gary to present Paul with a yellow banana shaped cake stand to match his Honda! This wasn't the end of it as unbeknown to me Paul had made me a bespoke cake stand liveried to match my bikes! Red for the Scram, Orange for the Triumph and Silver for the CCM with of course the black shaft to match the Hunter. After much banter and eating of sandwiches and cakes we headed of home with Gary barely able to conceal his embarrassment with the very strong possibility of him never joining us for a ride out ever again!

Hi Paul, apologies for the delayed response, you’ve got me thinking now; did Paul call the vicar and arrange for the bells to accompany the presentations 🤔 wouldn’t put anything past him! 😂😂
Mike and I watched this together this morning over our breakfast. Oh how we laughed. Perhaps not the quietest of picnic sites but it was great fun sharing with you all. Paul certainly put some work in during the week to produce the cake stands for you. But I think next time we need to eat at the table and perhaps dress for dinner 😂😂

Hello Peter and Mike, glad our silliness made you both laugh 😀 Apologies for the delayed response, arrived home from Norfolk about an hour ago. A descent amount of rain on the way home so Pocket Rocket is absolutely filthy, tomorrow will be spent cleaning! I’ll let the boys know our picnic dining etiquette needs improving, black bow ties are required as a minimum! 😂😂
The church bells were lovely weren’t they? Frank was a lovely man, we didn’t speak often but always exchanged pleasantries, I shall miss seeing him cutting his lawns and working on his house 😔
