Silent Hill is a place that changes it's appearance in every game and also the monsters the protagonists go up against are something Silent Hill makes up as a way to the protagonists to fight their inner demons. Even the side characters are something the town made up. And yes the music from the movie is from the game

His music is legendary, and the reason why silent hill games are athmospheric.

The MOVIE Silent Hill town is LOOSELY based on Centralia Pennsylvania. Look it up and you'll see some similarities on SOME details in the IRL town and the MOVIE town.

@@breizhKazh Youre correct, however my mistake is not making it more clear that it's the MOVIE Silent Hill was more closely based on the Centralia idea than on a generic unspecified foggy northeastern US town as it was in the game. So corrected in my original by ALL-CAPPING the word MOVIE.
You can literally have ash drifting around Centralia and the underground fire creates dangerous levels of carbon monoxide to seep up and can kill if yer caught in a bubble of CO.
Silent Hill Revelation is the second movie but it's not really a sequel because the first movie is based on the Silent Hill 1 game and the second movie is based on the Silent Hill 3 game.
Ohh ok, yeah I'm looking forward to watching Revelation, hope it's good and yeah i need to start playing the silent hill games
Yeah, the second silent hill movie really messed things up, wasn't very good but it does have a few cool moments

In my opinion the film is great for a film adaptation of a game. Especially since they use all the music in the film from the games.

Has for new film this year, it's directed my Christopher gans, its called 'return to Silent Hill' based from the Silent Hill 2 game (no spoilers for you) you should totally check out the Silent Hill 2 game for certain. Fun fact: the barbwire tentacle scene was inspired by a hentai the director really likes, which explains why there was some barbed in-and-out action goin' on.

The burned one in the hospital bed is alessa. She lived and was being treated, she grew in there and her soul split in half creating the dark alessa and Sharon as the good part of her soul. The witch is her original mom dahlia. But I grew up on the games and the movie was okay, but you learn a lot more playing the games.
Wow, yeah we definitely need to play the game to experience the complete lore of Silent Hill.

My favorite characters from this series are the nurses. They get more backstory in other silent hill films.

Yea there is actually an entire Silent Hill game series. This movie is based on the first one which came out on PS1. It's what got me into the franchise and while being quite different in certain aspects I think it captures the spirit of the game very well. It also works without the context of the game which can't be said about other game adaptation movies. (Looking at you Resident Evil.) The second movie is such a dissapointment because you can tell they've changed directors and didn't have a great screenplay. I'm very excited for the third one though. The game series is very worth playing, especially the first 3, they drop in quality after that sadly but all of them still have something very unique about them. I hope you guys enjoyed the movie. :-)
Yeah I think this summer or closer to October we are going to sit down and beat the first few silent hill games and I hope the third movie is great, I want to see more pyramid head

OMG I love your reaction so so much!!!!!!!! Your interactions and reviews are very entertaining and exciting!!! "Silent Hill: Revelation" is a sequel to the first film and continues the storyline, but with a change in director and production team, resulting in a film that is considered much worse compared to the first one, not a good movie lol. However, as an entertaining horror film, it's still quite enjoyable (at least for me haha). Additionally, the third film"Return to Silent Hill" has finished filming two months ago and will be directed by the same director as the first film. Since the director of the first film is himself a loyal fan of the game series, I believe the third installment will be just as good as the first. The storyline of the third film will be based on the game "Silent Hill 2" and will be independent story. "Silent Hill 2" is recognized by players as the most classic horror game ever made. I am really looking forward to the movie, which is scheduled for release in the fall or winter of 2024!!!

I also think they tame it a lot with the “bad” stuff so it is a lot less creepy
All the gruesome creepy stuff you saw here is removed and they rely on jump scare
I didn’t wanna compare when I watched
But it was to obvious and easy to compare how bad they did the sequel
I mean if you wanna see creepy design … there is at least 1 “tame down” in creepy stuff sadly
13:30 The ashy scenery represent the "fog world" in Silent Hill, I guess in the movie it's the Ashy World. Harry (Sean Bacon) is in the Real World. The Darkness represents the Other World, where the Nightmare is made tangible (to Rose and others in the Ashy Silent Hill).

This movie is awesome! Also it’s the best game/film adaptation. There is a new one coming out this year by the same director. Got high hopes for it!

The movie folks took great pains to faithfully incorporate as much elements of the ORIGINAL game into the movie. Altho, TBH methinks the better game to play is the original Silent Hill, even tho the searching parent is reversed in the game in that it's the father, Harry Mason, who's seeking the daughter, Cheryl.
Unfortunately that game is on the PS1 and only can be played on the PS1/PS0 or the PS2 and PS3 consoles. The PS4 and up cannot read the PS1 discs. The earlier PS3 can play PS2 games. The older PS4 can read-play PS2 but not PS3. The latter PS3 & PS4 are not backwards compatible except via downloadable content from the PS Store Premium membership.
I always felt the game was way better than the movie, IMO👈👈

You’re better off emulating and starting from the start of the game series, considering this movie mostly adapted the original ps1 game
i do have a ps1, i'll see if i can find a copy for cheap if not i will go the emulation route

Movie is good other than some story changes from the original PS1 Game. You should play it as well as Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 on PS2. 4 is the start of the series going downhill as the original creators were leaving at the time. Silent Hill 4 is still good though. All games after are by western developers who don't understand the original games. The game you show at the start is Silent Hill Homecoming and is one of the worst of the western Silent Hill games. It's best to play the originals first to understand why. By the time you play Homecoming you can decide if you like it or not.

@@TwoReelEntertainment The movie changes a lot of the story and in the game it's a father looking for his daughter. The town in the games are not based on a real place. The movie version of the town was based on that real place. It's snowing in the game. Nobody should be mad you started with the movie when your new and learning about the games for the first time.
