Norm Duke has always been one of my favorites, but I always rooted for Ringener back in the eighties and he always seemed to lose. One wonders if he had won this tournament whether his career would have turned around. The first match was a heartbreaker.
he seemed to choke up....... i remember the gutter ball against mccune at the pba national in 93.......phil was a nice guy, but had a tough time under the pressure!!!

You are right! I another factor was that he did not keep his head steady- but neitherdid Roth.

Norm Duke nearly dodged a bullet in the opening match when Philip Ringener left the Bucket 2 4 5 8 on his fill ball in the 10th frame
