Let me make one clarification. it was actually an advertisement for the movie "Jaws 19"🦈🍿🎥☝️🤓
The real reason is because it’s cool as hell
We have this in my country aswell, really gives the futuristic vibes
But they only work if you look at them from a very specific angle. Take a few steps to the left or right, and you break the illusion.

I find it so crazy that now in my lifetime we have that and they look 100 times better then they did in that movie!
This is one of the coolest things ever. Unfortunately there are so many ads everywhere I have gotten simply used to ignoring them. Why do ads need to be better? Let's make entertainment better! I probably see hundreds of ads every day and not once have any of them ever appealed to me. And making them better or more fun isn't going to change the fact that it's an annoying advertisement taking up precious space and resources. Have yet to see an ad that isn't an eyesore and/or make me want to NOT steer clear of said advertising company like ads usually do. Word of mouth is so much better. I'd rather buy from a company that doesn't annoy me everywhere with ads. Thanks for reading my rant.

10 years later... 5D billboards draw more customer attention effectively than 3D advertisement..

Cost so much money, modern society displaces its consumers by paying a heaping so as those commom folks can't aford living expenses due to the housing needed for those creating the billboards. Someone should create a homeless bill board, working class homeless people straddling wages and roofs.
Of course that’s amazing way to advertise and capture crowds but that doesn’t mean that people will buy those things 😂😂😂

3D billboards have got to be the worst form of advertising.
All the attention you’re drawing is useless if it’s all on the 3D image and not the product you’re advertising.
Rarely does anyone see a 3D billboard and notice what they’re selling or who they are.
You're right..the 3D effects are the ones that the people admire most;not the products they're suppose to advertise...this is becoming a trend but it doesn't help the product sell..🙄😌😒🤔
