I Know His Grace Is There When I Fall | His Grace

- Josh liked playing poker and was often hosting a game or making the drive to a casino. One time, a friend handed him a pill that would keep him alert. It was meth. “I was hooked immediately,” Josh said. Soon he was consumed by it. His constant desire was for his next hit.
Over the years he told many lies to his wife, who thought he’d been clean. When she learned the truth, she took their two children and left. As he walked back into the house, he knew he had two choices: continue as he was doing and die or get help.
He met with his bishop as often as three times a week. In those meetings the bishop focused on scriptures and prayer. Josh knew about those things, but he never knew what it felt like to really receive an answer from heaven.
He thought his efforts would “make things go back to normal.” But they didn’t.
One day while reading in Matthew, he read how the Lord openly rewards those who pray in secret. He squirmed his way into this tight bedroom closet and knelt down. He’d asked for help before, but this time was different. He felt a change of heart. His desires were different. He wanted to know the Lord’s will for him and committed to whatever the Lord required.
“That moment I felt love and light, like I was in an open space filled with warmth,” he said. “I wanted it to never end but was scared that the moment wouldn’t last.
“The power of the Atonement was real, even for a drug addict like me. I wondered, who am I that the Lord cared?”
Josh felt light come back into his eyes. He felt new feelings and desires.
“I watch my 4-year-old ride his scooter,” he said. “If he fell, I’d pick him up. He’d want comfort and love.
“I feel like I’m riding my scooter in life. I know He’s there for me when I fall.”

I'm grateful for a Savior that never fails to pick me up, despite my constantly falling down.
I've never struggled with drug addiction, but I had plenty of sins and weaknesses of my own. I too can testify that the love of Heavenly Father and Atonement of Jesus Christ has changed my life and desires.
Thank you for the reminder that we all fall off the scooter, and that we have a loving Heavenly Father who will pick us up and hold us. That gives me so much comfort in life.
This is a beautiful example of Step 1-3 of recovery:
How Great and wonderful the works of our compassionate and loving Heavenly Father in whom we trust.
We have a love Heavenly Father ,he is mindful of us and our needs . He always has his hands wide open to welcome us back home.
Without the forgiveness of Jesus Christ I would not be clean from all drugs today!! Amen
This video really invited the Holy Ghost to my heart as I started my day! For once, I wasn't rushed at the start of my day, and I saw this notification for this video. The analogy about the four-year-old was especially touching to me!
There is no more powerful feeling than the love of God.

I loved hearing this experience - "I felt love - I felt light." The Savior can lift us, heal us, and strengthen us at any time. I am so thankful to have a Savior.

So many times we think we are alone in problems or not worthy to pray or receive love from our Heavenly Father! And the power of Christ and His atonement is truly real! Heavenly Father is always there willing to take us with open arms, we just need to go as we are. Lay down our burdens, our shame, our hurt and hearts, and He will heal us...the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is the true Church and the church of Christ and i am so honoured to be a member of the true church ❤❤
What a powerful story. I haven't struggled with drug addiction but have my own struggles and know that God loves us equally and is willing to help us if we put our lives in His hands.
I too am grateful for the countless times I have felt our Lord’s hand guiding me where to go, choose the right path, confort me in my falls, picking me up a d carrying me in my darkest hours, guiding me to help my kids, and most of all confirming to me He lives and He is there for me always.
Just one touch from Him everything is new.
