  • Footage of Locomotive Services and West Coast Railway's Carabao Cup Final Footex services utilising 86101, 86259, 86401 and 47712 on the south of the West Coast Mainline. Seen first at Wembley Central after getting de-trained from a 350 due to fault, then at Harrow and Wealdstone and back at Wembley Central. The rare sight of a wrong-way running Class 377 is featured at Wembley Central, overtaking the faulty service we came in on. Also included is an ECS movement of Black Five 44871 from Orton Mere to Southall WCR through Kensal Rise.

I was on the train with 86259 and 86401. 86 haulage both ways and a Liverpool win. Can't ask for much more.

What a strange world. It’s taken me 60 years to get to love the 86s, but they have got there.

I'm glad you saved the best for the end. It was worth every minute watching the rest of the video just to see her show up to close it out! To me, that made the video. (Kind of gives you a clue to my age, doesn't it) 😂

When I worked at Rugby Borough Council I could look out of my office window and watch the 86s and 87s, sometimes two locks but mainly with DVT going past my office window.

Something that I envy you folks in Great Britain about, is how easily you can get a heritage locomotive out on an excursion, compared to here in the US. All the regulatory, corporate, insurance and financial hoops an organization has to go through requires darn near a year, just to get permission to run an excursion. Then you have the logistics of an excursion. By the time the owner of a heritage locomotive can put that together, money for the excursion is getting tight, so ticket prices go sky high. And, to boot, you have to find a branch line because of corporate imposed constraints on the main lines. Granted that we have tourist lines, and a couple of railroads that run "historic fleets," but their excursions are few and far between. As I said, I envy you. 😢😢😢
