I enjoyed your reaction- thanks! Yes, this has been a long time favorite of mine that gets overlooked and it is a big part of Voice Play history. Voice Play had auditioned for the first season of the 'Sing Off' back in 2009 but were turned down because they were all men and did not have a female vocalist in their group (Home Free auditioned for the 'Sing Off' 3 times for 1st, 2nd, and third season but were turned down all three times and also told that they needed to include a female singer). Rachel Potter was a long time friend of some of the members since high school and Voice Play did this cover with her and posted it on their You Tube page in 2013. The producers and casting crew of the 'Sing Off' saw this on their page and immediately contacted Voice Play and asked them to come back for an audition with Rachel. They did and they were chosen for season 4 with Rachel as a planned member. However, when it was time for the 'Sing Off' season 4 to start Rachel was competing on 'X-Factor' and unable to sing with Voice Play so they had Honey Larochelle come in as a last minute temporary replacement. Yes, Geoff looks so young here and different with short hair. At that time, Geoff was working for Universal theme parks as the other members of Voice Play were also working for Universal or Disney theme parks and both theme parks had strict requirements for their male employees to have short hair, no beards or mustaches, and no visible piercings or tattoos.
Ahh so that was Geoff that confused me 😂. Wow so different. Oh really that’s so odd. Well there group has changed quite a bit and now look where they are. It seems like they done well for themselves. Did they end up winning?
@@KaireemReactions No, Home Free won but they have all grown so much and achieved success so I see them all as winners now. You should check out "Survivor: Zombies Vs Hillbillies" as it is Voice Play and Home Free together. It was suppose to be used on the show for a faceoff battle between Voice Play and Home Free but Voice Play was eliminated earlier in the show so the faceoff did not happen. they enjoyed doing that one so much they did it together live on their 'Sing Off' tour. You would also enjoy another older one of Voice Play: "ACA Top 10 Old School RAP", a medley where all the members take turns rapping.

In this older line0up there are three of the founding members - yes, Geoff and Layne, and also Earl (standing behind Geoff). Earl left for undisclosed personal reasons in 2020. The guys started back in 1997, right out of high school. Attention and Chandelier are two more really good ones from the same era (both with Rachel)

Lots of fun and some pretty good parts (there is a more recent live version with J. None but it's a fan recorded video from a live performance so the quality is not too good). It's been mentionned by others, they also did a very cool version of "My Shot" from Hamilton. There's also a Twenty Øne PilØTS mashup but it's a colab with Kurt Hugo Schneider, on his channel. And their own version of Ride from TØP is pretty cool and deserves more attention.
