    First of all ,I must said that i love mitsubishi colt.
    My father bought 1.1 5d mitsubishi colt when i has about 4 rars old.Another colt 1.3 5 d was my first car after driver licence.I want to buy mitsubishi colt czt 1.5 mivec and modify it a lot.Of course I has many other cars; citroen xsara picaso,vw passat b4 afn 110 1.9 tdi,opel omega 2.5 td,bmw e36 ..and many others and i think that the colt is best of all.

      Colt is probably more reliable than most of the cars that you mentioned!
      Hope you buy a CZT soon!

    Good video, and I agree with your points! :) I got mine for 2800 euros with only 83000 kms, an offer I couldn't refuse! Very happy with the car, my friend bought one after test driving mine. I like how fast they are for the small size, and the low fuel consumption aswell as how easy it is to get them to 200hp :)

    Is this a good first car? How do you compare it with the Suzuki swift sport? I like the colt which is more powerful but how does it handle in the turns? I think between this and the Suzuki,but the Suzuki seems to me like a more enjoyable option. What's your opinion on this?

      Great car, very reliable and cheap to run. You can easily mod it to 200hp+ where as the suzuki with the N/A engine, there is not much you can do. Turning is a weak point of the colt, but there are aftermarket solutions as well. Both cars are front wheel drive city cars with all the pros and cons. Both cars imo are a bit too fast for 1st cars, but that also depends on the driver :)

    How much is it going to cost you to bring it up to 220 hp and how reliable is it after the perfomance upgrade

    • @allosMD
      @allosMD  Před 4 lety +2

      Good question but not a simple answer. You will need a custom exhaust, an aftermarket intake and of course an ECU remap. That costs less than 1000 euros, but my tuner said that if you want your car to be reliable you 'll probaly also need a better fuel pump, an aftermarket wastegate, and a better intercooler if you live in a warm place - and of course 98+ fuel, and better brakes and suspension to handle the extra power. So in the end its up to you and your wallet.. I have this setup for over a year now, it is my daily car, never had an issue or check engine light, and when I drive normally the car consumes less fuel than stock.

    actually this is a great video, i have had my colt for just over a year now, i have the 1.1 black edition and it is my 1st car, i am really enjoying driving it, i have a small issue with sometimes with starting it, when i turn the key it has no crank at all, it seems really sporadic too, but once its started it will start fine again and again...... leave it for a week and it may not start, also there was an issue with the electronic power steering, which when the car has done 100k miles seems to bob its head and the whole rack needs to be replaced..... which costs a fortune. apart from that its a great little beast, i hope to keep mine for as long as possible, so long as i dont get any more issues with the starting problems. any ideas to why i may get the starting problem will be greatly recieved.

      Prior to this, I used to own the 1.3 version, never had any electrical issues on both cars. I can only guess it can be a battery issue, altenator, or even an issue with the immobiliser? In any case a mechanic should check it ;)

      @@allosMD hi there, thanks for the quick reply, i had mitsubishi check the car over, and the health check that they did all the systems came back green health on it, its one of those electrical gremlins that possibly could take months to diagnose as when they checked it the car behaved itself perfectly and started every time. maybe i thought that it could possibly be a sticky starter motor, hadnt thought about the immobilisor too, one symptom of it not starting was the Engine managment light staying on after it was started, but after a couple if starts it would go off, so not sure if this was part of the issue, or an isolated issue. :(

      I own a Mitsubishi Lancer and I used to have a similar problem with random no-cranks when turning the key. It turned out to be the ignition switch (the one that you turn with your key) itself that was faulty. Replaced it and has been working like a charm ever since. Might not be your case, but maybe worth a try.

      @@tomsklovans thanks for the reply man! wow i have since replaced my mitsubishi simply because of the stated issues i was having with it, turns out there was a loose wire on the starter, even after it was repaired the wire still came loose...even after being repaired, i went to sell the car and the car was all paid for by the new owner and as soon as the money changed hands the car broke again! this made me lose half of the asking price...this was the final straw.
