Thank you for sharing @Tola Lusi
I will be resuming as a Biomedical Scientist this coming week (NHS trust).
Although our roles are completely different and not related.
The vlog was timely and encouraging.
❤️❤️❤️
My first subscription!!! I love how you were natural and reported as it is. I have worked in a care home here in Nigeria and over there wouldn't be an issue for me...I'm just waiting for an opportunity.
🤎🤎🤎
Many agencies recruit from Africa. Just apply.
Congrats sis, I am a nurse so I feel and understand firsthand what you are going thru but on observation of your demeanor/attitude, you will do very well. Keep your heart loving toward the elderly; work as on to God and He shall reward you richly plus give you strength. Hopefully you don't have to work every night so be intentional with spending quality time with your sons and husband. YOU CAN DO IT! Proud of you/remain blessed and will continue to pray for you and your family.
Thank you so much sis!... I truly appreciate this comment! ❤
Congratulations my sister I was just smiling coz you were smiling all through the beginning the smile was contagious

@@TolaLusi Ekaale ma, I have been thinking of this HCA route, and I saw ur video 👀, where you resigned from it, I have some questions that i need insight, what course did you study in school that made them accept you as a HCA, and how much was your salary as a HCA where you paid per hour or per week or monthly I mean total salary before tax
Congratulations dear, more strength in Jesus name. Am always happy for you.
Thank you so much sis 💓
Sis Tee of life. Enjoyment oo🥰🥰🥰🥰
😊😊😊
Sounds like what I can do. I have two children under 4, so night shifts might be just perfect. Thanks for sharing
You're welcome sis...❤️
Congratulations my sister
Thanks sis...❤️
I really rather the night shift over the day shift!!! Congratulations with the new job!!
Not so new now... thanks ❤️
Congratulations Tola, this was my very first job, years ago and was so greatful, I choose night shift because I wanted to pursue my studies during the day. Was a 7days in, 7days out, Is not a difficult job but just paying attention, just gets busy around super/dinner, change, medicine times then from there they sleep. Some nights are hectic but some nights are ok. It needs someone with a big heart and empathetic towards the elderly (mine was the elderly Health Care Assistance). Yes the challenges is when the reliever comes late cos you can't leave before you are relieved.
Yea. You are absolutely right sis
I am at the verge of applying mine and seeing this comment has really uplifted me 🥺 ,, I really want to graduate and become a registered nurse but I am ready to start small to......here in Kenya you cannot study while working ,am hoping I'll do it just like you've done it
@@bubbleb3199 I wish you the absolute best as you apply!...🤎
Does late relief means extra money or hours worked for free
For free my sister... that is why when it I time. I carry may bag and hand over to the next set of people...
Hi Tola
Lovin your video 📷
Thanks for watching ❤️
Hello Tola,,
Your videos are very informative,,thank you💕 I wanted to know if I could choose only day shifts if I work in a carehome?! Or do they assign us the shifts?
It depends...
You might want to ask your manager about it. Some of them may give you the option to choose...
Congratulations dear
Thank you so much ma...🙏
The Part Of "I forgot to sign out" made my day..I could relate🤣
😂😂😂
I just fell in love with this job and the UK, thanks sis, i think i can handle
You can do anything you set your mind to...🙌
Congratulations, is not easy as you just started but be strong slowly slowly things will get better. I just wonder why are you having a shift of 12 hours? In my country night shift is 8hrs.
Thanks. Some people also work for 8hrs here too. It just depends on where you work 🤷
Thanks for the enlightenment. Do you get to choose your shifts or working days yourself?
Yes. But that may differ in other places...
🕯 this for myself 🕯 congratulations
🤎🤎🤎
The fact that you are vlogging late at night without worrying about criminals, joh a dream🤧 sigh!,I wish that for African countries. All the best with your new job🤗
It is a dream! 😊
Thanks love ❤
you can do same in ghana tho..
Hello, thanks for shring your experience and giving us useful tips. May i ask if a drivers license and police clearance is needed for someone that wants to apply to this jobs? coming in September. Thanks
Yes they are...
...which courses should i do?
Hi @Tola Lusi, thanks for this video,it's so inspiring.
Could you please suggest schools that one can do a one year course in healthcare outside London for international students? Say someone from Nigeria. Something not expensive.
You don't need to be qualified to get a carer job in the UK, unless things have changed. They will usually train you on the job.
💯💯💯
@@marigoldbeam5475 Do care homes also train Care Assistants or only NHS offer training?
@@HistoryActivated I don't know the definitive answer to that, but I do know that my sister in law worked as a domicilary or daily care assistant when she first came to the UK before she went on to become a qualified nurse some years later. She was only 18 and she more or less learnt on the job with the agency and largely, it must be said, other carers, providing training. That was about ten years ago. I also know that some agencies who place live in carers train the carers prior to taking them on the books such as Corinium Care. You may want to throw open your question in the general comments in case there is a care home carer amongst the viewers or check some job ads to see what they say, they will usually specify if they offer on the job training. All the best.
Yes they do
Am a care assistant as well in a care home , and currently on sick leave , will go back soon , I work night shift as well full time, I hope you like your job………
Congratulations
Thank you 😊
I love your videos
Thanks for watching 🤎
I remember my facilitator saying if you don't sign out, its like you haven't done nothing 😂. Sorry, you were really tired.
😊... I forgot to sign out but the system automatically signed me out.
Hi Tola. Please can you explain what the paperwork contain.
Thank you.
The activities of the day
Their feeding charts
Their medications
Their sleeping charts
Etc...
Thanks so much for sharing this so did u need ielts exams before you can be employed as a career
No but that is because I Applied from within the UK. You will need it if you're applying from outside the UK.
My class mate. Go girl....
🙌🙌🙌
I only got in ur channel so interesting
Thanks for watching ❤️
Do you have videos of the paper work ?
How many hours and days do you work in a week and the number
Please tell me more about care notes
Hello ma dear can you make a video on the salary for carer with deductions and cost of living and how is the day shift like as well thank you.
Ok. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll work on it.
What is the salary like my dear
Congrats sis
Please How and which company did you apply to cuz I have applied severally all to no avail
Please don't despair... I saw the job on Indeed and I applied.... I almost gave up when this one came...
These jobs are in high demand so just keep applying....
All the best 👍
Thank you so much!
You're welcome 🤗
This us really informative.. please does it require cleaning their poo
Some aspects of care requires this but not all the time.
Finally I get to meet someone who said positive things about care homes, others choose to frighten somebody
🤎
Yeah this is 100% true.
Hi Tola, how many days off do you get a week?
It varies from week to week... I pick up extra shifts from time to time so this depends on you really...
@@TolaLusi Thank you. Glad to hear that you do get days off, after hearing you say you work 12 hours a shift got me wondering if they even allow you time off since there is such a shortage.
@@Letsnotforget they do... 😊
Just walked out of being HCA they pay you pennies and from what I saw not many of the assistants really care as they should about the residents.
I know exactly what you mean.
What are the prons and cons in working in a home care as well
This is another great suggestion!...
Expect this video soon!
Nice one ..... please how many residents are you dealing with ?
It varies.... it depends on what floor I'm working on. Please subscribe and stay tuned for more updates.
@@TolaLusi alright
🤎🤎🤎
Pls ma.. health care workers do there get accomodations
Hii sis .this my first time of coming across to your channel.....Healthcare do u work as an home carer at home. or you work at the hospital
Looking for to yur reply
This is a care home...
So, what's the difference between care giver and health care assistance? Thank you.
These terms are used interchangeably... you will also hear them referred to as "Carers "
Good day,
I watched ur video, thank u for dis beautiful information,
I have bewn employed as an health assistant, i will b arriving in UK soonest Wolverhampton city WV1
But seriously looking for accommodation or an apartment to rent for family, at least 1bedroom flat, please anyone has link for a genuine agent for me, please do help me it's urgently, thank you
Please tell me. What do you call a nurse working close under a registered nurse? We call them Enrolled Nurse right? I'm from Namibia and I'm a Enrolled Nurse so if I want work in the UK what will I be? Will I also be a health care assistant? I just need your knowledge on this
I'm not sure sis... but you might be right.
I want to know if I can move as a HCA with high school certificate from Ghana
Yea... so far you have your ielts with a minimum on band 5 score and you are above 16years...
This the same as caregiver ?
Congratulations 🎉🎉 did you apply directly to a carehome or to an agency? I hear with agencies, successful applicants pay for dbs check from their pocket and the training they get in order to receive certificates.
I applied to a care home... yea... some of them do.
@@TolaLusi thank you
🥰🥰🥰
Ok
Hi Tola! I'm a Nursing Lecturer and I'm thinking about moving in UK as a senior carer, I watched many videos before your one and saw that carers are not getting recognition, people treat you badly so and so and I was quite discouraged. But after seing this I thought to proceed, carer post is not that bad ryt
It's not all bad. Yes there are some sad days but it's not always like that
@@TolaLusi Thank you so much dear! Hope to see you soon!
From Sri Lanka
@@KalpanaGunawardana 🤎🤎🤎
My employer told they work 7am - 10pm. Does that mean I have to work 15 hrs per day? There must be a limit of hours per week ryt?
Yes... don't worry... you'll get breaks in the middle
Wow nice, were u a nurse in nigeria or you got the Job without any qualification?
Without prior qualifications
How long does it take from ur house to the care home
About 6-9mins drive and about 40mins walk....
Im a professional nurse in SA thinking of Coming to the UK and work in the care home. Some says sometimes it gets boring since tasks usually gets repetitive and there isn't much to do. Did you guys write the IELTS?
It's true that it can get repetitive but there are some unpredictable days...😊
I didn't have to write IELTS because I was already in the UK when I applied.
I am RN in SA as well, thinking of relocating to the UK. So yes, from the research I did, we have to write either the ielts or OET tests. So let's do this bruh .

@@TolaLusi hi sis. So do you know any recruitment agencies taking new people? I have all the courses (Red Cross nurse aide and CPR, IELTS 7, TB and police clearance).
