The most terrifying thing Tammy said that’s not in this clip was “The coolest thing about this is that right now, there’s only one person in this room that knows what the truth is, and in about five minutes there’s gonna be two of us” she made ME nervous when she said that.
She knew the truth already. You need to watch the whole interrogation. Chris didn't "confess" til Wednesday night...HOWEVER the drine footage they show him was from during the day when NK called the tipline. When TAMBURGLER shows Chris the drone footage...he doesn't know where the girls are. That's why she points to the oil tanks when she puts the picture down in front of Chris..Tammy is a shady character..who else do u think was feeding lies to media at the same Chris was being interrogated!!.LMAO

That's what makes her so good at her job. People say that polygraphs are pseudoscience, but when they're correctly administered by the right person, they can yield amazing and accurate results.
All of the females that do this job in every state has to be good. They will make a person nervous. They act as though she's a star. She did her job. There's a whole bunch out there that know what they're doing. It's a fact. This is overboard everywhere I look. It's ok but waaay too much. Cray cray

There’s no scientifically measurable difference. The so called “pattern” is not repeatable, making it bunk science.
It's critical thinking like this which goes some way towards explaining why polygraph tests are not enforcable. If they were reliable, they would be.
It's nice to see some reasonable people here! Polygraphs can be a great interrogation tool, but that's all. A way for police to trick. No lie detecting. Drives me nuts when people say, "they wouldn't take the test so they must be guilty!".. maybe.. either way, they're smart not to!!
@@ND-or5so Who's "they"? On JCS, a channel that shows publicly available interrogation videos and comments on them, you can watch a video called "Guilty until proven innocent" where you can see innocent people accused by police of robberies and interrogated in a very unfair way.

I would fail a lie detector test for even simple stuff, I feel like. I am a very fidgety and anxious person, unfortunately.
I think I would too. I’m not normally fidgety, but a polygraph would make me very nervous. Since they are not admissible in court, I’m likely never gonna take one. One of my life’s goals is to entirely avoid the criminal justice system!

They take all that into account. Most people are anxious on a polygraph, except for hardened criminals and psychopaths, who don't feel stress, fear and nervousness like normal people do.
Me too, I have social anxiety and just having to sit there and talk to a stranger under so much stress would make me fail. If I ever were in the situation where I was asked to take one, I would deny and give them this explanation.
Implying the mother killed her children would be cold and awful IF Tammy actually meant it. She didn’t, she knew full well that he was guilty and was saying that to manipulate him. I don’t fault her for playing into the psychology of it all to get justice.
Yeah I think this is called the Reid Technique? I might be wrong though, like getting the suspect to admit to a lesser crime, in order to later get them to confess to the full thing?
The only problem with Tammy saying this, all the crazies come out and take it quite literally that SW did kill her little girls. It's so frustrating and annoying that people still really believe that SW did this, it's absolutely not true! CW is 💯 guilty and where he belongs!!!

I think that people believe Shanann killed them bc between the two of them (her and Chris) she appeared to be the one who flew off the handle, she’s the one who couldn’t handle them & shipped them off to daycare all week while she stayed home and didn’t work (unless you call handing out thrive samples a job 🤷🏼♀️), she always called them “monsters”, she medically abused them, she shoved thermometers up their buttholes daily to the point they were tryin to do it to their dolls and family dog (why did she do this? To make it seem like they had another mystery illness of course), She fed them thrive bars, cold pizza cereal and buttered noodles (cereal and thrive bars both contain tree nuts Cece was supposedly deathly allergic to), she texted friends telling them she can’t and will not do it alone (if Chris left her), she stated in her own words she didn’t want the new baby, asked Chris if they should abort, she was a compulsive liar, she told the world she had illnesses she never had (per her autopsy), she did not care if those kids had a roof over their heads ( were months behind on payments and a year behind on HOA payments Chris put her in charge of finances and she lied to him and he believed she was paying all of this), she shoved benedryl down their throats to force them to bed at 6:30 pm, I could keep going on and on, it’s all there in her own words and videos for the whole world to see. So THIS, Is why people tend to believe she was more inclined to murder the kids. One of those while if I can’t have you then I’ll take away the only thing you care about, the kids!! Now I am NOT saying she killed them, as I don’t believe she did, I am simply saying I can SEE HOW people can and do believe it was her. Chris seemed to genuinely love rhem, never called them names bathed them played with them picked them up from school he did everything while she sat on her chunky ass doing absolutely NOTHIN! But Thrive has allowed her to be the stay at home mom she wanted to be .. lmfao

@@ApequH In a later interview, Tammy talks about how difficult it was for her to keep her composure, and that she knew she needed to project kindness to Chris but had a very hard time holding back her anger, sadness and disgust.

@@pitoketoo2709 What does this have to do with her ability to do her job? Granted, posture can be an indicator of how a person wishes to present themselves, even subconsciously. But given her stellar performance and results here, her posture clearly isn't a problem. She may have also been adjusting herself to appear more sympathetic and compassionate to the suspect. Also don't exclude that she could have a spinal issue that affects her posture. Yet STILL is able to successfully perform her job responsibilities.

It’s one of the easiest degrees to obtain similar to psychology and sociology. Those three degrees are equivalent to underwater basket weaving 101. Any Tom dick and Harry could’ve interrogated Chris. Very easy profession that requires no real skill set. It’s mind boggling they actually get paid well for doing this kind of work. Waste of tax payers money if you ask me

I remember watching her (when the footage originally came out) tell him that he's obviously a "bad liar" and thinking it was so genius on her part. It threw him off.
I have watched the polygraph footage so many times, and Tammy never ceases to amaze me with how she handled everything. One of the best lines she said is “has anyone told you that you’re a horrible liar?” You can see CW soil himself in his seat at that very moment. IMO people were mad at Tammy for giving CW the story of “Shannan killed the kids then I had to kill her” but I think she knew that was the closest thing to a confession they would get.
Those people are idiots who don't know the Reid Interrogation techniques, providing an alternative just to get some confession that they can then prove isn't true. And that's exactly what happened.
@@jessicalynn6285 Yes! The interrogators goal is to get them to admit to things little by little. It started with I had nothing to do with any of their deaths, then he admitted to being responsible for Shannans death, and then he admitted to all of them. You don't typically get confessions without a trail of admissions.
Im wondering, what he was innocent and she would have said that, would that line make him nervous and would that reflect on the test... If someone would say that to me and i would be innocent, i would panic. I think those tests are mostly bs. They're not even admissible in court.
I have had two polygraphs, passed both for a job. I hate them. I can’t sit still, still a bit ADHD at 62. I feel I always look guilty, although I am not. Not only is CW a murderer, he is also creepy. Enjoyed this.

I've seen this interview a lot of times and I will never stop marveling at how masterfully Tammy handled it, the way she effortlessly piles on so much pressure while still seeming so friendly and non-combative towards Chris is perfect. Shows how powerful the polygraph is as an interrogation tool, it's not useful as a lie detector, but if done right it can truly terrify the subject into believing they have no recourse but to confess and this is THE textbook example of how it should be used. Amazing.
I liked this a lot. Seeing the polygraph against the body language was very helpful. I'd love more of this.

Yeah, that woman seemed so sus. For me it was mostly the fact that she was too calm when talking about the whole thing. It's one thing to make the mistake of engaging in a relationship with a married man. It's a completely different story to be aware of the gruesome details of what he did to his wife and small kids and keeping it together so well when talking about it. I think that if I was in her shoes I would need a couple of months in a psych ward.

I can't say I care for her. I don't. She comes off as really immature more than anything.
But Shannan's family has BEGGED people to PLEASE stop talking about Chris and her. They said they knew more than the public and that she is innocent. She has been cleared on all involvement and the "evidence" on her phone pings were inaccurate during the crime. People talk about Nikki more than Shannan and her kids' memory and acting as if they know more than the family or FBI...
Why isn't that enough for people to lay off of her? I'd like to think I'd believe the family who says the big evil mistress is innocent over people raising pitchforks because she had an affair with a married man. She could be a narcissist and she does come off that way. But that doesn't automatically make her an accomplice and harassment towards her is really inexcusable.

in this house we stan Tammy Lee. she could teach a master class on interrogation and lie detection. her use of the 'alternate theory' (one of the steps of the Reid technique of interrogation) was brilliant. she picked a perfect time to bring it in. she could tell he was looking for a lifeline; for a way to keep saying 'i didn't do it'. but he was getting worn out and was shutting down. so when she said that, like you said Logan, he grabbed onto it with both hands.
People can be jerks about female cops. The interrogator in the Rocky Wei case did a phenomenal job but was unable to crack him, and people think she’s terrible because of it.
I think the cops that interviewed Chris's side piece were terrible They should have pushed her way harder
And I actually saw a case the other day where a female deputy not a detective had to do an interview on a killer because she was the only Spanish-speaking woman and the man had a problem with women so they knew her questioning him would make him crack faster than a man and she got that confession never having done an interview in her life and not knowing shit about the case women are bad-ass

I knew about this case for a long time, but wasn't aware about the details until recently when I saw the documentary. I kind of wish I didn't because it not only upset me, but also sent me into endless internet rabbit holes to try and understand the psychology behind what goes on in the head of someone like that. I kept wondering, were there any red flags that his wife missed? Is there any way something like this could have been predicted?
I ended up concluding that no, there was not.
They were married for several years and by all accounts he was a good husband and father. That poor woman might have suspected that he is capable of cheating, lying, leaving and many other things, but not this. It didn't even cross her mind. It couldn't have. It's too far from any normal person's imagination.
There are monsters walking among us and sadly we can't see them.
There usually are signs, sometimes hard to see. Look up the book Gift of Fear. Very powerful.

Best way out of the waiting they make you do after they hook you up, is to tell them they have 2 minutes to start or you'll leave! It works everytime. They will start as soon as you stand up.
The making you wait is a scare tactic and often leads to false positives and negatives. These machines are sensitive but that also means that they can over read as a result of someone getting too scared or nervous or anxious. This has resulted in the fact that lie detectors are not acceptable in a court of law contrary to what people believe.
It's tool and how they work depends on the skill of the operator an their ongoing training, and the up to date equipment. I saw a great documentary which explained old outdated equipment and under trained operators cause the false positives etc, and inconclusive results. On state of the art equipment with well trained operators there is no such thing as inconclusive, same with DNA testing. When police get poor results from polygraphs they can apply to state of the art labs to retest, but it costs a lot of money and many police districts don't have money in the budget for it. But of those who can afford it, they have been able to solve decades old cold cases....

@@juanitarichards1074 even on state of the art polygraphs you can very easily trick the machine. It isn't a "lie detector" it's a "sweat, blood pressure, muscle tensness, heart rate detector". If you control those and make them spike when asked the simple and easy questions it throws the entire test off and no question will register as out of the ordinary therefore giving an inconclusive test. There are people who make a career out of beating polygraphs and then teaching others how to beat them.
@@juanitarichards1074 and what the people in our military who are trained to fake the tests with a tack in the boot? This isn’t real science no matter how you slice it. It’s psychological warfare only. There is very little science with a lie detector test.
@@tgs5725 I know all of that, but I also know some polygraphs can't be beaten. They have other purposes besides lie detecting and can give investigators new leads to follow. They are in tool in an investigators arsenal and it depends how they are used, how up to date they are...and how up to date the technicians are. Just as doctors and surgeons and cops and FBI agents have to do refresher courses and keep up with the latest technology and techniques, so do polygraphers.

I had to take a polygraph during the preliminary hiring process at the Sheriff’s office. It was the most nerve wracking thing I have ever done.
Once you pointed it out in the test set of questions, I was able to hear the grateful relaxation sigh after the tense questions regarding the case. It would be more interesting to ask questions about the case that he would be able to be truthful about, so there's a better control than just actually easy questions. But it's interesting that I can hear that difference so easily now

If there's anybody here who still believes that there is anything scientific about polygraph tests, please watch Matt Orchard's video "The Lie of the Polygraph". He did an amazing job of showing what absolute junk the things are.
I feel like the polygraph, when used properly at least, is supposed to work a lot like non-verbal communication analysis. It isn't supposed to give the answer, it's supposed to be an investigation tool to give you information on where to search next. So, that's not wrong, so much as that's the wrong way to consider things.

Agreed, but it's kind of a sneaky psychological tool, to see how they react AFTER the test is administered. Kind of like when a cop lies & tells a suspect they have their DNA at the crime scene.
There’s kind of truth in both sides. Polygraphs are wildly unreliable in their principle, which is why they aren’t admissible in court but someone who is trained properly can utilize the fact that people think it can tell you’re lying. Yes, they’ll have nervous behavior regardless but if you’re able to read through that by having proper questioning and reading more into the answers and how they react nonverbally during their giving of the answers then it is a good placebo tool, for lack of a better term. They aren’t going to get you because you’re nervous, they’re going to get you because you aren’t answering the questions in a matter that someone who was innocent would be able to.
It’s just an interrogation tool. And the woman who administered the polygraph was amazing at her job.

I clearly need much more knowledge and training- as the only thing in my notes that I noted was a tiny (micro!?) movement from Chris when he was telling the truth - (ie- question 2 and 4).
But can’t wait to learn how to hear the voice changes without the visual aides- as yeah- I can’t hear those yet!

Netflix documentary I just started watching earlier this evening: American Murder: The Family Next Door About the Watts case, 88% on RT, likely worth a watch. Also trigger warning, it starts with sweet family videos when they were a few years younger. Heartbreaking and I’m not even a minute in….. also angering.
Those shows actually are one sided. I'm not going to put my thoughts here and things that were proven but please don't form an opinion by those half arsed shows.Especially the Net Flix. There's no was CW acted alone and SW is not a saint as ppl think. She was very abusive to her children. Most videos her mother had scrubbed due to what they showed. No one is bashing any victims it's just horrible hell they made this woman out to be the same when she actually cheated on Chris Watts before he cheated on her and actually they were pretty much broken up for many months. She's admitted to it and videos she went to speak to a lawyer she did admit to it to her or a hairstylist that was a friend of her mom's in North Carolina that she couldn't wait to get divorce and so on and so forth so again please don't take what these idiotic movies that were made as to truth because they are far from the truth

They picked up voices & giggles it was very creepy & extremely sad.

My thoughts, polygraph tests are a great tool during an investigation, but they shouldn't be admissible in court as evidence.

real talk, how would this work with someone who is neurodivergent like ADHD or something similar? I would imagine that the results you would get would be remarkably different than from someone neurotypical. Like she told him about moving and looking around but I couldn't imagine trying to stay still or to not look around.
Right? I twitch, and stim when anxious due to ADHD. I'd fail miserablely, I fear!

It's known that neueodivergence completely throws off a polygraph and they often come out with false positives on neueodivergent people. That's why they're not admissible in court. A lawyer would most likely always advise you against taking one if you're neurodivergent.
I took part in a study in the UK that was specifically studying this. Not with a polygraph test admittedly, but with body language analysis.
Subjects had to go through a scenario in a computer simulation where you follow 'instructions' sent to your friend via text. You go to what they tell you is their house and pick up their laptop and car keys for them. You then later get arrested by the police and are told that the place was completely ransacked and that in fact your friend does not live there.
The subject is then interviewed by the people conducting the experiment and filmed. Their body language when answering questions is then analysed, as well as the way they choose to answer the questions. One thing we found was that people with ASD, particularly those who scored high on the IQ and verbal reasoning test before the experiment tended to go into huge amounts of detail about what they remembered. They also had very impressive recall memory for details that neurotypical subjects wouldn't have necessarily been as focused on while playing through the simulation.
That and eye contact was almost non-existent, even subjects who had maintained eye contact earlier on when doing the IQ and verbal reasoning test. When put under pressure in a room with several people, eye contact became very difficult for subjects and had absolutely no correlation between whether or not they were lying.

My theory about why Tammy was wearing black and white is that when you watch the cops bodycam footage at the house, when Chris was talking to the cop in their walk in wardrobe, you can see that a lot of Shan'ann's clothes on hangers were black and white. So I thought that Tammy wanted to look similar to Shan'ann.

The mans sheer lack of interest in finding them said it all. If there were no other verbal or non verbal clues...the simple lack of interest in a situation where any innocent person would be flipping every possible rock over to see if their loved ones are under them...
