- Traditional publishing is notoriously slow, but is it actually?? As I've found out with the timeline for my upcoming rom-com novel You've Got Chain Mail, a book-a-year schedule is actually really, really fast. In this video I break down the entire writing timeline, editing timeline, and production timeline for the book, which is out this August. Preorder below:

I don't usually pre-order new-to-me authors, but I absolutely love the premise of this book and just preordered it! Thanks for sharing your timeline. This was really interesting as someone who aspires to be a traditionally published author. I'm glad youtube decided to recommend your channel to me!
Omg that means so much 🥹 I really hope you love it!! And I’m happy to have you here 🫶
Best wishes with your writing.
Thanks so much 🫶
Just pre-ordered - so excited!
Ahhhh thank you!!! Preorders are so so helpful 🙏🫶
This does feel so tight 😅
It really was 🙈
I’ve taken all 6 of my books off all the sites and am re releasing one every there’s months. 😮😮 I’m going through and am doing a line edit on them all, redoing all the covers, and am actually giving each a proper launch plan. It’s a lot but I’m not writing them all from scratch. 😊
That’s really smart!! I’ve heard of people doing that but not actually spoken to anyone doing it. How are you finding it going back to them after having considered them done at one point?
I’ve gone through two of the books and have Mande literally thousands of changes! I know I’ve muttered ‘I wrote that???’ and ‘what was I thinking’ a few times. 😆😆 I’m a relatively fast writer so this is only in the span of 3 years. But, I needed a fresh look at the books to boost my confidence. As if to say ‘yes, this is a good book!’ so I have that extra excitement when marketing them.
It’s amazing how much you find, isn’t it 😂 I recently dusted off a project I shelved a couple of years ago and it felt like it was written by a different person completely.
Yes! Like you were saying (either in this video or another), you didn’t even remember pitching an idea until your publishing company (?) brought it up. Lol!
And…back to my comment about your sub count…1,000 is amazing! I hope that didn’t come off as rude. 😊🤩
No not at all - it’s just a hobby for me, so the fact that anyone is here is a bit of a miracle 😂
As someone tossing up between trad and indie publishing, I love seeing your timeline. It definitely sounds hard 😅
It absolutely is, but indie is really tough too! I can’t imagine trying to manage all the stuff my publisher does. Indie authors are very impressive.
@@searchingforsamantha exactly! I’m honestly considering trad just because I’m broke and don’t have the resources.. 😂
Totally fair! I’d be really limited in that way too if I ever wanted to self publish. It’s SO expensive if you wanna do it right.
@@searchingforsamantha ikr it’s ridiculous! I have so much respect for indie authors too.
Best wishes with your writing.
Thank you!! 🙏
