  • Oklahoma men's basketball coach Porter Moser took over a program that looked similar to the one Bob Stoops inherited when he became the Sooners football coach in 1999. On this episode of Conversations with Coach, they discuss their approaches to rebuilding a program. “Being intentional goes further than any play you could have diagrammed at the beginning of practice.”
    Other topics include:
    *Moser’s biggest mentor’s in the coaching world;
    *The transition from Loyola-Chicago to OU;
    *Why the current Sooners basketball team is fun to watch.

    Living in Omaha I remember Porter playing on some really scrappy Creighton squads. Loved the hire. He's the basketball version of BV. Bob Stoops is just a special man. You can tell when someone had exceptional parenting.

    One of my fondest memories of 2001 as a freshman at OU, was seeing Bob at Pearl's in Norman eating with my dad, I didn't bug him. What I luv Moser even more being a Cub fan. My first basketball game ever was 88 I was 5, but we beat Arizona at LNC, this is the best basketball team I've seen at OU and Hollis's teams were great in the early 2ks

    Great interview. I watched OU destroy Iowa yesterday. This is a very athletic team with some high flying dunkers and rebounders.

    Gosh ..When your roster of Coaches has legends like this, very easy to see why the University of Oklahoma has the best athletic department in the world .. and it’s not even close .. Sooner Nation is blessed, no doubt about it

    Joe C. knows how to pick the best people and the best coaches. What great examples of how to be a leader and how to be a good man.
