    i totally disagree. the 15 hp may not be much but they definitely do not struggle to get the bike moving. And it is far from bland and generic. Did you look at the bike from the side? How well proportioned and nicely curved it is? Perfect little city cruiser.

    I'm still riding one of these, previous owner replaced the exhaust with a Harley style one and it's deep bass rumble sounds bigger than the engine size. It looks bigger and the ride is amazingly comfortable.
    Yes it is heavy, but having just ridden through 50-60mph+ winds, I was grateful for the low ride and weight to grip me to the road, wouldn't have made it in a lighter vehicle.
    This vehicle is as comfortable and safe for varying conditions as bikes come at this level. I don't have enough expertise to compare it, but the comments on low power and high weight are ridiculous.

    @elgringo1893 Před 9 lety +19

    Low power? Are these muppets aware that 15 brake is the learner legal limit, as for performance it isn't bad at all

    • @TheCodexNecro
      @TheCodexNecro Před 9 lety

      True, but what I think they mean is the 15bhp means very little when you take into account how heavy this thing is.

    • @elgringo1893
      @elgringo1893 Před 9 lety +2

      It is heavy but if speed is what you want, get a scrambler, pass your test, then get a bigger bike

  • @grandimehu
    @grandimehu Před 10 lety +23

    I think they are being too harsh for this type of bike

    • @pablosearth

      ***** Exactly! Its a learner legal bike, if this was the 7 or 1100, then maybe critisice, that woman makes me so angry, DO NOT let this put you off any potential buyers, its an amazing ride, corners and handles like a boss!

    I've said this once and I'll say it again, men&motors have no credibility when it comes to reviewing bikes. They highly criticise everything unless it's a top end Harley or sports bike and they have a complete disregard for 125. Yes it's a Honda 125 but to some people it's a gateway to a whole new world of motorcycling. I've had two 125 cruisers already and I've loved every second of owning them. They're are reliable, forgiving, smooth and comfortable. Yes okay it won't do 75 and yes it screams a little when it reaches 60 but who cares. It's a great little bike and should be seen in a better light than how this pathetic excuse for a motoring show portrays it.

      Paul Robinson it drives better than most 125cc. I was close to buying one, but I bought instead a husqvarna wre 125. sorry believed you were Norwegian.. it is the best chopper u can get as a 125cc

  • @amwap12
    @amwap12 Před 8 lety +32

    ffs. you cannot compare a 125 cruiser to a 500 sports bike. Anyway your missing the point. its a Lerner legal bike it cannot have no more than 15bhp.. and another thing there is no way that will do 80mph a cbr runs out of puff at 75. its extremely comfortable great for town work good on fuel and a fantastic way to get into motorcycling.

    • @HalfdeadRider
      @HalfdeadRider Před 5 lety +1

      The only way it would get to 80mph is with very long gearing, with the weight as well, it would probably take a week to get there lol

      mine does 70 easy on a straight it only goes 80mph downhill. They are way better than these people make it out to be

    I am 9 years late to this. I'm buying the Honda Shadow 125 2002 model and I think it's doing a very decent job. It feels nice to drive it, the engine sounds surprisingly better than other 125 machines, and it gets you from A to B, which is what it's for. I don't personally need more than 15HP, but you have to remember that this is a cruiser. It's not meant to do 0-100km/h (0-60mph) in 0.8 seconds. I think they were quite harsh on this one.

  • @alexm137
    @alexm137 Před 6 lety +6

    Wow, i was looking for some advice on this engine, and I think this one is really harsch! And far far from reality, as it is maybe one of the best 125 custom ever made... and what is this strange idea of comparing a 125 and a 500?? ARe those people serious??

  • @willswheels283
    @willswheels283 Před 3 lety +3

    If it can do 80, that’s impressive for a 125.

  • @TheRousler
    @TheRousler Před 2 lety

    The people in this video seem to be clueless. Its a 125, so why compare to a 500? It has the legal limit for power. It's well made. Reliable. Economical. It can go at motorway speeds, just.
    And it looks nice and won't fall apart like a Chinese bike.

    a bit harsh, this bike is perfect for learners and commuters, also, 15bhp is the legal learner limit.
    also, do not compare a 125 to a 500, not alike at all.

    I was looking forward to this review as I'm in the market and heard the shadow was pretty decent , this video ....well... 15 hp is enough for a 125 and I shan't be tuning in again.

      Yes indeed this 2bikes are beautiful, but the shadow is 2or 3pk stronger,yet if you look to their documentaire of the Yamaha dragster they say more good things then the shadow (the Yamaha get 67points and the shadow 61points or What 😯😒🤔😡)Okay very nice and beautiful looking motor this Yamaha dragster 😎👍but the Yamaha doesn have 15pk so the shadow is a little bit faster 😎👍
