-has been used in a fight with Darth Vader before being lost with Luke's lost hand
-Has been found and kept in hiding again (this time for around 31 years
-Used by Rey to defeat Kylo Ren in the Battle of Star Killer Base
-Last notible act, dividing Snoke by 2
-Gets destroyed in a force pull fight by Rey and Kylo Ren

Actually felt kinda sad seeing it get destroyed, really loved seeing this Lightsaber in use, during the movies and mostly the Clone Wars. :( RIP Anakin's LightSaber
Hopefully, Rey will use the crystal to build a new one. The cylinder is, after all, just the vessel. It's the crystal inside that matters.

Just in the movies? Not counting faceless goons (Geonosians, Droids, etc.) the lightsaber has disembodied five limbs on-screen:
* Dooku's two hands (and head) in Ep. 3
* Mace Windu's right hand in Ep. 3
* The alien's arm, Mos Eisley Cantina, Ep. 4
* The Wampa's right arm in Ep. 5
The Neimoidians seem to have lost no limbs
on-screen during their slaughter though (all bisected, partially or in full).
As for the wielders of the lightsaber losing limbs at some point in their lives before or after wielding the lightsaber:
* Anakin lost his right arm to Count Dooku on Geonosis in Ep. 2, then his other hand and both legs at knee-height to Obi-Wan in Ep. 3
* Luke lost his right hand to Vader in Ep. 5
* Darth Vader lost his right robotic hand to Luke in Ep. 6
So, three hands and two arms (and a head, if you count it) severed by wielders, and an arm, two legs, and three hands lost by wielders.

Skywalker's original lightsaber was blue, not green, and he didn't lose it in a duel with count dooku, he lost it when it got cut in half by the geonosian conveyor belt, and then he got captured.

@@notobiwan His first one was broken but he was able to repair it, not shown in a film but in a comic that came out alongside 'AOTC' it was then broken again in the driod factory. The green one was a loaner but destroyed by Dooku. In 'Clone Wars' Anakin seems to have learned his lesson about keeping his lightsaber with him at all times, as when teaching Ashoka he implies that using loaned lightsabers was why he lost his arm.

There was all that fuss last month over rumours about Meryl Streep taking over the role of Leia, and I'm pretty sure that's how Disney is going to go.
I'm almost completely convinced it was Disney themselves who started those rumours and were behind the 'fan petitions'.....
They were probably putting the suggestion out there well beforehand so that - in their minds - all the rage will have hopefully burned off by the time the film comes out. (They're kidding themselves if that's the case).
R2D2 and C3PO are the only characters featured in every single Star Wars movie.
As they are both essentially ageless, they carry the continuity.

When Anakin's saber was cut in half on Geonosis I always thought he would have at least slipped the kyber crystal out and used it once he built a new one. I mean if nothing else it would have saved him another trip to Ilum or Jedha.

Technically Ani lost his first lightsaber in the droid foundry, that green one he used against Darth Tyranus was given (or lent) to him by the Jedi crashing the Separatist party. The one destroyed in the foundry was also blue
Anakin wields his saber in the clone wars. Darth Vader wields it Invading the Jedi Temple. Obi-Wan steals it and gives it to Luke. Han uses it to open a tauntaun. Luke wields it against Vader and looses it with a hand. Rey brings it to Luke, who was more inclined to see the hand “There was a hand too, did you bring the hand?” So that’s why he tosses the light saber 🤣

Sleepless Days maybe it was, but Obi-Wan didn’t kill Maul with it. Qui-Gon’s saber only defeated Maul in the first fight, Maul outlive Darth Tyranus (aka Count Dooku).

Zorastorm 32 in order for the lightsaber to turn crimson red the force user would have to shatter or "bleed" the crystal than. Use synthetic materials through the materials and crystal in a furnace use the dark side and sith alchemy to heal it the dark side would make itself comfy than poof red lightsaber

Heyy, I loved this video! And I think it was really amazing to see Star Wars from the point of view of a light saber who saw everything, from anakin's rise to his fall to the darkness, luke's rise and struggles and Rey's rise and struggle.
There is one more non human character, who has been through the entire franchise and remember's everything.
R2D2! It was with anakin since the day he met Qui Gon Jinn, through his Jedi training and missions with obiwan, and through the clone wars (where we find out his mission memory has never been wiped). Then he was with Leia through out the rebellion, and then with Luke since the first day he started his journey till the day he exiled himself.

The Anakin/Luke lightsaber is definitely my favourite lightsaber hilt design. I even have a toy of it that came out during Revenge of the Sith where you can actually change the colour of the blade between blue and red, similar to what you describe at 4:32.
That light saber has been used and abused at one point in even got ripped in half!
I think that the blue lightsaber owned by Anakin and Luke surviving after the battle between Vader and Luke on Bespin is a huge plot hole. And only a true Star Wars Fan like myself would know this.

Actually, the green light saber you mentioned at the beginning, damaged at the duel with count Dooku was just a replacement for the one he lost on the genosian droid factory. And even at that moment, Anakin said "not again" implying that it had happened before.

Cameron Bleecker Well, they've had two actors who were only in the prequels previously, appear in Rogue One. They also mentioned the Sith and Darth Sidious by name in the last two movies. What I really want is an answer as to how Maz found the lightsaber. It can't be that complicated of a backstory and they probably could've found a place in TFA where they gave a simple explanation.

This lightsaber has such a long history. The Clone Wars, Order 66, the rebellion, everything in the trilogy so far.
That's almost 60 years of history. It might be the oldest lightsaber to ever exist. Not including the temple guards' lightsabers
I refuse to bide by Disneys new history they are giving on how things work. George Lucas saw it as the Jedi's weapon. Nothing more. It didn't have feelings. It wasn't alive and the only connection it had was that the Jedi created the lightsaber for him or herself by customizing it. The Crystal didn't bleed red. The red crystals were made in a furnace. They can still be Kyber Crystals. That's fine. But lets face it. We can make artificial diamonds.

I've always liked the idea that Kyber crystal has some form of sentients that only the Jedi can feel. Like a best friend they've always been waiting for. It's the difference between a simple weapon to a lightsaber. It would never hurt the Jedi wielder, it hurts when the Jedi does something it doesn't like, and it cries when the Jedi turns to the Dark Side.
